I think he just said the lack of left sided players means Nani won't leave. What's wrong with that??

I thought he was responding to me by saying that Valencia and Lucas both play right wing so Nani might be leaving.

Feck knows what he meant, probably what you said.

Nope didnt even read your post. I did quote Ekeke mate I thought that would have been a tiny clue.

Yeah I was talking about Ekeke's post as well, the same one nm03 was talking about and the same one I had literally just replied to.

Was pretty obvious buddy.

So obvious you missed it the first time. Lead on guiding light I await further enlightenment from because you have a buzz about you like a duracell bunny working in a vibrator factory.

Isnt the argument against Valencia on the left that he's all right foot? Lucas always goes for his right as well. Plus he doesnt play there

From what we've seen at the Olympics he clearly only plays on the right wing exclusively. He is also very right footed. Similar player to Valencia.

Daily Mail saying he's having his medical today.

Now Telegraph's also reporting the same.

Manchester United poised to sign £30m Lucas Moura from Sao Paolo
Manchester United hope to complete the £30 million signing of Brazil winger Lucas Moura in the next 48 hours.

Moura was due to travel to Manchester for a medical today ahead of sealing his move from Sao Paolo. He is currently in this country as part of the Brazilian Olympic squad.

Ferguson remained in England yesterday while his team travelled to Norway for a friendly on Sunday.

The Scot is also applying pressure in his attempt to sign Robin van Persie from Arsenal.

Nemanja Vidic is poised to make his first appearance in nearly eight months to ease a potential defensive crisis for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Vidic, the Manchester United captain, will play some part in a friendly in Oslo today as he bids to step up his recovery from the ruptured cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered in United’s Champions League defeat by Basle last December.

Do people actually read the thread before posting?

Anyway, back to the topic. £30 million seems extremely high for an unproven Brazilian, I'm hopping alot of it is addons. £30m is approaching Modric, Neymar probably won't go past 40-45m and he's a much better player / prospect.

yeah but he's got caps and he would be at one of the best places to develop. Modic doesn't sound he wants to play here. feck him. As it is, he's close to his peak. With Lucas, we can mold him. As for Neymar, great talent but he'd only cost 40/45 because he knows where he wants to go. In an open market, it could be much higher when you consider the potential there.

Lucas having a quiet Olympics will have delighted Sir Alex. I hope that continues.

Neymar would be much higher than £40m or £45m in an open market? How?

Wouldn't want Neymar with his shit hair and falling over routines and what about the cold nights at Stoke? Lucas is obviously made of sterner stuff with a no nonsense haircut and the perfect blend between skills and end product. Fergie knows his onions!

alot more clubs would make bids. The fact he seems destined for spain aka Madrid or Barcelona restricts what his club can make off him. Madrid less so, but certainly Barcelona can afford to be patient because right now they're the best team in world football.

And he'd be valued much higher than £45m? Much higher than £45m is £60m+. No way in hell he'd ever be valued that highly.

30m makes me queasy. Its far too much money to be paying for an unproven teenager. Having said that, from what we've seen of him, he looks exactly the type of player that will thrive in our system since he is an out and out winger with terrific pace, decent trickery and is solidly built.

The only problem I have is why we need another right footed winger? Especially one that is so similar to Valencia.

I can see Neymar going for £50m or more, would be a better use of money than Barca buying Ibra.

I can't. His contract at Santos runs out in 2014 and knowing Barcelona they'll wait another year and make a €25m or €30m bid that'll be accepted.

I expect his club to deny any deal for Moura, wont be surprised if they came out and said they are negotiating a new improved contract.

You'd be surprised. If the kid can work on his shooting, I don't see why not. The way the game is going? Madrid payed 80 for C Ronaldo. It depends. I doubt many people would have thought Zidanes record fee would have been broken by Ronaldo when we bought him all those years ago and I doubt many people would have believed Barcelona would have bought Ibrahimovic for the money that they did.

I thought I saw earlier in the thread that he plays on the wing because that is where his manger puts him but he prefers to be more central.

Well I admit that my knowledge of him is mainly from watching the Olympics and the various youtube clips in which he plays for Sao Paolo. So I can only really conclude that he spends most of his time predominantly on the right wing. Although it might makes things more interesting if he is able to play in a central position. You'd probably know better than me.

30 million is crazy yes but he's young and he will have a resale value. It's worth it. If it was 30 million for naymar then people would be wanking. Why? Cause they can see why he'd be worth that. If Lucas has a stunning olympics, it'd be nothing. 30million? A STEAL!. Look how people took to Oscar who went to Chelsea. Great player. We missed out..etc

We have to wait and see our plans for the player. From a central position, the way he carries the ball he could give us another dimension. He'd be a great option to have. I think it would be a shame to tie him down as a winger. When Giggs went central, we got added creativity through the middle. With Nani, Valencia etc - Lucas with Kagawa, Cleverly, Carrick etc..could be amazing for us.

Er, no...:wenger:

Edit: see the post above...

Some people are not interested in the latest news or other peoples opinions, they just like to spout their own brand of shite, each to their own.

I'm not sure how people work out tht Nani must be leaving based on rumours that we're signing Lucas.

Why would we would replace Nani with someone who'll take a year to settle, and then 3-5 years developing his game in the same way Nani did after he joined? If we signed him it'd be on his own merit as a prospect.

Actually you can already guarantee there'd be a couple of years of the caf slagging and writing him off as a failure if he did sign. In fact it's already sort of started.
