He was poor already against Stoke, one of his worst games this season. He was poor against Spurs as well except for the last minutes of the game.

He'll come good again. He's lavishly talented but his mentality could stop him from becoming one of the best players in the world. There isn't enough intelligence in his game.

This season, no player has been consistently on form. First it was Scholes who was brilliant in the first games. Then it was Berbatov. The next was Nani, then Chicharito had excellent moments. Then Vidic and Park. Rooney and Giggs could be the next.

An assist and a goal has me hoping he's that poor in every game

Didnt have much space today. Plus, not getting a ball from Berbatov at all doesnt help either

I'll add that to the list of things that are Berbatov's fault, along with global warming and terrorism

Rangers playing with a flat back 11 dosent exactly help make you shine.

For me though he is doing the simple things much better so even when he isn't ripping teams apart he is still an important part of our team.

Always wants to be a threat, which is commendable.

I just wrote him a song, unfortunately highlighting the less desirable aspects of his game. I've left out the obvious chorus, as everyone knows it. Sing along....

Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry...it's Nani
In every game he takes some knocks
and then reacts like they've cleaned his clock
Don't worry, it's Nani

Ain't got the pace to beat defenders?
Then just fall down end over end-er
Don't worry, it's Nani
The referee say "get up, don't fake"
Just lie there and hold your face
Don't worry, it's Nani

He isn't hurt, he just feels pain
In such a way as can't be explained
Don't worry, it's Nani
And every time Nani goes down
All the other players frown
Don't worry, it's Nani

To continue the theme...

Hey, Nani
Don't be afraid
Get to your feet
And you'll feel better
Just remember
You've probably not hurt your chin
So suck your lip in
And make it
Better
Better
Better
Better
Better
Better
Better
Yeah yeah yeah
Naaaah naaah naaah nah nah nah naaaaaaaah
Nah nah nah naaaaaaaah
Naniiiiiiiiiiiiiii

He's on fire - ... at Rooney and Berbatov - not going to be the best winger if they keep ignoring him.

fecking hell, he was beyond brilliant today. He was basically given a free role at times. He bum-raped Chimbonda.

I felt sorry for him in the first half, Berbatov and Rooney completely ignored him. Berba would rather pass to an opposition player than to Nani

Worth mentioning that Nani and Berbatov were like two teenagers in love in the second half whenever Berba scored.

At one point, Berbatov and Nani smiled at each other and passed the ball to each other, so I knew all good in Old Trafford Wonderland

One is apathetic and the other is madly in love?
Berba is the boy who doesn't give 2 shits about the girl and Nani is the girl who desperately wants attention from Berba but is instead completely ignored!

On a more serious note, it was nice to see them link up a bit more than usual in the second half.

Great today. Rooney's movement and ability to pass the ball helped Nani and Berbatov to shine today.

He's absolutely right as well. When his light is shining as much as it was today he can become one of the best in the world in his position.

And the cool celebrations are back as well :)

He needs to knock that on the head, he very nearly went over on his ankle doing that today!

I blame the fan who in a Q/A asked Nani why he never does the flips any more. Nani then promised the fan that he would do it again - the "non-shoulder"-version, or something like that.

I've decided Rahul was that fan.

Rahul, if Nani injures himself with that celebration it's officially your fault.

Frightening to think what his goal and assist tally will be at the end of the season.

I fear that only then will people look at him and accept that, yeah, actually, he's pretty fecking awesome.

How good was he today? I love Valencia but man, He doesn't touch this guys deeds on the right flank.

I was actually thinking - man with Valencia wonder how much more raped Chimbonda would have been? Lets not forget the first goal came from Nani on the left as well.

When Tony V comes back, I think Nani will be just as good, if not better on the left. Whoever plays down the left on the wing for us has a license to roam inside which will suit Nani very well. With this confidence and ability right now and Valencia on the right - it will be scary good.

To be fair hes been doing this for a year now and still the usual stereotype stuff emanates from the commentators and pundits on a regular basis, its amazing to think Bale is considered favourite for the player of the year award and being named in all these Fifpro shortlists on the back of a few dazzling displays when Nanis done this sort of thing for a long time now.

The power of the press i suppose, if Nani were born on these shores hed be hailed the next George Best you can bet your bottom dollar.

He's already one of the best in the world in his position. It's only a matter of time before he starts competing for the very highest individual honours, in my opinion.

He is very inconsistent though but if he can perform like this consistently he can be a world class player. He can be very frustrating at times and his play acting and lying on the floor rolling around after being hardly touched is something he needs to wipe out of his game to get the respect needed to be named on all those award lists.

Nah. People just tend to look at his theatrics and completely ignore the player he is.

It'll take a season of Ronaldo levels for people to recogdnize that he's actually not shit.
