Although it's not looking likely, keeping him would be a good piece of business for us. Nani seems to me like he only wants to leave because of how little chances he had last season, and it did seem like he was being frozen out at times. He seems to always do well against Everton so hopefully Moyes saw how good he is and is prepared to trust him as a starter for us.

Not a good sign and unlikely to make him sign a long term contract here.

Will Valencia play considering what happened to Chucho Benitez?

Wasn't there news from the Norwegian fanbase that he's due to sign a new contract and that Moyes wants him to stay? I swear i read exactly that in this thread

That's just the sort of prank Sir Alex would play on him, so I doubt it.

RE that Daily Mail article - the sporting director simply states that he's been "proposed to them". That might very well be Nani's agent who's weighing up potential moves should Moyes deem him surplus to requirements.

A good sign that he's playing tonight though. I still have faith in him.

Zaha and Nani could be one lethal partnership on the wings, hopefully Nani stays and we shipped out shit players like Young and Anderson.

We are not selling him. There's no offers, everything is just pure media's storytelling.

Moyes and Rio said that we already have strong team, even without signings, which will eventually happen but the point is Nani is part of that squad, that's why Rooney will probably also stay.

Brilliant news if true. There is no winger we could have signed that has it in him to be as good as Nani is when given a chance. Him signing a new contract would be like a new signing really.

There was some guy from Monaco saying Nani was offered to them.

Hope he stays. Easily out best winger.

Elated if this turns out to be true. One of my favourite United players, is Nani. If we can get him back to the form he hit in the calendar years 2010 and 2011, we have one of the best in the business again.

I like that second goal above, too. He could have laid it off but showed the hunger to finish the move himself. He seems to have the bit between his teeth again. I've said it numerous times last season about how I'd love to see himself and Kagawa linking up regularly on the field of play. I'm sure Moyes would relish partnering those two behind van Persie.

Think it'd be massive if he stayed now. I feel like more of our support, that was previously indifferent towards him, realised how good he is since he's been looking like leaving, so we might get behind him better should he stay. I think that's what the guy has needed recently.

Love those goals. The sheer class and ease in which he strokes home the free kick, and the tenacity and composure for the second.

The news better be true. Can't believe how willing some people have become to write him off after just one year's bad form following almost two seasons of uninterrupted excellence. He'd be a massive loss if he went, and like a new signing if he could sign a new contract and start the season in good form.

Regardless of rather we end up making that CM signing or not, I'll be just happy to see Moyes hang onto Nani and get his head back in the game again. As others said, it would feel like a new exciting signing.

Agreed, would absolutely be buzzing if a fit and firing Nani was back in the side.. we could focus entirely on solving the left back and centre mid situation.

Yup, our wings would be sorted for the next few years with top class talent in Nani (who is still only 26), very good cover in Young and Valencia and an exciting young talent in Zaha, not to mention Kagawa who can play there or attacking midfield (preferably). If Nani were to leave then we'd be short of a top quality player on the wings, which he is.

Nani staying would be massive at this stage. It's looking like we're going to miss out on our main targets so we need to at least keep a hold of what we've got. Nani if fit is one of the first names on the team sheet IMO.

Just caught a post-match interview with him on SSN - just some generic stuff about how the club is different without Sir Alex. No question asked about his future - sports hacks really are useless

Our best winger and we are reluctant to keep a hold of him...

Pay the man what he wants, he obviously has the talent to back it up.

I've said this before but we'll struggle to bring in someone better than Nani if he were to leave.

He's a quality footballer and there's not many better wingers out there, especially ones which are available. Really hope he stays and signs a new contract.

 Great questions indeed. Esepecially as Moyes and Nani haven't even got to know each other at all.

The club must see something we don't because the idea of not giving him a new contract and selling him for a rather paltry fee, leaving us with Valencia, Young and Zaha, is fecking baffling to me.
