Indeed, it's fantastic that the manager who decided in December to retire had, in March, a list of players he'll sell when the season ends. And they take pride of it. Incredible.

They didn't list their source but said it was Moyes who convinced him to stay. I'm not utterly convinced before he signs a new contract, but hopefully there is some truth to this. I think he can truly be great under Moyes who prefers his wingers to tuck inside a bit. Even Young might benefit from that...

Is this all based on what Goal are saying?

How dare you be so cynical. Why wouldn't the people of Norway be the first to know if a Portuguese footballer based in England about to join his team mates in Australia was going to stay?

I'd be over the moon if he's staying. One of my favourite players to watch at United.

Goal. com are even worse than twitter at times.

Just read this part in that article: "Goal's special report back in March revealed that Nani was part of a group of players, including Antonio Valencia, Chicharito, Anderson and Anders Lindegaard, who then manager Sir Alex Ferguson was prepared to offload while Galatasaray were known admirers before giving up their pursuit after a failed £6 million bid."

Ridiculous!

Anyway, I think that Nani will stay. There doesn't seem to be a good offer for us to sell him, so likely he'll stay here, which I think is great cause he's our best winger.

Edit: Damn you Hectic.

You sarcastic sob - Damn you for forcing me into playing this card: don't you think our oil-money could get us the intel on what the bloody hell we want to get intel on? Besides, Scotland is very similar to Norway and we used to rule half of England - it all adds up.

The story comes from a freelance journalist who also writes for the Sunday Times. Would this article be believable if it'd been written in the Times instead but by the exact same person?

Duncan Castles has repeated this news and has also said that Chelsea, city, Arsenal and Liverpool have been in for him this summer.

Would be funny if true, their fans delusion have clearly spread to the club if they really think they have a chance at luring Nani to sign for them.

Valencia - 240 games (35 subs) - 74 goals or assists - 3.2 games to score/assist
Nani - 267 games (67 subs) - 118 goals or assists - 2.2 games to score/assist
Ribery - 294 games (37 subs) - 176 goals or assists - 1.6 games to score/assist
Robben - 221 games (46 subs) - 139 goals or assists - 1.5 games to score/assist

How many years are those stats over?

Stickles your being pretty harsh on Nani here, I understand your frustrations but he has proven what he can do. There is no speculation when playing week in week out he is one of the best wingers in the league. He has come off an injury hit season and he still managed to show his quality in limited minutes, he is a better player than Young and Valencia who are one dimensional. We should be happy no too many teams want him, I don't think Di Maria is much better and it would cost quite a lot to replace his quality. With Nani in the side the football we player is better and we have another matchwinner on the field.

Really hope this is true especially if Rooney is leaving, really think it's being underestimated how much these two have contributed over the last couple of seasons.

So much swag. I'm always amazed by that pass to Rooney (second goal). Great vision and execution.
