Louis Van Gaal - First press conference 17/07/14 14:45 BST

Understand they don't want to rock the boat for his first press conference but what a boring set of questions from the journos. Making him repeat the same old shit, would've liked to have heard some stuff on specific players as well.

He seems far happier in this interview with MUTV.

You can really understand how much of a blow it is to LVG that Carrick is injured. This is the time when he wants to assess players and figure out whether or not he needs new ones. If someone key to midfield is injured, it obstructs his ability to really know if Carrick can be the player he wants in midfield, or if he needs to get someone else in.

Speaking on the importance of Giggs in teaching him the culture and feels he can become a great manager.

He's repeating the same stuff again. That he needs to see training sessions and sign after 1 month.

Why are they scum? Because they're journalists?

You realise today wasn't a 'Van Gaal says hi to Rossi' event, don't you?

Hate it when people rag on the press as if they'd know feck all without them.

Awwww...Have an issue? Grab a tissue!

"Van Gaal says hi to Rossi event"....The hell does that even mean?

And for the record, I've worked in journalism for 2 years for free before, I've a qualification in journalism and I'm about to start another internship in journalism next week, so I'm well positioned to say what I think :) Your opinion is duly noted and perhaps I came on too strong :)

the contrast to my excitement after this press conference and Moyes' press conference is sort of mindblowing given he didn't even really say anything of note in it.

He's repeating the same stuff again. That he needs to see training sessions and sign after 1 month.

Makes total sense, Giggs will have given him the lowdown on the shite in the squad and I'm sure the targets are lined up, but he want's to see for himself. Also good he's got some of the youngsters training with the first team too.

Seems like he really wants to wait and assess his squad another month before deciding whether to buy or not. Interesting but understandable.
