Luke Shaw | Deal done! Almost...

That Borat dancing gif has some potential after today. Just throwing another idea out there for @Olly

Or do we wait so we can add Vidal and Sanchez into it aswell?

Who cares about the transfer fee? This is the mentality we need to show in today's market. If we want a player, we have to pay whatever it takes to get him and we're showing it since the Mata transfer. If we acted like this a few years ago, we would most likely have at least 2 of Nasri, Lucas and Hazard in our team. The money we lose when we lose out on our top transfers and do badly in the league is much more expensive than paying over the odds for players. Woodward, the owners and our manager is showing clear intent at improving the team and we should totally delighted about it.
Not really comparable as in those cases, United failed to match other clubs, which was why they lost out. With Shaw, seems like there's really no one else in for him.

As I recall it was Mata, Ferguson, Moyes, Rooney and some others dancing in front of a car? Something along those lines. Don't worry if you haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, I don't most of the time either.

EDIT - This one http://31.media.tumblr.com/977eef81ddc36b088ef06ca98f9b9523/tumblr_mzy4ia4ETK1t17j4bo1_400.gif
Ah right

Maybe if I wait a bit we'll have more faces to add to it

Exactly!

Yep. He and Herrera should hopefully thrive under van Gaal's management over the next few years.

For sure. Januzaj, Smalling, Jones, Rafael and Kagawa in our existing squad are all extremely capable but guidance is key to how good they become. He's by far the right man for the job, the next few years are critical - not just for getting straight back on track and winning trophies, but in terms of shaping this team which has a lot of promise but little guarantees. Exciting times!

Shaw has about 15 years in him, it's great to have the position tied down. I'm no concern at all, 30m as well spent as could be in my eyes.

Exactly, if he can help lead us to 5 or 6 PL titles, throw in a few Cups and maybe a CL or two he'll be well worth the money.

Another great treat to wake up to. Way too much money for me but if he can stay clear of serious injury and we have him for 10+ years, it will prove a good investment. Very pleased.

Ed and LVG getting shit done!

The £30m fee if it's that, is still a bit disconcerting, but if the club has agreed so pay it, who cares now really?

The amount of hate has always been borderline idiotic.

Woodward deserved the abuse he got. He was talkin the talk all the time & biggin himself up about transfers & Rooney to Chelsea etc. Remember that "urgent business to attend to.." bullshit aswell? He was pure gringe-worthy & looked a bloke way out of his league & classless last summer.

The amount of leaks coming from United since he took over from Gill is disgraceful - Moyes sacking being one of them. Thats not the United way & all the fingers point to Woodward in that respect - all the journo's say so too, more importantly.

Its been documented that the Glazers were gonna be alot more hands-on with transfers from the Jan window onwards, because of the shambles last summer. So, i'd hazard a guess they've been very influential in the Ander signing, the prospective Shaw signing & every other summer we make. Dont forget either, that the Mata deal in Jan was supposedly done by a 3rd party & also that Fergie had part to play in that deal going through - him being close to Mourinho may have brokered it!

The jury is still out on Woodward & credit goes to the club more than one individual...

He gets the blame for last summer, but no credit for anything after that?

..willing to pay that sort of money.. or that every other club was wasting their time trying to sign?!

Also, its been posted in a page or two back (from Amar), that he wanted to come to United instead of Chelsea or City.. He apparantly sent texts to Lovren sayin so & Lovren's mate relayed what was sent from Shaw & that "he's a United player" etc..

Everyone keeps using phrases like " in 10 years time" or "LB for the next 12-15". You're all assuming one, that he achieves his potential and two he avoids major injury. Those are to huge assumptions

I know i sound harsh Verm, but time will tell if he's become the brains behind the operation now.

Those stories about the Glazers - particularly Joel, who were furious at the mighty balls-up last summer & were gonna take a much more hands-on approach with transfers & contracts etc., dont fill me full of confidence that Ed's the catalyst behind our approach to transfers now..

I'll hold my hand up & say well done to Ed, if it turns out he's being effective in his role. No point being quick to hate & then sprint to congratulate someone who has huge question marks hanging over him is my view..

--------De Gea
Rafael Jones Evans Shaw
----Carrick Herrera
Januzaj Rooney Mata
------van Persie

It's starting to come together!
Need another midfielder, and a CB. Possibly a futher midfielder aswell.

I'm sure Mitten will have some interesting articles regarding this summer, maybe then we'll know a bit more about what happened, and who's balls deserve a tickling.

sounds good with Varella as back up to Rafael, Smalling, Keane and Thorpe as backp CB's and Evra and Shaw (with James sometimes) at LB
We need a good box to box midfielder or a more defensive CM.
Would like to see Pearson, Rothwell and Pereira given the odd game as well as Powell if any of Rooney, Mata or Januzaj needs a break. Ideally it would be nice if we got Strootman alongside Herrera with Carrick as back up

Friday morning? Just perfect. I would assume our other targets are still at the World Cup, so we might have to wait a bit more for them.

Wov, havent been on the internet and just realised he'll be confirmed tomorrow. Wov!
