When you see that again, Rooney wasn't in a position to score anyway as he had a defender blocking him. Really Valencia should have been backing up the play and been coming in from the right to give Welbeck another option (as someone like Ronaldo would have done).

Maybe so, but I'm not blaming Rooney there, I'm saying that Welbeck could've shown a bit more poise to wait with the pass - he had already left the defender for dead, so he had some time.

I would have rather seen Nani form the start, he is not a defensive liability when he plays at all he really puts in a shift. I will be disappointed if we don't see him tomorrow, Moyes needs to give him more playing time. Personally I feel Valencia is what he is now, he won't ever get back to the player who was a terror for opposition defences, I would much rather see Nani play, who admittedly can be poor at times but once he has built up form by playing regularly is a much more valuable player.

OK, now it's really ridiculous, not even worth of commenting it. I would understand if he is mad at Nani for some reason, but he praised him few times this season, with the latest praise coming before week or so, praising his work ethic, his quality, saying how he trusts him, etc, only to bench him for 8th game in a row.

Edit: He played against Leverkusen, I forgot about that, but that's still one start in last 8.

Those 8 games have flown in since last Wednesday.

Maybe he shagged Moyes' daughter? Seemed to do the trick for Zaha, ey?

Sorry, I forgot about Leverkusen. One game doesn't change much anything, considering he barely got sub appearance too.

Hard to get some consistency when you never play. Or I guess he is being consistent by never playing.

It's funny when people bang on about the consistent thing all the time, like they don't actually understand the whole concept of a player needing games to be consistent in the first place. Sitting on the bench (again) will do nothing for his confidence.

Seems like a good trick for getting paid without even playing any football. I wonder why did he give him new contract then?

He's consistently inconsistent when he doesn't get consistent playing time.

I said it when the news about his new contract broke - the deal was signed to protect the value of playing assets. Hes a goner in the summer and we will be left one -footed ox who hardly ever contibutes to our attacking game.

I sometimes hate Moyes. Fellaini, Valencia over Nani, no chance for Fabio is just stupid.

I'd say Welbeck is worse, I like him and think he can be a good player but don't think he's having to earn his place in the team or at least isn't under anywhere near the same scrutiny.

I do thing Moyes wants to keep Nani I think it's stil more him favouring work rate than anything.

Not Nani's biggest fan but when Welbeck constantly looks like he's lost his copy of 'A dummies guide to football' it must stick in the throat a bit for him

The way we have played suits Nani's style. Evra has had to do more attacking than Welbeck.

He should be playing ahead of Welbeck here I think, I'm a big fan of Welbeck but he's looked off the pace these last two games on the left

Yeah that's what frustrates me, I can see why valencia is playing and Kagawa but I don't think Welbeck has earnt his spot or has been putting in better performances before his injury and as I said it just feels like we're too concerned about what they might do, rather on what we could do to them with the strongest attack we could put out. I think as well particularly when we know the centre lacks creativity we need to make up for it in the middle. But oh well, Welbeck had some good moments in the first half but he's also faded out of the game a lot as well.

The way its been going we have created so much more from Nani and Januzaj than previously with Welbeck/Valencia on the wings.

Shame we took Kagawa off though, he would link up brilliantly with the pair of them, and with Rooney spearheading the attack you would think he would get on the end of some of these crosses, unlike Welbeck.

He did well when he came on. Surely now, Moyes has to start him...

Seriously? He was garbage.

I counted 3 counts of being muscled off the ball, 3 misplaced passed (at least), 1 utter garbage effort wide and one effort that ended up on the roof of the Stretford End.

you are fecking deluded. none of those passes were misplaced, and the one he hit over was a shit fecking return ball from welbeck that made him break his stride to even hit it.

Surprised you missed two crosses that led to goal chaces.

Played very well. In his time on the pitch, we created more (mostly down to him & Rafael) than we have in the rest of this game & the Spurs game combined. If he didn't have such a shower of shit playing around him, & more played like him, we'd have won. I can understand (although debate) starting Valencia, but Welbeck, again?! If I were Nani, i'd be furious. I'm a huge Welbeck fan, but he does not score goals, nor does he create them. If he was a better defender, he'd probably end up as some sort of Yaya Toure lite - he just isn't good enough, at this moment in time, to start games for us.

Did well. Not sure how welbeck can start ahead of him. He and Januzaj bring so much more technical quality to the table than the likes of Valencia and welbeck

Are the both of you serious - what did he actually do that was any fecking better than Welbeck or Valencia - not that they were any good either. What has he done in the last 6 years to warrent people asking for him to be brought on to change the game. I could think of a maximum of 5 great games he has had, in six years! How am I fecking deluded, surely I can't be the only one who is fed up of seeing him fire shots into row Z every fecking time he's on the pitch?

Ok I ask everyone, when was the last great game he had? Chelsea at the start of 2011/12 for me, 2 years ago.

Maybe Moyes should give him a run of games? He hasn't had one in two years. Him and Januzaj were way more threatening than Valencia and Welbeck who are just garbage wingers.

Are you saying you would prefer Valencia over Nani?
