I don't think he meant, "are you pleased for them". I think he meant, "are you happy WITH them", as in, are you happy with what we have in attack if just Kagawa joins our current crop of attackers.

I may be wrong though but that's how I read it.

Ah, in that case the answer is still no, I have question marks over Hernandez and Young and Welbeck is still developing, the fact he started so often to me was an issue.

Competition is not always good, too many cooks can spoil the broth. Yeah we need to add creativity, which Kagawa will provide.

I think adding a couple of more versatile attacking players (Kagawa ***) would be ideal given the limitations of Hernandez and the fact Valencia can only play direct down the right.

Anyone else happy for our attacking player now that we haven't actually signed Hazard?

Yes. We should be building a team around Nani not forcing him out of the club.

He really is following in Ronaldo's footsteps

Manchester United star Nani has confessed he could quit Old Trafford.

Nani said he could leave after five glorious years, as talks over a new contract appear to have hit a deadlock.

The 25-year-old winger said: “I have had five seasons at Manchester United and have won all the titles.

"Now I am really happy, but I don’t know about my future.

"Now I will study opportunities. Football is not only about England or Spain. It is possible to enjoy success in other countries.

“My agent is waiting on news about United. We have presented a counter-offer and now we are waiting on an offer from the club.”

It will be a huge blow for United to see the future of a player who also claimed he is alongside fellow Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the best in the world thrown into doubt.

Nani’s warning comes on top of them missing out on the Premier League title on the final day of the campaign.

The winger told Portuguese television station RTP: “It was a great pain to miss the Premier League title in the final minutes of the match. City were incredible with their luck.

“I can only hope that this Euro Championship is my Euro, and I am working hard for that with Portugal.

“My challenge is to be the best, be the number one and show that on the field.

"Myself and Cristiano make up two of the best wingers in the world and our statistics for our club show that.”

Standard contract negotiations.

He's one of our premium players, and should be compensated accordingly.

Given his ability he deserves to be in line with higher paid players. I'm sure the club will pay it too.

Yup I hope we give him whatever he wants as long as it's not over the top. He's our 2nd most important attacking player and we can't afford to lose him.

It's only June 1st but I'm already a bit sick of players playing games with us. He can go feck off.

Sign it or feck off.

Is every player a cnut these days?

Are you parodying this muppet?

Playing what games? We presented him with a contract offer. He and his agent have offered a different contract. He might want a wage rise, bonus rise, longer contract, shorter contract, who knows? All we know from those quotes is they've proposed a counter offer. All it takes is for the club to say, 'yes, this is reasonable, deal' and this becomes an absolute non-story.

He also said it's possible to enjoy success in other countries aside from Spain and England. Actually yeah you're right. This means he's definitely going to Juventus the fecking prick. Sell him now while we still have the chance.

He's bound to want a decent contract when Rooney's on 185k a week or whatever it is.

Aye, when Rooney threatens leaving United unless he gets close to 200k a week, it's not surprising to see non-Brits wanting to re-negotiate as well - especially key players like Nani. Nothing shocking.

Its not even like he is re-negotiating just after Rooney.. its been 20 months.. He is due a new contract with his current one running out.

Every player does this.. Normal behavior.

He deserves a new contract and we have to pay top salaries if we're going to retain quality players like Nani. I expect he will sign a new contract, I doubt SAF will want to lose him.

I'm not one to say I told you so, so I won't once it's happened but do remember the grief I got for letting you know he was going to leave, when I did, some time ago.

I am looking forward to a more appropriate tag line.

I even don't believe he said this, everyone who read his interviews will know this isn't his style. He doesn't even like to talk about Ronaldo, he said that 100 times, so I don't believe he would come up with something like this.
Plus he said few weeks ago he can't wait to rennew his contract, so I don't see reason why would he say something like this.

Im sure Fergie would be more than happy to trade him in if it meant getting a World class central midfielder in exchange for the money we get for him!

It's fecking annoying to see that sort of article and those quotes, but he's only going to go elsewhere and set that league alight if we don't give him what he wants.

In today's game, there's a lot to be said for building this team around someone of Nani's style and quality. He is a player we simply cannot afford to lose.

One of the best players in the league, peak years ahead this should be his main contract.

Got to pay him inline with the top earners, hope we do he deserves it.

After what Rooney pulled its gotta be expected and frankly given what Nani can do we should cough up. Nani frightens defenders. If he could nail down his shot accuracy he'd score a ridiculous amount of goals. He's got so much potential and you say there's still more to come out of him. Needs signing up.

How about

'more full of crap than a medieval cesspit'

or

'more full of crap than a Monday morning Glastonbury toilet'

Seriously? The same person who said that you used intuition and interpreted things when your name was changed? I used to stick up for you but your a joke.

Meh, I'm not worried about Nani - We're good with Mendes ;)

A month ago or so, the italian media reported that nani's brother (and not mendes) was in milan trying to find a club for nani.

The feck? If true, don't think the portuguese Ari Gold would approve !

Bad timing from Nani to try and negotiate himself a mega-contract. His overall performance level last season hasn't exactly strengthened his hand. With Valencia nailing down the right wing slot and Young finishing the season strongly (plus Kagawa presumably capable of playing wide) Nani's not looking as indispensible as he did in 2010/11.

Hopefully something will be sorted though. On his day he's unplayable.

Agreed. And my impression is that in Fergie's eyes Nani is not Rooney...although he seems to play exactly the same game Rooney's agent last year.

It's true that on his day he's unplayable but he also also very inconsistent - something which he may improve upon as he continues to mature.

I don't know what he's on but he should be one of our top earners. As for timing, Rooney set the precedent I guess. He played like dog shit, threw a hissy fit and got a nice contract for his efforts.

Nani is nowhere near as important a player for us as Rooney is though.
