That's the problem - a couple of years later he was Billy Big Bollox.
Can't see Jose putting up with that for long.

Gibbs is a hero, he enjoys beating Spurs as much as the fans (quite apart from being a much better fullback than Shaw).
Yes, I remember seeing thatI saw one of Southampton players doing a interview not long ago and they just stopped short of calling him an idiot basically.
I remember Jamie Carragher talking about something like this in an interview a few years back. Part of what is required of the best athletes in the world now is total and utter dedication to their craft. So unfortunately, old friends often fall away (and usually don't take it well). It comes with the territory and not just because a certain player is prick.
Good point. Just think about it: you really commit yourself to something in a consuming way. Day in and day out you hone to better yourself and take the sacrifices that come with it. You are bound to grow apart from those you know that just don't do the same. As you mature and get exposed more to the world friends become who have commonalities with as opposed to just function of proximity. I can see that getting mistaken for snobbery.I remember Jamie Carragher talking about something like this in an interview a few years back. Elliot my old son, you're one of my favourite abrasive posters but that's piss-poor.

Much like you, I was better when my heart was in it.
For the record, you're still my favorite opposition poster, just not quite as sharp as you used to be.
I think you're both a bit shit tbh.

*Must not joke about him banging Ubik's sister*
If I knew who you were, I'm sure the feeling would be mutual.
Will he make his decision before the World Cup or not?
Doesn't look like it. And if he does, it won't be publicly announced.
We're not going to sign Shaw, everything points to Jose getting Felipe Luis, so I don't see United missing out on Luke, especially if numbers quoted in the press are correct.
Contradiction?
I know he's a Chelsea fan, but are Chelsea + Mourinho the types to actually spend near on £30 million on a 18 year old? Not sure if they are.
He did sign Kurt Zouma.I agree that Jose is hardly known for his trust in youth, I'd imagine he'd prefer an experienced head like Felipe Luis for a year or two.
Then loaned him out and probably won't play him regularly for a few years. He did sign Kurt Zouma.
He did sign Kurt Zouma.
I'm not sure (maybe I'm wrong) that it was his signing. And I doubt he'll play very much in the next season, if not the next two or three. He did sign Kurt Zouma.
Luke Shaw might not make the England friendly because of a "cold"......what are the chances he is away completing his move to United?
If the bid indeed has been rejected, then let's move the feck on..
Any suggestions?Absolutely. If Southampton have rejected 27 million, let's do our business elsewhere.
I kind of assumed it had been rejected given that the bid was a couple of weeks ago yet and there has been no more activity since. If the bid indeed has been rejected, then let's move the feck on..

Evra has signed on for another year now. Maybe that was after Southampton rejected our bid - remember that Evra was reported to be leaving.Any suggestions?
