Me.
Why should I care what he costs? As long as his purchase doesn't prejudice our ability to land other targets, it's all good.

I want him. Terrific prospect and bags of potential. With Van Gaal's and Evra's tutelage, he really can be the best left back in the world in a few years time. If he is loyal then we can get 10-15 years from him for £27-30m which is not bad at all.How many fans want him for the price being stated?

Of course. Spend some f'ing dough and get us back to where we belongHow many fans want him for the price being stated?
He's a right back as far as I know. Still with the reserves.

Ferdinand was no-brainer as a CB at 23 having played over 170 PL games including a couple of years at Leeds who were a top club back then. Shaw is a fullback who's played 50-odd games for a mid-table club. Crazy,It would remind me a lot of the Ferdinand deal in that respect. A lot of anxiousness about the fee at the time, but ended up justifying every penny.

Can someone threadban this guy? I bet if I go through his posts in here, they will all be the same recurring post. @Damien
Me. He's already better than Evra and is a great prospect who will give us 10+ years of service. There's no doubt the prices handed out are a lot for a fullback, but Shaw is a special case. How many fans want him for the price being stated?

Why stop at thread ban?
I answered a question. Too bad you disagree with it.
Too expensive for a player in that position. There are decent alternatives for reasonable prices even considering the inflated market. Why don't you want him?

£30million for potentially 10 years. Fine by me.
He's 18. Why would he retire at the age of 28?
Saying that he'll have 10 years of service for us doesn't necessarily mean he'd retire. Just may mean he'll move away. Impossible to say.
What I meant was if we can get 10 years minimum out of him, then I'd take it.
Not too aware mate. I guess we'll find out soon?Yeah, I know that, but is he any good and is there hope he'll make the 1st team next season?

As usual, not a fecking whisper.Any updates today regarding this potential transfer?

Didn't stop Liverpool with Lambert.Nothing can happen on it until after England are out of the world cup.
He's in Miami, and I doubt he can break off from the pre world cup camp to come home and sign!
I would have preferred signing him and atleast another player before the world cup. The world cup will be till the middle of July and players wont be available for talks till then. I know not everybody will be playing in the latter stages of the world cup but still the players I think we should target could be. There will be one and a half month though. A lot could be done.
Btw, does anybody know why Shaw's deal is taking time really? I read it was stalled, he had an interest in Chelsea apparently and Southampton being managerless as the reasons. Or have I answered the question?
Exactly. Maybe because the deal is bigger and thus more complex?Didn't stop Liverpool with Lambert.
Thanks. Ogden is off on holiday for ten days and no Shaw news from him. James Ducker has no news and he seems to be off too. Nothing from Ian Ladyman as well. Any reliable journalist reporting this is done before the world cup?Southampton's chairman has said that they wanted to sort out Pochettino's future first before selling any players.

We could announce that we have agreed a deal with Southampton and the personal terms with the player though? Like we did with Mata, all that was left to do was his medical.Nothing can happen on it until after England are out of the world cup.
