How are people supposed to know that wasn't a spoiler? The only way we could have known it wasn't was to actually click on the spoiler which defeats the whole point of not having it spoilt!

Vida, IF you say one more thing that gives away plot in the remaining episodes i'll remove your posting rights so that you can only read

EDIT: actually screw that, you've been asked too many times already and it doesn't sink in. You now can no longer post in the entertainment forum. Actually im not sure if you can even read this post

SPOILER BELOW

Please say that Desmond isn't dead

Should I get my hair cut like Desmonds?

Fair enough really, its the last few episodes of a series we've all been watching for the last six years. It would be really bad if some guy of an internet forum spoiled it for us

Thanks geebs.

Not really a spoiler, but just in case:

How come Widmore sent Keamy to the island to kill everyone a couple of season back, but now he's not killing everyone? What has been his logic thus far?

I guess with all the candidates dead Smokey couldn't go forward with his plan, he needs them alive for now. Seeing as that didn't work he seems to be adopting a more tactful approach now.

I don't know why I was spoilering, it's Saturday anyway.

Forgetting the Widmore stuff for now, if smokey needs all the candidates to get off the island, why doesn't it matter about all the other numbers (candidates?) that have died? Surely if all the candidates were dead, smokey would be able to leave freely now that Jacob's gone. Is smokey unable to kill candidates in the same way he couldn't kill Jacob, so he's decided that leaving with them is easier?

That doesn't make much sense. Why did he stop Claire from trying to kill Kate, then?

So now that Desmond seems to be taking Jacob's place, who will take the MIB's place?

Well done on getting rid of Vidared. He was given far too many warnings.

Is Desmond dead!?

I don't think so. Why bother getting him back and giving him so much importance just to kill him off. He seems to be key to whatever Widmore is doing. In the unlikely event that he did die on the island I'm sure we'll still be seeing alot of him in sideways world anyway.

It's Saturday lads, you can freely talk about the episodes as it's been aired in the UK. Desmond had to make a 'sacrifice,' I wonder whether it is his life that he has to. Isn't the well he got thrown down the same one that Locke and Ben went to turn the wheel?

Another great episode

I don't think both realities are happening at exactly the same time are they? I thought Desmond ran down Locke to give him a near death experience so he could remember the island,

That would be a bit risky, surely!

Kate's not a candidate and smokey believed he needed her to gather/keep the candidates together (her relationship with jack etc). But she does have a number I think. It's confusing.

Coolest character in the history of LOST?

Locke is dead on the island, so there would be no point in him remembering it surely?

I think Dessie did it purely for fun....maybe it was his birthday or something

When did Jacob visit Locke? Was it after he fell from the window? Or did we just assume that? Could it have been after being hit by Desmond?

My memory is a tad sketchy.

But even so, maybe Jacob told Desmond to do it, assuring him that Locke wouldn't die.

People are assuming that he did it for Locke to remember the alternate reality, but when Locke goes to hospital, it's not a stretch to predict that Jack will be one of the surgeons attending to him.

Also, I don't think the Losties need a near-death experience to recall the events of the original timeline. It can be any experience that parallels what happened or could've happened in that timeline
- Charlie had a near-death experience on the Island, and was resuscitated by Jack. Likewise, he had to be resuscitated by Jack on the airplaine
- Desmond's trigger initially was seeing Charlie drown at the Looking Glass, and the almost drown in the alternate timeline
- My guess is that Jack will have a flashback while operating on Locke, because it will in some ways parallel the operation he did on Ben on the island.

Also, who is Jack's ex-wife in this alternate timeline? Juliette?

I think so. His actions in the sideways timeline are mirroring how Jacob interacted with some of the Losties before they came to the island.

That's actually quite interesting but I thought when there was a Jacob on the island MIB can't leave in which case Flocke would be back at square one. I'm so lost myself at the moment I can't get my head around any of it.l

Yeah it was when he dropped from the window, Jacob was reading a newspaper on a bench right by where Locke landed

Which is what I said before. It just has to be an image or an action strong enough for them to remember e.g. Hurley

Desmond is basically going around making sure people remember the island. Not sure what that's going to do in the long run, maybe they all remember the island meet up and some crazy shit happens and that world disappears.

It surely needs to be established that Desmond would know he wasn't going to actually kill Locke?

Me and my mate watched that bit frame by frame earlier, you can tell it's a bloke with a quiff driving the car as Locke goes over it too
