It's so odd that even having signed a five year deal during the summer, there's still constant speculation about him going to other clubs. Inter are the latest club to be linked this morning. I'm at the point where I have no clue whether it's lazy journalism or we're genuinely interested in selling him.

I'm of the opinion Moyes isn't too fond, but that's due to him not playing a lot which obviously injuries haven't helped toward.

I'd keep him, and play him, on his day he's our best winger, and as he gets older, I'd love to see some consistency to his game/ injury record

I still dream of

__________Persie
Januzaj_Kagawa_Mata_Nani

Moyes has given most of our squad a real chance to prove themselves, but not Nani.

TBF, he's mostly been injured. Since signin the contract, when he's been fit Moyes has actually played him fairly consistently, other than the 4-match "freeze out" after the Stoke match.

I don't agree that dropping him at that point was fair of Moyes, but maybe he wanted to see a specific development in training before bringing him back in. But he certainly hasn't ignored him as much as it feels like he has.

Rumours of talks going on with Inter now, loan move being suggested. Admittedly my source is not the most reliable!

Well Moyes chose a group of players he knows at the start of the season and who he trusted to get us through those games. He picked Valencia and Young straight away. Later on Kagawa and Nani came in for a couple of matches but the initial trust and selection of Valencia and Young said and still says everything. They are the players Moyes wants to use and it'll be occasional games for Kagawa and Nani

I'll settle for the player he's already proved he can be.

That's my point. There's this myth that Nani's a world class player that can emerge if he's given enough time etc. He had a great run of form 2 or 3 years ago, but that's it. Same with Valencia. Form is temporary, class is permanent etc.

Hardly a fair comparison. Valencia's played almost every game for the last couple years. Nani's been injured for half that time and the other bit of it he's been in and out of the team.

It's not really a direct comparison, just pointing out that Valencia was in a purple patch when he won PotY.

I think Rooney smashing in everything he put in the box helped him a lot that season.

I act like he's not even part of the squad anymore. When's the last time he had an impact? I'd be fine with letting him go based on his injury record alone.

Does a purple patch really last for 18 months and only end when you take a nasty tackle and are injured for a while? I remember Rooney's best form used to come and he'd play really well and then he'd get injured. Then he'd come back from injury, need time after getting fit and take ages to get his momentum back, but then he'd get going to his best again until he once again got injured. That wasn't Rooney having a purple patch, that was Rooney being played back into fitness and form. Something we never, ever, do with Nani so its no surprise he hasnt emulated that spell. Once you know that a player can reach a certain level and maintain if for more than a season you should be giving them every chance to repeat the trick, we do it for some players but not for Nani.

Beyond belief that Valencia gets picked ahead of him. Sounds like another Fabio to me, Moyes just doesn't seem to rate him.

December 17th 2013 vs Newcastle or Away to Bayer Leverkusen November 27. Cant you remember more than a month and a half?

Couple of games is not much of an impact. Try ingesting the full meaning of my comment as a whole instead of leaping to antagonistic three year old behavior.

I guess you're going to ignore the point I made as a whole and continue with the three year old stuff.

Pass.

If this is true then what was the point in giving him the 5 year contract?
At the time I thought it was a bit weird seeing as he pretty much had packed his bags after that game vs Madrid but I figured it was just so we could get a better price for him

Moyes needs a lobotomy if he is seriously willing to let Nani go, and keep the shitness that is Valencia

Valencia is useful to the team even when he's average, on the other hand you have Nani who on an off day makes you want to cry and he has a lot of those days.

Valencia has been average about 5 times in the past two years, the rest of the time he has been shit.

We could get more joy with Phil Jones on the wing. Serious

Not the same at all. Nani's not had a consistent run of games since that 'purple patch', due to strange managerial decisions and several injuries. Also, not a myth. Everyone here is wanking over Mata's productivity. Nani's in the 2 years before the injuries were comparable.

If Nani just like Ando really leaving us for Italy, Moyes really must have something solid secured.

Seriously, we just sent Wilf on loan. I feel it may be another stressful last moments of the window or I just overreacting in a panic mood.

Nani is still extremely gifted player despite all the things... If Young and Valencia can receive countless chances why the hell guy like Moyes would give up on him ?

Let me see if i can get this straight, Moyes wouldn't let Zaha go to Cardiff because Nani and Young were injured, yet he is about to about to loan out Nani anyway?

And why didn't we just sell him in the summer instead of offering the guy a new deal?

If Moyes could get Nani in good form he is the sort of player i could see doing well alongside Mata, more so than Young or Valencia at any rate. Two season ago he was voted Player of the Season by his team mates IIRC, such a pity how things have turned out.

A 5-year contract was madness from Moyes/Woodward

I hope he stays for the next months at Old Trafford.......and if he's fit and plays then he must play very very well

Otherwise he can go in the summer

Too many players (like Nani) were average in the last 2 years........70% of the players must go in the summer

The club had to protect his value. They couldn't even get 10m for him in the summer. Now on a new deal, we can get a decent fee for him.
