His technique isn't as clean as Neymar/Messi but imo it comes down to decision making. His mentality and go to option is to always take it into stride/take the touch to open up the body to maximise the 'big hitter' opportunities i.e a shot, a half-step to get ahead of his defender etc. Because he's also a channel runner in the system his instinct is at odds with the philosophy, although he's also part of what makes it so effective too because he's a fantastic goal scorer and opportunity creator.
Just because you make racist comments doesn't mean you're inherently a racist - Evra said that he didn't think Suarez was in fact a racist IIRC. I personally think a few incidents are not as bad as decade+ long affairs. However, like I said, they're both deplorable human beings.
