To be fair, he did say a month......
Totally made up.okay so 180k week is a made up figure? fair enough
Everyone seems to have skipped the month bit and assumed he said a week. 45k a week sounds no so made up doesn't it?To be fair, he did say a month......

The Guardian are saying the bid has been rejected now? What is it with all this transparency, bring back the subterfuge, smoke and mirrors

They should feck off. £27m is already a ridiculous price, if they want more they may as well try to find another buyer who will pay that. I guarantee they won't.I think Southampton are trying to get more money for him, maybe around the £30m mark, it's now down to Eddy and his negotiating skills to clinch the deal.
Don't hold your breath on this.
Southampton are going to milk this.
There's much more uncertainty within Southampton.
A lid was kept on things.I said the same yesterday. I can't blame them. United should have asked them their price and haggled down. Instead we are looking down the barrel of more derision if this goes pear-shaped because somebody can't keep a lid on things.

How did the bid get out?
Because the time was right, the bid wasn't made on Sunday, the league was over with and enabled the club / the press to release the informationHow did the bid get out?
Very graphic. If you're going to take career transfer advice from why not pick a man who wallowed in his own filth his entire career at a club for whom avoiding relegation was cause for celebration?
I think once you bid, it's a bit out of your hands really. You can keep the insiders at United shut up but not those at Southampton. So, it's not too hard speaking from a journalist's point of view.

If only we had RedCafe's crack team of international transfer negotiators on hand for advice. You lot are fecking crackers.I said the same yesterday. I can't blame them. It's puzzling because Chelsea seem to get the deal done more efficiently rather than Carry On Red Devils.
Very graphic.
I find this stance towards Le Tissier a bit weird tbh. Players are labelled as greedy mercenaries, lambasted for not staying loyal to their home club etc. - but then are called unambitious if they do reject to move upward.

Did we confirm the Mata bid straight away? Nope. The fee was already agreed, that's why it finally became public knowledge on Sunday. We can't just come out and say "It's done" - that would completely irk the Southampton fans - it will play out for a few days as if negotiations are happening, then it will be confirmed. Keep the faith.I don't see the point in making a bid public. Especially as United haven't confirmed it.
Well depends what you mean by efficiency. I think it's incredibly hard to sign a talented future England LB without anyone knowing about it. It's near impossible. Apart from that, we don't really know what's going.
Also keep in mind, we're going after big names. Established players often have a truck-load of insiders and when we're dealing with them, that's what happens.
You've got to admit it never seems to go as smoothly as elsewhere, does it?
