Luke Shaw | Deal done! Almost...

Most stuff in the media you can write off as BS but this one does seem to have been reported just about everywhere that we made a bid post the end of the season and have been monitoring him for a good long while now, too much smoke me thinks without any fire on this case.

so would that be true of Chelsea having a shot at getting him as well then

When Spurs won an award for "best pitch in the Premier League" last season I heard several people quip it was because of the amount of costly manure they spread over it.

United's phases of trying to sign a player...

1. "Set to bid for" - this stage can last for weeks and may never progress to stage 2
2. "Preparing a bid for" - we must have the slowest lawyers in football because this preparation stage can take over a week
3. Bid (this is usually leaked by us just in case any of our rivals want to consider a higher bid)
4. Nothingness - this phase can last weeks, presumably because Woody is not very good at closing out transfers
5. The Hijack - a rival club "hijacks" the deal, usually offering the same, or less, than we had reportedly offered.
6. Back to phase 1 for another player
7. Repeat until deadline day when we sign Fellaini instead
I didn't think this joke could get any funnier after being recycled so many times, but feck me, was I wrong?

No. No I fecking wasn't.

I thought merciless spending was what Spurs were good at? They did plenty of it last season. They paid a similar amount for Lamela off the back of a good couple of seasons, just like Shaw has had.

The manager knows the player, he's already among the best in his position in the Premier League, and Spurs could certainly use a better left back. I reckon it would be more down to the player not wanting to go to Spurs, than Spurs blocking a move.

They would only be able to move for Shaw at that price if they were able to sell Danny Rose for 40 million. So I can not see it happening.

I think you'll sign Shaw for £27m after the world cup, he'll turn out to be a reasonable £10m signing not a klutz like Johnson, Walker or Rafael

Do you really believe some of the stuff you spew on here?

What's your beef? Johnson, Walker and Rafael are classic wannabe wingers who've been rubbished as defenders.

Rafael isn't a wannabe winger at all though, is he? Or are you just going to leech of the hyperbole of this season that he's a 'ticking timebomb' who can't defend at all?

You know you're shite when Moyes can take 4 points off you in your best season in nigh on a decade.

Exactly in a season where Moyes made us play well below our level we still took more points off Arsenal than any other team in the top 10 this season, Arsenal along with Southampton were also the only top 10 sides not to beat us either (we didn't manage to beat s'hampton) thats how fecking shit Arsenal are.

What i really want to know is that if this thread is going to be the Thiago Alcantara/Sneijder/Ozil of 2014? Do you reckon Shaw doesn't deserve it?

If it is true that SHAW will only sign after the world cup, we might have a chance of getting him cheaper. England always under perform at World Cup nowadays.
