Television Lost: The Final Season

I just skim-watched through some random Season 5 episodes

Chang: Your friend Faraday said you were from the future, I need to know if that's true...
Hurley: Dude that's ridiculous.
Chang: What year were you born?
Hurley: 19.....31?
Chang: You're 46?
Hurley: ....yeah.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War.
Hurley: ....theres no such thing.
Chang: Who's the President Of The United States?
Hurley: Ok dude we're from the future

Can't believe it's over on sunday, what time will it be on Uk time, may stay up. With this, flashforward and damages all finishing I'm going to have to find some new shows to watch.

You got a link to where it will be streaming from Mockney? Want to pass it on to a mate. Also what's the quality like?

For some odd reason they were showing the wrong channel on Channel surfing...some bollocks with Chris O Donnell...that scared the crap out of me...It's back on Lost now thankfully!

I was thinking of writing a very stern letter to.....someone

Ads already, this is why I usually download things.

You ever used veetle mockney? I'm watching it in full screen on my 26in tv and it's as good as real tv

Never...but I clicked that link and downloaded it and it's flipping brilliant. I'm on it now. Clear as day. Channel surfing had a veetle link, but when I clicked on it it said you need to download it, and I generally don't download stuff I don't need to. But I gotta say, I wish I'd done it ages ago now. This is crystal

That said, it's now "gone offline for 2 minutes"...Here's the channel surfing HQ veetle one. Still up if yours is down too

Yeah it is great for football too.

Makes you think that with quality like that tv companies will have to get on board sooner than later.

I've had this conversation lots of times...It's amazing that TV companies have held on to programmes this long...the internet has a far wider viewership...It wont be long before the first big proper Lost like programme debuts on the internet. Advertisers will still get adverts, and pops up, interactive toolbars and the works to boot... Plus a massively expanded audience. It won't be long. When computers become like TVs in size and quality (and most are HD anyway, and things like PS3s are a step that way for those inclined) it'll be a given.

Good ep. But after last week I just can't shake the feeling that they're brilliant at building up mystery and suspense, and woeful at paying off on it.

Still, I thought a lot of the acting was great in this ep, and, well, it was interesting. Here we go. This is it now...everything that happens from here on it is end game stuff.

Lets hope it's good.

What was whole the point of Widmore being in the village? I'm glad they're dead though, the woman was annoying and I can't stand the guy who plays Widmore's acting.

Well...

1) How dare you slander the good name and reputation of Jim Robinson!

and..

2) For conceited reasons to get as many of the old/important cast members on the island as possible in the last season to show they had a least some small overriding purpose to it all to begin with...when really they probably didn't. And presumably to close him and Ben's story arch...sort of

As for the woman...she was there for absolutely no reason what so ever.

Yeah definitely, I can even watch live tv on my phone now, it's only a matter of time. Be interesting to see how they go about it though, with possible subscription fees, local adverts etc.

Good episode

I assume ben isn't really on Locke's side and is now trying to manipulate his manipulator.

Although I liked the way they killed Widmore his overall arc came to nothing but bringing des back to the island which, although great as we all love des, seems a little bit of a damp squib.

Guess some people may be a little disappointed by Jacob's reasoning for bringing them to the island but sometimes the most obvious reason is the best one and it being because they had crap lives makes the most sense.

Terry O'Quinn is fantastic, hope he gets some awards for this season.

Gotta love Des' taste in clothes, can't wait to see kate in that dress....

Strangely, I'm starting to find the flash-sideways a lot more intriguing than the on-island stuff. It was the exact opposite at the start of the season.

I agree with that...I've been feeling that way since the Daddy Jack ep.

Also..possible misgiving.

If that's the end of Richard...it's possibly the worst death on the show, ever. I really hope it's not. That would be quite insulting

I agree...the Arzt death was actually pretty funny, Ilana's I didn't really care about....but if Richard is really dead, then it was lame death for a rather pivotal character

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I could see it coming a mile away, I just hoped I was wrong. To tell you the truth, I was pissed for the entire rest of the episode, found it hard to enjoy any of it. All of that, and Richard, the near mythical being from earlier, dies like that? :nono:

As for the episode itself...

In a way, it was good. In the standard Lost-way, it was good. I enjoyed it. But in another way, it's becoming more and more apparent that they haven't got a clue what they're doing with all the mystery and suspense they've built up.

It just seems like nothing that has happened in the 6 seasons has mattered. This could just as well have been the finale for the second season. And in that way, I didn't like the episode. It suggests a BSG-type finale, a veritable deus ex machina fest, it is what it is, and just accept it on faith.

And I'm not sure I could take that.

Edit:
Okay, I'm still pissed off about Richard. Really. Which makes me pissed off about the episode. I think I have to watch the entire episode again, and just skip that part, maybe that will be better.

I'm not really feeling it, if I'm honest.
It doesn't feel like the next episode is the end of the show - this final season has been a bit too bland for my liking and I'm not really taken in by the so-called suspense.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to now is the final 5 minutes, as it's always interesting to see how exactly a big show goes out.

Good episode

I highly doubt Richard is dead. Some of you have just accepted that like it's fact. Him and Miles are now conveniently on their own to set the stage for their reappearance in the finale, and maybe Frank's.

I loved the sit down with Jacob, the explanation of why he brought them there is good. It's what we thought/noticed from the start and there was no need for it to be any different. I too hope Ben is pretending to be on MIB's side as it would be very out of character for him to just turn like that. I get the killing of Widmore, but for him to try and kill the survivors would be poo, so I'm going for the 'I'm pretending I'm on your side so you don't kill me' option.

Flash-sideways stuff was quality.

I don't get the hate for Tina Fey MILF-woman. She's got nice baps and it's a shame they won't be around anymore.

Also nice to see Alex re-appear but the hair really wasn't working for me.

I'm quite gutted that it's Jack. I was thinking Sawyer might step in and be the reluctant hero.

Was that the real Ana-Lucia? I thought she had pissed them off so much that they killed her off.

I just realized Sawyer is the only person left on the island (apart from MIB) who hasn't left the island since 815 crashed. He's been there the whole time, poor bastard. I kinda half expected him to

Spoiler from latest ep

Suddenly take the drink from Jack and become the new Jacob, he has less to go back to then Jack does
