ffs. First the good news with his parents talking about how he only wants to join us and now this.

Bit weird as in the same report it has morrati saying nothing is decided as talks are ongoing.

It goes to the bitter end. The negotiation continues for Lucas and SkySport24 speaks of an advanced stage. Marco Branca is in talks with the leaders of St. Paul and there is talk of a standard agreement for twenty-seven million euros with the bonus (performance related) could reach up to 32 mln. This is the offer for the Brazilian playmaker.

Inter's technical director is working operation, while the player has made it known to prefer the team Inter. Missing at this point only ok President Massimo Moratti . Only he can give the authorization and permission to proceed with the manager to close the deal if it finds that the price is right for a young class '92. Lucas at this point seems to be close to Inter, but because all you have to still wait materialize.

Who knows. We also thought we bid 30 mil for hazard when we actually didn't. wouldn't be surprised if our bid was lower

IF true, does it mean we are crap at negotiations or simply good at window shopping?

Inter have just gotten investment so it might be true and even if not it could just be a ruse to try get us to up our bid.

what is with everyone. We've had rumours linking us and all we got is 'i don't believe it'. Then a rumour of Inter and it's accepted by everyone. Some even gloating in it. fecking weirdos.

That's the Caf way.

Well sky reported it thats why I assume

It's not though. I'm chief cheerleader in this shit but it's just weird now. It' almst as if some would be happier imagining that we're some relegation fodder in leaue 3 or something and when the first sign of affirmation of their beliefs occur they hoard on here giving it the I told you so. Then they also have a go at Ferguson. What the hell is going on? We lost the league by a goal difference but those that make out we're poverty stricken seem to prefer the idea that they're right in their belief over the truth.

I'm fecking ashamed of our fans at the moment and I'm a muppet of the highest order.

If it is true that he wants United, then they can accept Inter's bid all day long, Lucas has the final say!

SkySports 24 reporting that Inter's offer for €27m+add-ons (total 32m) is accepted. Which obviously means no sense as apparently our higher offers were rejected by them.

Doubt it.

Its more than likely that we offered a similar amount but one that depended heavily on add ons. Whereas Inter offered more cash upfront.

It's Sky Sports Italia, not Sky in the UK. Italian press will make up any old bullshit to try and sway things in Italian football's favour, not worth wasting a breath on IMO.

Well that's the modern fan for you, deluded by FM and wanting instant results on the transfer market. It used to be fun on a transfer window, seeing who's linked United and keeping our fingers crossed for big name signing. These days if a name is mentioned and nothing is done within 48hrs then the deal is off, he never wanted to join us, we can't afford him, Glazers fault... Might as well slit our wrists in the process.

I think it's possible we offered them as much but they wanted to squeeze more money out of us, and we stopped our interest there. Then Inter came with a slightly worse bid but had it accepted because Sao Paulo didn't want to repeat their mistake.

My favorite transfer windows for muppetry were early noughties when all you had to go on was the work of the tabloids and the excellent teletext service.

Why wouldn't they just tell us they'll accept our offer afterall? I'm sure its not like FM where the deal can't happen once a bid has been rejected.

It's the new breed of muppet; he who salivates over the prospect of more ammunition for the argument that we can't compete in the transfer market. Hearing a rumour that another club have had a relatively low bid accepted is music to this creature's ears.

The truth is that there are hundreds of players who you might very well have signed over the last 20 years but didn't for reasons ranging from failed medicals to silly wage demands (Wenger estimated 400 in his time at Arsenal)

Our fans are pessimists. Its not a big deal.

This is Sao Paulo director De Cunha said a week or two ago.

"Manchester United have made a very important proposal, exactly equal to €35 million. They should offer a few more. For me, there is only Lucas after Neymar and we do not want to sell.

"Why should we deprive ourselves? We do not need the money - the Brazilian economy is fine, the tv pay us and we cannot complain.

"Better to have a great player than cash in the bank."

So either he was lying or Inter's offer hasn't been accepted or indeed that their offer is more than we were offering.

Like I said its possible that our offer was heavily based on future incentives whereas Inter offered more cash upfront.
