£30m is way too much.

Why are we after another winger?

Chelsea paid £25m for Oscar who is a better player in his position than Moura is in his.

I hope we don't sign him for a ridiculous amount.

Has anyone considered that SAF might have stayed back for a completely different reason?

Remember last year when it was reported that Gill was off to Italy to sign up Sneijder? Turns out he was attending a club directors conference in Switzerland or something.

Maybe SAF is staying back for a completely unrelated reason.

Until it's announced by the club, I think we can ignore the rumours.

It's not inconceivable that the journalist just reverse engineered this one, i.e he heard Fergie won't be present at the friendly so he invented the 'medical soon for no. 1 target' story. He could just as well be filming a Chevy advertisement for all we know :p

Hehe, when it looked unlikely it's because we're shit and now that it looks likely it's because he's shit. What happened to our fan's swagger?

I expect a denial from Sao Paulo or from Utd side anytime soon.

The fact that they haven't poo, pooed this new rumor yet is certainly promising. I say yet because obviously there is still time, but they have usual quashed any rumor fairly sharpish. *unzipping slowly but surly*

People who don't spend their days infesting every inch of transfer forum often just check the last page of a thread for updates.

Yes and most of the time you can tell if there has been some sort of development that caused the current discussion and I would usually go back and have a look for the first post relating to it.

Could be that he's cutting back on travelling , like he told reporters.

To be fair, Fergie has often chatted shit to reporters. :D

it could be many things but why would bob cass willing make himself look like a knob by committing to it the way he has? Think the wheels are turning on this one.

Agreed. As an experienced muppet,I m convinced this story have legs. Another plus point for us is the way Sao Paulo dismissed Inter Milan's offer.

On the other hand according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter expect "a positive" response from Lucas by August 16 (their last attempt ?)

and some twatters are saying that no fee has been agreed with Sao Paulo yet.

that's probably why they're twatters :)

Gambit and I called it as a good as done deal a little while back. Ill stick with that.

I think they just picked up the story from Dailymail without any official confirmation of theirs

They re saying that they agreed a fee with Sao Paulo but still have to agree with Lucas (or better with his agent). My impression is that Inter Milan's hope all rest on convincing Lucas telling his club that he prefers to go to Italy and then hope that they convince Sao Paulo to accept a smaller transfer fee - which is highly unlikely imo. Maybe that's why they are considering plan B - which is Gaston Ramirez of Bologna (the dippers also want him apparently).

So if we sign Lucas we might hit 2 birds with one stone :)

I'm happy with this signing as long as Nani stays and Cleverley has an injury free season :nervous:

So is it a fact that he can only the play on the right wing? If that's the case I'm baffled as to why we are signing him what with Valencia getting number 7 etc. Are you lot sure ha cant play CM?

We are just going to keep signing wingers forever it seems.

We replace Obertan with Young.
We might be replacing park With Moura.

Personally I see the second one more important than Nani staying (assuming we sign Lucas)

Weird to have a medical on Sunday. I hope Fergie gives Bob Cass another bollocking when he sees him again for getting us all excited and then end up with nothing
