Geddon Nani!

Even off form he's probably our best winger at the moment, and our second/third best attacking player.

Hmm..

Gf to Nate Dogg: 'Okay Nate, you can kiss me on the forehead and cheek on Tuesdays and Saturdays respectively. I hope that satisfies your carnal needs?'

Nate: 'I would be ecstatic.'

Nani wants to stay at Manchester United, with the 26-year-old keen to sign a new deal to commit his future to the club. David Moyes is also minded to make the winger part of his plans as he seeks to retain the Premier League in his first season in charge.
Nani has entered the final two years of his contract and though the winger's future has appeared uncertain with discussions between United and Jorge Mendes, his agent, intermittent after commencing before the end of last season, he wants to stay and fight for a starting place under Moyes.
With Nani having missed United's three-week pre-season tour of Asia and Australia as he recovered from nose surgery, the Portuguese has had little time to impress the new manager.
Yet in last week's friendly with Crewe Alexandra, he scored both goals in a 2-0 win before a tight groin caused his withdrawal as he missed Sunday's Community Shield victory over Wigan.
After facing Crewe, Nani hinted he wanted to remain at the champions when speaking of his ambition for the upcoming season.
"I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together," he said.

To me, how well Moyes does with Nani and Rooney is far more important to the destiny of the league title than which midfielders he signs.

More lazy journalism, he is in the final 10 Months of his contract and he felt his hamstring against AIK Solna.

Yeah that is a terrible "article". Incompetent journo yet again.

Jamie Jackson is the Manchester football correspondent for the Guardian and Observer.

What a correspondent he is.

Get that contract signed. Keeping Nani and Rooney would go a long way to making up for not being able to get in that top class cm this window.

EVeryone keeps saying 'get that contract signed' but what evidence is there we have offered him one?

In fact only 2 weeks ago we had offered him to Monaco...

And is there any evidence that we offered him to Monaco?

Well forgive me if I am reluctant in believing sporting directors of European clubs considering how much they all love to talk about players.

And secondly the director never said the club offered him out. It could have been Mendes whoring out his client just like he was linking Nani to Roma earlier in the summer.

I will be delighted if Nani stays. i never felt SAF used him properly playing him as a touchline winger, he is far more a goal scoring wide forward to me. A 4-2-3-1 with him on either side of whoever plays behind RVP will hopefully see him return to the form we saw a couple of years ago. The closer to the box he plays the more effective he will be in my view, so fingers crossed, a change of manager may give him a new lease of life.

Has he signed the effin contract, if we don't sign any new players but we manage to extend the contracts for Nani and Adnan i would be relatively okay with that?

I'm not bothered about him leaving like I used to be, it's not that I don't rate him, it's just that I think we could get rid of him and replace him relatively easily at a similar cost.

Obviously, I would rather keep him than replace him with, say, Di Maria simply for the sake of stablity, but if he does want to go I can't see it being a huge loss in terms of the overall squad quality.

We'd be selling him for a fee less than 10m with less than a year remaining on his contract. You are nuts if you think we can get a player of similar quality for that price

Yeah that's the one thing we are almost guaranteed not to do - replace him with anyone remotely near his ability even for another 10 million on top. There's no winger you can get for 20 million that is better than Nani, nevermind someone under 10 million.

Gf to Will Absolute: 'Alright Will, I'm pretty much ready for a good rogering every night of the week, and there'll be blowjobs on tap whenever you want. How does that sound?'

Will: 'feck off, I'm too busy praying that United will sign Fabregas.'

I'd have no idea why we'd sell that low. We might as well hang on to him and use him for a season rather than let him go that cheap.

My post was under the assumption that we could get a little shy of £20m for him, I wouldn't doubt that that sort of fee could get you Di Maria.

No chance you can get Di Maria for under 20million, if that's what you're saying.

Real Madrid clear out prices aren't usually that high, if you can believe Marca on the matter they seem to throw around a €25m fee. Hardly that far off a £20m figure.

Well, Madrid paid 25 million euros for Di Maria with a further 11 million euro's in incentives so 36 million altogether, and in the three years he has been there has assisted or scored 78 times in 138 games. There's no way Madrid would let him go for anywhere near £20 million, not at all.

Exactly. I'd still prefer just holding on to Nani though.

They signed Sneijder for €27m and let him go 2 seasons later for €15m, I think Di Maria has got 2 years left on his 5 year contract. If they signed Bale and Di Maria wanted to leave because of it I really don't think €25m is that unlikely a fee.

Not a very good comparison. Sneijder played 5 games in his last season, or 25 times in total for his last two seasons, and clearly was a failure at Madrid due to injury and absence from the team. Compared to Di Maria who played 59 times in his last season alone, and created 26 goals. Hell, Di Maria almost played more games in his last season that Sneijder did in his entire career for Madrid. They aren't going to sell Di Maria, a player who has been a success in his three seasons with some of the best figures in the league for a winger, for a 11 million euro loss, for no reason.

Personally wouldn't see the logic in letting Nani go for what I would imagine would be far less over a contract than what we are seemingly going to get from him transfer wise and then have to re-invest or just take a hit in the quality of the attack. Plus depending on how tight transfer funds are, would be a bit of a waste, needlessly investing in another winger when we've got someone who can be top quality and has shown that numerous times. But I suppose that depends on if there are other factors as to why theres been no contract extension beyond the money.
