Lucas da Silva | Signed for PSG

3rd player like this that we're seriously linked with. Nasri, Hazzard and Lucas have similar qualities in that they can dribble and carry the ball into the box with pace.

They've all fulfilled a vital purpose in keeping us talking about 'exciting transfers' during the Summer - make us feel that we're still in the game for the top players. God forbid we actually really spend some serious money.

Luckily the new season is approaching and we'll all turn our attention to the football pitch, forgetting the inevitable annual roller-coaster ride to muppet-pain....ie

There's always the next transfer window.

Jews and Christmas again I guess

Moaning when it looks like we will get him (is he good enough? Looks raw? looks like my concerns were justified, etc), moaning when we don't.

At least I'm consistent.

Yes but PSG were a different club then, I agree Ancelotti is a great boss, but they are now a rich man's play thing. Have they time to wait for Lucas to become the finished article?

Where have I mentioned Lucas in that post? I have concerns about the kid however since Saf wants him....That had been my arugement all along

After reporting on its Sunday edition that Lucas had signed with Manchester United for 30 million pounds [$ 95 million], the British newspaper "Daily Mail" has admitted on Monday that the Paris Saint-Germain can go through the business and hire-are Pauline.

Based on information from the Brazilian media, the publication says the player who is with the Brazilian team in England playing in the Olympics, I would have hit a five-year contract with French club.

The information in the interest of PSG appeared on Sunday, after the entrepreneur Luke, Wagner Ribeiro, met with the sporting director of the association, the Brazilian Leonardo. Both spoke during the friendly match between France and Barcelona on Saturday.

No one from Sao Paulo or PSG official spoke on the subject so far. The Brazilian club have already admitted that he received a concrete proposal from Manchester United for 33 million euros (81.3 million RS) - some say that the value reached 38 million euros - and denied.

Manchester United are set to win the race for £30m Brazilian winger Lucas Moura, who should feature in tomorrow's Olympic semi-final against South Korea at Old Trafford.

United have been chasing the Sao Paulo 19-year-old for most of the summer and have already had one bid rejected.

The likes of Internazionale, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been reported to be interested in Lucas, but it appears United have prevailed.

It is believed a fee has been agreed and United given the green light to hold talks with the teenager.

Finalising the deal was probably the reason Sir Alex Ferguson missed United's pre-season trip to Norway for yesterday’s 0-0 draw in a friendly with Valerenga.

Lucas is regarded as one of the brightest young talents to emerge from Brazil in recent years.

The manager will also be on hand to press ahead with Robin van Persie's proposed £20m move to Old Trafford.

Ferguson is optimistic that any further hitches will be overcome for the Netherlands striker to become a United player before the Premier League season starts.

The Arsenal forward has been courted by Manchester City and Inter, while his inclusion in the Gunners squad's pre-season preparation in Germany has increased speculation that he may even sign a new contract at the Emirates.

He has not concealed his desire to move to Old Trafford, however, though it would mean Ferguson compromising over Arsenal's initial £25m demand, with the final figure likely to be about £20m.

United's long-awaited transfer moves nail suggestions that Ferguson's budget had been restricted because of the club's massive debts incurred by the Glazer family's takeover.

Lucas, who will be 20-years-old this day next week, has scored nine times and created eight goals for Sao Paulo in the 2012 campaign.

Meanwhile, Ferguson has received an apology from one of the fiercest critics of the Glazers' bid to pay down some of their £420m debt by selling off 10.2 per cent of the club on the New York stock exchange.

Andy Green, a financial analyst and a leading anti-Glazer campaigners, said: “As one of the people suggesting he was likely to participate in the $288m ‘2012 Equity Incentive Reward Plan' ... I'd like to apologise to Sir Alex for suggesting that personal gain was a motivation in his support for the owners.”

Its happening, he clearly likes gingham.

These all seem rehashed news of Bob Cass' piece of rubbish. He put it with such conviction (exact date of medical), that every other news outlet wanted a piece of that and wrote it as if their sources (see skysports for example) have unearthed this piece of gutter.

All fooled by that Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

That article is wanktastic. Right down to Andy Green being forced to apologise.

Word for word in the two articles. Lazy feckers/

This thread has seen more ups and downs than our village bike. I bet the next report coming out will be that he is undergoing a medical at citeh, followed by face-to-face meetings with SAF himself.

Going through Bob Cass' Twitter timeline, the guy doesn't hold back! I'd love to see his reaction to the stuff he got terribly wrong.

This..

So now it's happening again no?
Yesterday we already signed him and were getting Persie, today PSG got him and now we are favourites again.
I can't take that.

I'm past caring now.

If we get him, great news because he is a fantastic young player with an incredible future ahead of him. Potentially the next Ronaldo.

If we don't get him, so be it, he's clearly over rated anyway and has been completely overshadowed by Neymar and Oscar at the Olympics and £30m is way too much for someone who has never played in Europe.

Some reports suggest that PSG's offer is 45 million euros which was accepted by Sao Paulo but his agent is still claiming that it's just another lie, like the MU story.

The smart money would be that he will definitely sign for PSG. If the Brazilian sources are saying thats where he will go then you can be sure that that is much better info than anything coming from that rent boy Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime Bob Cass. I'd say Moutinho seems far more likely.

Hopefully this has all been a cunning plan from Fergie. Distract everyone with Lucas Moura while negotiating with someone else.

Apparently the agent denying the PSG link now too? Up and down, up and down.

Miguel Delaney(journalist) says that he hasn't heard anything new since Saturday night but has been told it's as good as done. :nervous:

I agree that it's one of the most boring transfer sagas ever. I haven't even got my cock out once.

A brazilian twatter suggested that Sao Paulo have accepted both offers and now the player must choose between us and PSG while another twatter is claiming it was Robinho who told Lucas to avoid Manchester because it's boring.

He thinks Manchester is boring ( apparently )...preferring Paris, the lad obviously has serious mental problems.

Sounds like Sao Paolo want PSG's briefcase full of crisp notes, rather than our old bin-bag full of coppers

if he chose paris instead of manchester due to the weather factor, and not fooball, i think i dont want him with us.

Well, Paris is 10 times the city Manchester is - that is if you are a tourist. If you are a pro football player, that should be only the 2nd priority
