So far the only source is a betting site... let's despair once we have something more tangible than that.

At least you've retained a sense of perspective.

Obviously hyperbole, but basically none of my hopes for this United summer have been realized.

And now it looks like Baines is signing as well, which strikes me as slightly pointless. Although he's a good player.

Maybe Moyes see Zaha as his replacement and plans to use Welbeck more as a winger this season?

Zaha isn't a ready made replacement for Nani and I'm sure Moyes would have seen that. He also hasn't played him in the opening games, so I doubt that's the case. Welbeck was pretty rubbish as a winger last season and I really doubt they want to sacrifice the gain he's made up front for a position he's never been great in, and won't be great in, as he's not a winger.

-------RVP------

Kagawa----Rooney---Nani

Really wanted to see this sometime :(

He might want to move away from using wingers though. He never really played with traditional wingers in the United mould at Everton.

I'd say he's informed us he won't sign a new contract, and Moyes deems him not good enough to keep around for a year just for the shits and giggles. Easy.

If we sell him for 11 we are idiots.

The fee was always going to be shit considering his performances last season and his contract situation. That's what makes this even worse, we wont get a half decent replacement for the same price.

It's all very nonsensical which is why I think there's far more to it than we know.

Yeah, tbf it may be just a run of bets based on a rumour, which drove the price down. And as you say, if this is happening, there must be a story behind it. Even if he didn't really fancy Nani, surely he'd want the continuity and cover that he provides when our other options as pure wingers are one player who has been in sustained poor form, one who hasn't exactly set the world alight since signing and a very green kid.

Then surely a proper move for Ozil would've made sense? Kagawa/Rooney/Ozil would've been a strong (and apparently obtainable) three to have behind the striker.

Even if he is changing the system we play, not adding more quality to replace Nani makes little sense.

Was the fact he wasn't getting on with signing a new contract a bit of a concern for you guys before today?

11 mil is still a bit low. In todays market i'd say a form Nani was worth 18-22 mil. Which site has paid out?

Good riddance if true, waste of a salary imo. Good player when he's on his game, which makes it once in every ten appearances.

Nani's future has been in doubt since last summer, it's no surprise really although the reports last week suggested the club and player would work out a new contract.

This would not make any sense at all....Valencia crossing/final ball is atrocious and Zaha is at least a year away from being ready so it would be madness to sell him!!

The paper said this morning that Ozil was going to sign for us and no-one believed it so why are we believing this drivel. He's not going nowhere.

If it's because he's refusing to sign a contract then that can only be because we are not offering him as much as he's worth or making the right noises about his chances in the team. Either of which is insane.

Yes defensive wingers are what we need. Monday night was way too open for my liking!

Maybe we can still get hold of Kuyt before he boards the plane back to Turkey from London?

If we are going to insist on letting Nani leave (and for so little, which given the contract situation would seem inevitable) then I'd hope we'd show the ambition to go for someone like Di Maria, rather than just leave the squad as it is without Nani.

Those reports make sense, first it was reported that we want 8 millions for Nani, so Juventus offered us 11 millions, 3 millions more than our asking price. That logic is great, those journalists are some smart people.

Stupid move if we sell Nani - unless we are signing another defensive winger....How much can we get Kuyt for?

Knowing us, we'd start with offering a bag of chips. Once that's rejected, we'd add a donut to it. And finally a pizza as our last bid.

Only positive is Januzaj might see some more game time. But this would probably mean seeing more of Ashley Young, can't wait.

Hopefully it's rubbish and a PR stunt, Nani staying at the start of the summer looked extremely unlikely but in the end it looked like he would be. Would be a shame if we lose him right at the end as he's easily our best winger

Hope this isn't true, especially as it seems like we won't strengthen at all either. Really don't understand the way we've treated Nani. He's stuck out longer then pretty much anyone else would have under similar circumstances. On form he's easily our best winger and he's shown he's actually pretty consistent once he gets a good run of uninterrupted games.
