Luke Shaw | Deal done! Almost...

No idea why you're all getting your knickers in a twist over it as I'm pretty sure Jamie Jackson hasn't reported anything of the sort.

Where did Jackson say that? It's not on the Guardian website, nor is it on Twitter.

Are you running some kind of anti-van Gaal propaganda?

Van Gaal maybe the cheap Glazer option. Maybe he canvassed himself for the job in the basis of doing it on the cheap.

Reallly wouldnt surprise me one bit. LVG may well be able to get us back into the top 4 without spending but the Glazers will continue to rob the club of millions. We arent just falling behind transfer wise. Look at the new setup City have at the Eithad.

Jamie Jackson: 'I can confirm that Manchester United are currently in talks with numerous high profile players, however I must remind people that everyone dies in the end'

Those quotes I saw in the Southampton thread in the general, which turns out to be fake. Should have checked twitter, but I'm at work.

It's bollocks, that tweet at the top is the only one who's said it and he's made his quote up because he reckons that he "might have had assurances".

People are too eager to moan on here.

That was briefly hilarious. One 'apparently' from Bojan11 and three or four people buy it before even checking.

And the 'apparently' was only 'apparently Jamie Jackson says'. As if Jamie Jackson's opinion actually means anything.

Even for the internet, the Caf is absurdly credulous.

We'll chuck you through the Moon Door shortly!

What is wrong with you? Van Gaal hasn't even done anything and every post of yours regarding him seems to be negative.
He was in love with moyes and convinced that rvp and other players weren't trying or something, so now van gaal coming in is unfair on moyes. That it he just really dislikes van Persie so because he's pally with van gaal, he doesn't like him either.

So much for a done deal.If he wants to concentrate on the world cup why not just sign a deal ,and you just know if he as a good world cup his price will rise and so will the clubs interested.

Firstly, 'just signing a deal' doesn't just happen the moment you make the decision. It requires you to commit to a sometimes lengthy and complicated negotiating process. Which is presumably exactly why he's putting the whole thing on hold, rightly, to focus on the tournament ahead of him.

Secondly, if more clubs come in after the world cup then that would be a good thing for him. More choice, and a stronger negotiating position on wages etc. Plus I'm sure he wants to see Southampton get as big a fee for him as they can.

He's doing what Hodgson, his national manager, has asked them all to do. Which is what you'd expect from a good professional. De Gea did the same before we bought him.

I'd find it hard to concentrate on anything with something like this looming. Surely you'd want it sorted?

Again, not something you can just 'sort' the second you decide to. However decisive he is, it would still take some time and a great deal of attention. He's making the professional decision.

Yeah we can kiss this transfer goodbye too when David Luiz signs for PSG. They'll shift Azpilicueta back to RB, have Ivanovic play at CB and rotate with Terry and Shaw LB. Hooray!

Quite worried that the potential David Luiz to PSG sale could allow Chelsea to match our offer for Shaw. Chelsea need to be in line with FFP but getting 50m for Luiz would give them the funds needed to make that deal happen.

Same. However, Luiz wasn't even a regular for Chelsea, Terry and Cahill were the first choice CBs. Luiz played quite a bit in midfield.

They had the money before, its quite irrelevant.

Its not a question of if they had money before or not. But with FFP you can only spend what you earn or something like that. This deal might give them leverage to go ahead with the Shaw deal as well.

Chelsea reached the semi's of the CL and came 3rd in the league - that would easily cover £60M in FFP. Along with all the other player's they are going to sell it really is not a problem.
