Just get rid, he has been as available as Martial. We need to just let go of all these players that have stopped us from moving forward and can’t be relied upon
Given his wages it’ll be very hard to do so.Just get rid, he has been as available as Martial. We need to just let go of all these players that have stopped us from moving forward and can’t be relied upon
I don't understand the confusion on him being fit now. It was always expected to be a rush to get him back for the cup final so this seems about right.
The reason he was ever a doubt for England was because of a lack of time to get match fit
Bizarre isn’t it. I’m sure he definitely wanted to miss an FA Cup final and have zero match fitness before a tournament where he’ll need to play every four days.Yea, I agree. Weird people making out like he hasn't been injured. He's gained nothing by not playing recently.

If he is fit than all English fans should be happy as he is our best LB and all true Manchester United fans should be happy if he has a good tournament as it will be a bonus for next season. We spent an entire season waiting for Shaw only for him to feck off to the Euros despite him not being match fit. Can you imagine how sir Alex would react to that? We are talking of a 150k a week players who was available for us less then martial was
The Martial comparison makes very little sense as Shaw is a much better player. Even if Martial was fit this season he would have barely features as he's almost useless now.We spent an entire season waiting for Shaw only for him to feck off to the Euros despite him not being match fit. And it was widely reported how much he wanted to get back for the final and was working hard to do so.
Its a shame he didn't make it back in time for us, but if he's now fit enough to start training on grass and potentially play in a couple weeks time, then what is he supposed to do? Turn down the chance of winning the euros simply because he wasn't available last season? It makes no sense, and there's not a player on the planet who would do so.

Don't blame him for playing when he can and willing to trust he's not pulling the wool with the timing.
Difficult decision to make, part of me thinks that he should dedicate the summer to getting fit for Utd, but the other part thinks he probably doesn't have much longer in the game and if the timing is genuine you can't blame him for wanting to play what he can.
what happens if gets injured at the Euros ?
That makes no sense whatsoever.I think that United fans should be happy if he remained put and he built his fitness slowly therefore minimizing the risk of an injury. If you think that Southgate gives a feck about Shaw past the tournament then think again. If he has to choose between winning the Euros and having Shaw fit for us then he'll choose the former, every, single time.
That makes no sense whatsoever.

But it's not like for like, as if Martial is available he's a peripheral player at best whereas if Shaw is available he's a starter and one of the best left backs in the league.we're talking about availability here
If he is fit to play then he is fit to play and it would be obvious he has not been twiddling his thumbs while he has not been playing for us but working to get back on the pitch. How?
I replied to someone else but its all there.can you please explain yourself?

I think it is fairly obvious that representative football is about the best players playing for their country in their best positions and Luke is the best LB we have and who are we to deprive him of that.
If on the other hand a true fan would rather our players do not represent their countries because of the chance of injury then that makes absolutely no sense to me.
Odd that people seem to think Shaw's injured because he's lazy/disloyal as opposed to just being injury prone. He's always been injury prone, is he supposed to will it out of existence? Paranoid mindset to think he's going to be magically fit for England just because he wants to. It's because his injury has healed...for now.
We've won two out of the three major honours in English football in the last couple of seasons, though. So does that mean we do have players fully committed to the cause? Or that you'll have to change it to 'you cannot win the PL or CL...'From a Manchester United's perspective what truly matters is what he does on the pitch in a red devil's shirt. That's why he's paid a 150k a week. Shaw has every right to go and play with England following a horrific season where United had to play without a LB. On the other hand United has the right to question Shaw's judgement and commitment to their cause considering that he's fresh from a horrific season, he's made of glass and he's entering a tournament with zero match fitness. The wise move for him would have been to stay at Carrington and slowly build his fitness up. He chose otherwise. United have every right to plan for a future without him.
United need committed players who put the red shirt as the prime focus of their football career. That was the core belief during our glory days and is the main culprit as of why we descended into banter level. Many moons ago Alan Hansen was ridiculed for saying that you cannot win with kids. I stick my neck out to say that you cannot win without players who are fully committed to the cause.

Rooney and Beckham have both gone injured, or just returning from injury, to international tournaments, I don't see anyone questioning their love for United.
Shaw tried his hardest to get fit for the FA-Cup finale, didn't make it. It's not outlandish at all that he's ready to go now, three weeks later.
I agree, ideally, for us United supporters, he would spend the summer getting ready for next season, but it doesn't work like that. Of course he wants to go to the Euros with his England.
And even more ideally, I would want Mainoo to stay home and work on his pace and stamina and start next season fresh as a love child of Kantè and Zidane. Not going to happen.

Doesn't the fact that they're not doing this tell you something...?From a Manchester United's perspective what truly matters is what he does on the pitch in a red devil's shirt. And miss out on the Euros ? Why would he do that to satisfy some fans who, in the grand scheme of things, don't matter at all ?He should stay at Carrington and work on his fitness so he's available for next season. Someone should remind him whose paying his salary. SAF would most certainly would.
There was a time when United players would go through a brick wall for the badge. Now we've got players going to the Euros despite spending the entire season injured, players skipping training because they wanted to stay at the pub a teeny weeny longer, players arguing with the manager on twitter etc. Then we wonder why we're not winning anymore
Robson, Beckham and Rooney,
That is just three names off the top of my head that were legends at Utd but all would have representing their country as the pinnacle of their careers.
I think the honour of a player representing their country seems to have little value in your eyes and yet again that makes no sense to me whatsoever.
