The club must see something we don't because the idea of not giving him a new contract and selling him for a rather paltry fee, leaving us with Valencia, Young and Zaha, is fecking baffling to me.
It is. I'd still keeps him over any of the others because his potential is outstanding. Surely, moyes would be very eager to work with such a talent and try and get him to his best? Because if that happens it greatly increases our titre chances. You have such a brilliant talent at the club, you have to try and make it work with him. Especially given we have a new manager.

Really hope so, the fact that Bale is perhaps going for 85m shows that letting him go for around 8.5m would be beyond a joke.

When asked about his ambitions for the upcoming campaign, the winger stated: "I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together."

Doesn't sound like he wants to leave?
I really like Nani, really hope he stays. Felt very sorry for him last season. His harsh sending off against Madrid hugely affected his end of season, must have been emotionally difficult to accept and we know he form depends of his self confidence.
Even if his inconsistency means he ends up just being a squad player, at his best, he is our best winger by far.

Can't fault his attitude from those quotes, hopefully it's true and we can make this official soon.

I am waiting to hear news of his signing a new contract. I won't mind us not signing anyone as long as that happens (or even signing a striker and another defender without signing a CM).

I genuinely believe Fergie dicked Nani around unnecessarily last season. Not sure the motivation and I'm sure Fergie did have at least some reason, but still.

Moyes seems much, erm, simpler in terms of playing his best players. Less political at least. Let's hope Nani can earn his starting place back.

As much as we like Valencia, he doesn't really work in a front 3 - when the wide players need to be able to move centrally, interchange and offer a goal threat themselves. Nani, Zaha and Young are more suited to that setup, which is what I believe Moyes will favour.

Having Nani and Zaha on either side of Kagawa supporting RVP is potentially a great attack, with genuine talent, pace and ability in abundance.

I'm not sure if dicked around is the right way to put it. Clearly Sir Alex had his issues with Nani, whatever they may have been. And he played less than it would seem he should have from a supporters point of view, especially when Valencia was playing poorly and Young wasnt pulling up trees on the other side. But I guess we have to assume it was a training issue or something sensible like that.

I thought it was really odd. When it came down to it, in our biggest game he picked him, but generally over the whole season it seemed like Nani was getting held to a much harsher standard than Valencia or Young. Valencia had probably as many ineffective/average games in that season as Nani has had probably in the last 3-4 seasons. Maybe Fergie was trying to make a point to him, but it seemed really odd. Tbf he was also injured a fair bit so that probably contributed.

I've always thought that the issues with him and Fergie have simply stemmed from not signing a new contract. SAF is always going to play someone who's directly in the long term future of the club over someone who's not, and I can't really fault him for that.

I'm not sure thats true at all. He picked Tevez when his future wasn't certain, over Berbatov at the end of the season. He picked Pogba at the end. Both times surely hoping to convince them they'll get playing time so they'll sign on.

You're probably right, the difference though with them situations is they had much less time to sort something out. Nani's contract negotiations started from around the same period that Tevez' loan spell lasted - 2 years or so. I've felt that we played hardball and expected Nani to give in - considering Valencia had just won POTY, we were in a decent position to say to Nani to take it or leave it.

It's be great if Moyes does get him to stay though, or he can do a Theo Walcott and force us to sign him up. Looking at his best spells, I think he can easily reach them again; and from the little we've seen he understands Kagawa well and plays the type of football that most people want to see.

I think he's staying. Looks like from those quotes at least.

I'm fairly confident he's staying. It's not like us to have an under 30 year old player in the last year of his contract but regardless I don't think he'd want to leave.

Realistically the only way is down if he leaves, seeing as Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern don't need him.

The contract issue will continue but he'll definitely be with us next season. In fact I'm fairly confident he and Rooney will be with us next season even if the latter has genuinely considered his future.

It's important we keep players in their mid 20s who have been around and seen it all. If we start allowing them to leave, we won't have many senior players with the know-how when the likes of Rio, Evra and Giggs are done.

Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together.

He's right about this. I want that 'one of the best wingers in the world' player back, and I'm sure Nani does too. If he finds that sort of form again, he'll be one of our best and most important players again.

He seems very shy both off and on the pitch, and I think his form is very reliant on confidence. I fecking hate the way Rooney bitches and moans at him on the pitch. He's like Wayne's own personal spacegoat sometimes, and I'm sure it does nothing for his confidence.

If he wants to stay he needs reduce his demands and sign a contract. He should have noted not many top teams require his services even at such reduced transfer fee quoted by various sources.

Hope he stays. Still think he's our best winger and for the money we'd get for him it wouldn't be worth selling him.

Moyes should offer him a new contract same wage with new bonuses if he meets targets - goals, assists, turning up the pressure when needed etc. Nani would be more motivated, and it would end any sort of lingering to the contract dispute.

Those two goals are something neither of our wingers apart from Nani can pull off. He must stay and I believe he and Rooney will both end up staying

Agreed on Rooney...really annoys me when the cnut yells at him for basically everything. It's another reason why I hope we sell him abroad

I think Nani on form is above all others we have and most in the world but, really Young is quite capable of great freekicks and I think any of our current wingers could pull off the 2nd goal, heck anyone in our reserves probably could have.

Nani is confident Manchester United has a bright future if the club continues to work on developing young players.
The winger was prevented from joining the rest of the United squad on their recent pre-season tour to the Far East and Australia due to injury, but by staying behind in Manchester he got the opportunity to watch some of the club’s younger players in action.
He scored twice as he made his return when a Manchester United XI ran out 2-0 victors at Crewe Alexandra and he was impressed with what he saw from the youngsters.
“I saw some good football from the team and a good attitude. There were a lot of goals from different players and the young lads did brilliantly on tour,” Nani told MUTV.
“That is nice for Manchester United – to have all these choices from the younger lads, who had the opportunity, and others have the chance to see if they can stay or go on loan for the future.”
Nani relished the chance to play alongside the younger players and he is confident they can develop into top class players with the right help.
“For me, it’s fantastic. I have been on that [other] side and know how the feeling is. I try to help all the time, as much as I can,” Nani went on.
“They are good lads and they helped us as well at Crewe. I feel that they played good football and think they are improving a lot as well over the years. I can see that the Academy has a lot of very good young players coming up and with strong personalities too so they can be ready to play in the Premier League.”

A revitalised Nani with a new contract is essentially a new signing. I really hope he stays.

Bloody hell, Nani seems to have matured a lot this summer if those comments are something to go by.

I love the fella but found him to be petulent and childish at times but he seems to have realised he is one of the senior players in the squad now and should lead by example

Really, when?

Really, when?

His attitude on the pitch.

He lets his head drop too early. And I have noticed that he has a go at younger players who don't make the right pass to him.

Like I said previously though I love him. I think he is an excellent player and would havehim any day over the one dimensional Valencia and Young. With a mture head on his shoulders I think he can be very productive.

Would love to see Nani-Kagawa-Zaha behind van Persie next season

I agree, maybe on the pitch sometimes, but off the field he's always been respectful in his interviews.

Genuinely that shocks me... When you cite his 'attitutude on the pitch' what do you mean?

And I haven't seen him shout at younger players, but what do you want him to do? Shake their hand... people have emotions, I'd say that makes him a perfectionist, not petulant.
