If FIFA / UEFA are seriously concerned with the financial elements of the game, they should be setting up something to tackle the parasitic cancer that is the football agent

I don't understand why Blatter et al are more concerned with the likes of Cameroon wearing sleeveless shirts (I know it was many moons ago) but do nothing about spiraling wages and greedy agents. At least the US sports get this right - club/team salary controls and agents are paid by the player, as it should be. The agent is employed by the player not the club (though there is some mention a few agents are sort of employed by a club).

Surely there is scope for a not-for-profit impartial agency to represent players interests - an international PFA or something? It's the greed of the agents which is the main issue and could be eradicated instantly

that's purely a case of re-arranging the deckchairs. The agents fee is taken care of within the players wage demands. Not unlike a free set of steak knives with a new kitchen unit. Frustrating in PSG case because yet again, it appears we're doing the scouting for a financially doped club. Chelsea, City and now PSG.

This is not so much an issue of agents fee as an issue of transfer fee (seeing as the agent directly owns 30% of him, as opposed to in Hazard's case where the agent was just demanding some money as well).

I generally agree though. Perhaps outlawing bonuses/payments between clubs and agents as part of transfer deals? Although I'd imagine then that would lead to agents getting in players ears so that they'll ask for silly(/sillier) money seeing as they have to pay the agents themselves.

I don't want to tar all agents with the same brush to be fair - some of them generally do spend their time looking for their clients best interests (for example, Valencia's old agent, before he got rid of him). Unfortunately they're all given a bad name thanks to cnuts like Stretford and Raiola.

I still don't see how an individual or company can "own" a player. I can understand when clubs have the player's rights or whatever it's called but FIFA should outlaw this ownership of a player by an individual/company. This is is basically slave trade (albeit with millions of dollars at play and the player is actually well compensated).

Strange that the source of all of this PSG stuff is Morrati.

It isn't very professional of him is it? Releasing info of another teams transfer negotiations. Not to mention why the feck he knows anyway.

So in the last four-five days, we've heard Inter have agreed a deal for him, United have agreed a deal for him and PSG have agreed a deal for him.

He'll be one busy player.

And his agent has rejected every story, saying they are all telling lies.

I think its clear that 99% of stuff said is a load of B.S.

We just have to remain patient and hopefully it will come good.

I sort of hope we don't sign him now, at least then I'll be reassured that we'll actually try and hold on to Nani.

The two situations are not linked in the slightest. Why are they constantly so?

PSG aren't trying to buy him because of his talent or the possibility they might need him, it's just a way for them to show they compete with the best of Europe in terms of signings.

How do you know that?

Because Leonardo told me so ... More seriously, I heard it on the Radio from decent french journalists. They said it was more of a coup than a true need to buy Lucas. This way they send a signal to the rest of Europe "we can grab a player from any other big team"

That was my first reaction as well. I think they've pulled the same trick with Real Madrid over Modric.

It works even if they don't buy the player in the end, or the player doesn't accept the deal. It gets the owning club excited by how much money they can make, encouraging unrealistic valuations, and puts pressure on the real bidders to bid high or pull out.

The media say alot of things to be honest. PSG need Moura more then we do. The boy is a winger and we've got Nani, Valencia, Young, Kagawa and Giggs there.

He's also a playmaker on the wing.....and we don't really have any of those, except a part time Giggs, whos as much a part time CM as he is a part time wing playmaker.

Fergie tell em to shove it, move on to RVP and we will leave it at that for this summers transfer activity, its becoming a merry-go-round. Roll on the start of the season please. :boring:

They may "need" him more than us but at the same time they have Nene,Menez and Lavezzi. They weren't interested in him except for the last few days

Sao Paulo have confirmed that Paris Saint Germain have made contact over in-demand forward Lucas Moura.

Manchester United have already bid for the teenager this summer, whilst Inter Milan have also spoken to the 19-year-old.

However, neither United nor Inter have been able to meet Sao Paulo's demands - which are reportedly around £45million (£35.7million).

Inter chief Massimo Moratti said on Tuesday that PSG had indeed made a bid which matched Sao Paulo's valuation.

Now speaking to France-based newspaper Le 10 Sport, Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has confirmed PSG have made contact.

Interest

"We have been probed by PSG about Lucas," he admitted.

The Brazilian club's official also confirmed that former Sao Paulo star and current PSG sporting director Leonardo was in regular contact.

"Leonardo has a very good relationship with Sao Paulo. But for now nothing is definite," he added.

It is believed that PSG's offer would see Moura remain in Brazil until January, but Lopes says the player will make the final decision on his future.

"The possibility exists but it is down to the player's interests. The policy of Sao Paulo is to follow the desires of the player. If the player wishes to leave, Sao Paulo will not create any obstacle. But we must receive a proposal that is appropriate," he said.

"It's a financial issue. Paris Saint-Germain is a big club in European football and if the player's interests and also the club's are met, I do not see why it would not happen."

Its off.

.. or they're trying to squeeze us for a few more quid, and have somehow managed to get Morrati in on their plans.

PSG better be a 5 star team on FIFA13, otherwise they will ruin the online experience!

I wonder if after first choice Hazard, second choice Lucas, we will finally give up on that type of player and go for a central midfielder/leftback instead.

Nah. :(
