Let the muppetry begin.

Started quite early this time! At least we're trying to get deals done quickly unlike last summer.

If we get business done before the World Cup, I'd be delighted. #LVGin

Are all our bids going to go public again just like last summer? I preferred it when we didn't have a clue what was going on.
I'm hoping this is just the "official" bit and we've done the deal already in the background. Otherwise, spaghetti-o's.

Let the muppetry begin.
Yes, Sir !

Do ya reckon the lads in Sky have a spread bet on over how many pages this thread will get to?

Which rag said we would do this? One of them said today that this exact £27m would happen tonight.

How does this all become 'official' then? Who leaks it?

At least it looks like we're getting things done early this year then, let's hope it comes off.

It's a lot of money but if it's true then it's nice to see us getting business done ASAP. I guess potentially having LB sorted for 15 years makes it worth it over time.

So Southampton will decline, Chelsea will make a counter bid.

how much will we end up shelling out for him?

I think it will be about 31 million + add ons.

How many actual public bids were there last summer? Just loads of claims and speculation, mostly.

Definitely more than usual. Off the top of my head - Fabregas, Baines, Fellaini, Khedeira, Coentrao, De Rossi. All of those were unanimously confirmed by the press, the club or the player himself. That didn't happen during Gill's time.

of course they will, we will get him in the end, but no for the first bid put in, they have a price in mind and will want it.
Don't think we'll blindly make formal bids like we did last time around with Fabregas and Baines. If we bid 27m I'm sure we learned our lesson and actually discussed the valuation of Shaw with Southampton before me made this formal.

I really don't understand what's in this for Shaw.

I imagine this might change based on managerial alterations, but it would make more sense for him to stick at Southampton one more year.
