Louis van Gaal's tactics

I honestly think I'd rather have Pardew or Monk manage us than this guy. At least they don't have these batshit crazy decisions that don't make sense.

It's really simple!

ANY sort of rigid formation can be either predicted or adjusted to be dealt with by the opposition. It's only "flair" or "unpredictable" players that can never be taken into account … and we have none or they are being shackled currently.

I think if this sort of football continues he is going to lose the fans before the end of the season.

Its just terrible stuff and for some reason we still don't look right in attack.

Ha. You're the sort who would have been delighted if Fergie had been sacked in 2006.

We'll get there in the end.

No, I was willing for Moyes to have more time. I never wanted Fergie sacked. But this shit is beyond comprehension. We make the same mistakes every fecking game. Van Gaal is mental.

1. Preaches cerebral coaching and the thinking footballer.

2. Complain about lack of balance.

3. Goes behind.

4. Takes off all the intelligent players capable of picking passes.

5. Throws on target man.

6. Proceed to mindlessly bomb penalty area.

Get him the feck out.

Let me just say it. I think he is a shite manager who gets away with murder because he spouts a lot of "philosophy". If we extend his contract we will be the biggest fkrs around. His football is as fkng boring as Moyes but because he has a decent record as manager, we will stick with him.

While you seem to be the one who would have kept playing with Taibi thinking "he will make it in the end".

Gary Monk outwitting Van Gaal 3 times in a row. Laughable. No disrespect to Monk, he's done brilliantly, but Van Gaal has to do better.

Louis Van Gaal's Tactics:

Spend a shit load.
Create nothing.
Slow rigid boring football.
If the above two fail, hoof it to Fellaini.

In a nutshell: The philosophy doesn't exist.

End/

I want him out. The only problem is I don't see a manager that can come in and fit straight in seamlessly at the moment other than Klopp but he's taking a sabbatical. That is literally the only thing that makes me reluctant to call for his sacking, not that my opinion matters much. Not a good sign.

This game aside. LVG has put us into a horrible position for the rest of the season. We have no goalkeeper, a CM playing CB and one horribly out of form striker as our only option. It's hard to feel much optimism.

I dont care what the net spent is.. we have brought in players worth a lot of money..

Lets see..
We dont have a decent keeper (De Gea is gone)
We are playing Blind at CB
We have our #10 who is pretty slow on the right wing
We dont have striking options.. our only striker (if we let Hernandez go) is awful.

The best part about the team are the fullbacks and the central midfield 2... that the central midfield 2 are not great.. just good enough.

That is hardly being in good shape.

furious at that sh!t.

the whole "Philosophy" BS seems to be to take zero risks, just hold the ball aimlessly, and bore your way to wins with rigid percentage football.

Way too many problems in the team

the keeper, Blind cannot stay at centre back for too much longer, over reliance on a young winger new to the league, Mata out of position, not having a clue who should play off Rooney, obviously Rooney himself.

And then you end a game basically just getting the ball to Young to find Fellaini with long punts.

speechless

I'm struggling to understand what he is trying to do. Our attacking play is predictable and toothless and we pass the ball way too slowly.

We were well in control of that in the second half. Swansea were barely having a kick. Rooney then fails to make a 5 yard pass with our full backs miles up the pitch and it all falls apart. The second one was the goalkeeper, but that is LVG's fault as he's fallen out with the 2 at the club who are better than him.

Simply put, opposition managers know how to play against us, they even no our plan B

What was the point of the Carrick sub?

Herrera drops back. Fellaini in 10. Fellaini as a target man striker is not going to work when he's got no one close in support. At least in 10 he can drop in space and do what he does best. That was 100% percentage football.

This !

LvG's tactic is to hold onto the ball as much as possible regardless of where we have it, which is usually in our own half. Try and nick a goal, and then revert to defending or hoofing it long when Fellaini is playing. No better than Trapattoni.

Can't disagree with that. Our only flair player is Memphis and he's going to need a season or so until we see the best of him.

I just don't get it. We have so much attacking talent and yet we constantly play boring, tumescent football. He's on borrowed time I think. If Klopp announces he's willing to come back next year I don't see him staying.

We just lack cutting edge, which is incredible when we have the players we have on disposal. Rooney was awful and he did have chances - but on the other aspects of the game, we just loitered around with possession and was getting close to their final third....and then just became clueless.

I don't get it.

We have wingers that only ever want to cut inside, a striker who always wants to drop deep and too few midfielders that want to run forward.

Considering that it's pretty hard to have a consistent goal threat (which we obviously don't).

How many of you lot would cut your losses with Van Gaal at the end of the season if this continues? I know I would. Guardiola ain't gonna be available forever.
