Thanks, nice to hear. Although his freaking hamstring has become a bit of a problem hasnt it?

Ya, bit of a Michael Owen about it. It can only get stronger with gametime. Nothing replicates movement on the pitch and it is a tricky one to perfect at the best of times.

Very annoying. Especially as he was almost never injured before last year. And now it seems his hammy's a bit nervous all of the time.

Nani is one of the few midfielders in the world who can produce 20-30 goals/assists a season. It's imperative we get him fit for the most part of the season.

Well Fergie did say it was his first one and a bad one, so maybe his injury was a bigger part in his lack of game time than Fergie's perception of his form. I'm sure as he gets more game time he'll learn to manage it and he's got no one better than Giggs to ask for advice from over that sort of injury.

Hopefully. Glad he went off early enough today before it totally went.

Why does he get these hamstring issues? He looks about the fittest player in the squad, yet he struggles with these injuries. He's very fast, sure, but so is Ronaldo and he doesn't have them, nor can I remember Henry struggling with them either. I would believe it has something to do with running technique. You don't exactly see a lion chasing an antilope going "f***, my hammy is done."

Did nobody else think he looked like he'd been on Ronaldo's diet all summer? Looked like he's bulked up.

He's always been muscular - probably even more ripped than Ronaldo - both these players should bury the myth on gaining upper body strength makes you slower. Ridiculous that for those who have at least once in their life watched a 100m sprint.

No idea, he didn't have them before if I remember correctly, and went basically injury free between January 2010 and December 2012 (apart from the carragher horror tackle). The muscle injuries really started coming up last season I think.

That's what fergie said last season, think around Xmas that he got his first real hamstring injury and it was quite a bad one.

He's always been ripped but nowhere near Ronaldo size. He looked a lot broader and generally bigger the other night. I think there's definitely a limit on how much weight you can carry before your speed deteriorates.

Well they can feck off can't they...

Doesn't Nani have a year left on his contract? Sadly it is get what ever we can or let him sign a pre contract with another club in January. Personally I hope he stays especially if Valencia and Young are as woeful as they were last season.

If only that guy had been 15 pounds lighter, he would probably have been rather quick. It has more to do with how you work out, I think than your sheer weight. Even shot putters are actually tremendously fast on a 40m sprint, and they carry quite a bit of EXTRA wight too. Below 4.80 on a 40m dash is quite impressive, and quite normal for shot putters!

Ronaldo is probably a bit bigger than Nani, but your argument about speed is sort of moot with that one, isn't it as he is most likely faster than Nani too...

Ronaldos frame is naturally bigger considering his height and broadness, but Nani is definitely very strong - I have never seen him wrag dolled by any defender. Remember when he bounced off Ivanovic in that 50/50 shoulder barge? that's proof if anything!.

So is it confirmed that he is fit to play now? Will be a big blow if he misses the start if the season. We need all our tools going into this one.

I thought that was Valencia?

You're correct Adam, 100% was Nani at the start of 11/12 season. Valencia has done a similar thing to Baines in the past

Sigh, not available due to injury. :(

ooohh..got confused there.anyway that is a prove that nani is a strong player too..disappointed he is not going to be available for today's game. that freekick a week or two ago was superb.

Bit worrying with our start to the season that Nani, young and Valencia have all had little time, Kagawa as well. Fortunately Nani looked sharp in his half hour but always hard to properly assess. Hopefully he caught Moyes's eye as well.

Super Nani Skiulll..

Just watching this I bet it's been posted a hundred billion times. His freestyle skills are pretty sketchy. He just looks like he's built for Capoeira and reminds me so much like Eddie Gordo from Tekken. But without the hair obviously.

He'll probably wait a bit if he's been re-assured he wont be sold or offered around in this window, so I wouldn't panic.

Good to hear that he apparently wants to stick around. Him and Zaha in the same team is something me want see. Imagine that with Van Persie and Welbeck or Kagawa as well...they basically all need to be double marked because they can skip round one player wth regular ease.
