He's nowhere near Gibbs defensively right now.
Ok Pete.

One of my closest mates, one of the nicest guys you'll find around, looks exactly like Woody. Recently and over the last couple of weeks, my inclination to punch him in the face grows and grows.Long summer ahead again. So much for wrapping up early signings. We can't even sign a teenager FFS.
Woodward should be sacked if he doesn't deliver this summer, hate his punchable face with a passion.
Ok Pete.
We won't sign Luke Shaw this summer (or at all) despite the media claiming it's a done deal. There I said it.
I hope we announce a deal to sign him in the next couple of weeks, the guy is a super star in the making.
Can we just sign the kid already
I'm worried we've dragged this on to long and we'll be left empty handed when he joins Chelsea last day of the transfer window.
"talks are ongoing" apparently.. seriously fed up with this phrase.. we've been speaking for over two weeks now, what's their to bloody talk about?
Last I heard talks were ongoing.. what there is to talk about for over a week mind I haven't a clue. We must be one of the worst clubs when it comes to getting over the line with transfers.
To be fair, Ogden is the most reliable when it comes to news with us but he's been saying that a little while now, I guess we won't know until after the world cup now anyway.
Luke will end up at Chelsea.. feel free to quote me on this.
Typical us, typical Woodward.. if this news is genuine then expect him to be a Chelsea player next season.
He's made the dough for the club for quite a few years now, and the transfer window's not yet begun. Calm down.
Fair to say he's relaxed about the situation.
Fecking hell. Can we organise a suicide watch on this @Mister_Stubbs if and when Shaw signs for Chelsea?
Well he is right, Shaw is much better.

Every summer we get muppets having nervous breakdowns because they get fixated on players, and believe every piece of tabloid thrash.
How do these people function in the real world?
No, he's just able to use the search function. Can you?You actually took the time to go through 30 odd pages to quote all them.. fair play.
That was in a very different role. I mean, I admire the way Doris the cleaner gets the toilet bowls sparkly clean at work, but I wouldn't want her as CEOHe's made the dough for the club for quite a few years now, and the transfer window's not yet begun. Calm down.
I get on find in the real world, thanks for asking.
My problem is this summer, like last we were assured by our CEO that we'd make strides in the market to bring in players to make us challenge again. Last summer was awful and this summer has started the same in many ways. If you are comfortable with this then fine but I'm getting a bit pee'd with the way we seem to be dealing in the transfer market these last few years.
Think we already have it wrapped up and just want him totally focused on the World Cup so we've delayed the announcement.
By all means throw your toys out of the pram if we haven't got anyone by the end of the summer.
This summer hasn't started at all, mate. English players won't be signed/announced until after the World Cup, and the international window hasn't even opened yet. What did you expect to have happened?

I agree, but it's fecking hard not to get frustrated isn't it.
Transfers on World Cup year always tend to drag out, I don't see the issue here.
In fairness @Mister_Stubbs has a point. The club was wanting and least one or two deals done before the WC nothing has transpired as of right now.
There's a very real possibility Chelsea are about to blow us out of the water at the last minute here.

Good lord, the reactions in here are apocalyptic. Quite an achievement, considering the window hasn't even opened yet.
I agree, but it's fecking hard not to get frustrated isn't it. Transfers get bigged up and up and almost certainly fail most of the time. I say every window that I won't get sucked into the bullshit but I always do, there's nothing I can do about it. I'm a frigging muppet.
Pretty much what @Brightonian's said. This is the first transfer window where I haven't really been following our transfer targets and the sagas following it. I've been more excited over the last two weeks for the World Cup if I'm being honest, and as such haven't paid much attention to the Kroos or Shaw storylines, but I can't say I care too much or have got involved in it. Until I hear something official from the appropriate channels, I'll kept my inner muppet on a leash.Honestly? Not really. Just don't pay so much attention to the transfer 'journalism'. This is the off season. Stop obsessing about football for a bit. Take a break, then come back and watch the world cup. Don't scour this forum and the gutter press sports sites every day for the latest unfounded, meaningless rumours.

Did anyone get the feeling that we were trying to keep the Evra renewal quiet initially? It only got announced after all the journos noticed he was on the retained players list. Did this have something to do with the Shaw deal?
