I think you’re overly simplistic with your views, ‘been here through our bad times, therefore must be bad’.
Just because players have been let down by dogshit teammates and managers it doesn’t make them bad footballers. For example if Martinez had played for us for the last 7/8 years would that suddenly make him a bad player? Or are you suggesting if we’d have had Martinez in some of those campaigns we’d have been successful? Is Harry Kane a bad player because he never won anything with Tottenham, or was he let down by his teammates?
Also 20/21 he was the best left back in the world, not half a season of good form like you suggest. He was also brilliant in the second half of 19/20 and he’s pretty much brilliant for us now whenever he plays, so it’s not just 2 seasons is it? It’s 4 years of top form with an off season in the middle.
