Television Lost: The Final Season

Another great episode.

It's funny, I was actually hoping that the boring latina bird would blow herself into pieces moments before she did.

So the whispers are the people who have died whilst being on the island?

Desmond better be ok.

Not just people who have died on the island, but people who have done bad things whose souls can't leave the island, one would assume. I assume that's why Libby doesn't appear to Hurley whereas Michael, Christian and Jacob do?

Oh, and Libby's boobs in the beach scene

Very poor and a cop out explanation for the whispers

Lot of their transcripts of whispers from previous seasons, do not hold much water with this reveal.

Regardless, the worst part is that they were answered when they were not even relevant to the ongoing arc. Should have answered them back in season 3.

Still the episode in general was good.

Are we supposed to have seen the doctor in the mental hospital before?

Does Christian appear? Wasn't that only earlier? As in, it was almost certainly Smokey doing his thing?

Regarding the whispers, I'm not sure they had that answer ready from season one. The writers have always given us the impression in the past that it was to do with the others. Even Ben told Rouseau something like "when you hear whispers run the other way".

Great episode, I love Hugo.

Evil Locke looked pretty darn evil in that last scene on the island.

I thought it was a great ep, but agree that it was a cop out Whistpers answer.

Then again, that was always one of the things I never thought they'd answer so, meh in the end, at least they sort of did. Didn't like the sort of "souls" overtones and it felt rushed, but it was an answer I never thought we'd get none the less.

Since Des was flashing back and forth in the previous ep...can we assume the running over Locke was done whilst he was in the well?

which is a bit harsh considering that was real Locke run over who didn't deserve it or was it......nah everything we've seen of locke in the flashways seem to be original Locke surely.

Really good episode, good seeing Libby back although there wasn't much they could do with her on island character I always kind of liked her.

Interesting that the first person Locke talked to was Jack, didn't seem bothered to see Sun so does that mean Jin is the candidate and not her or was it just because Jack arriving of free will was the most shocking to Flocke.

Was he flashing back and fourth in the last episode? Was it not just a normal alternate storyline - where he only became aware of the real storyline after Charlie drove into the water?

I think Desmond ran Locke over to show him the the real storyline - as they have to come close to death to see it.

Well I'm not sure that was real Locke. Remember the whole "don't tell me what I can't do" scenes? I'm not sure whether that's supposed to be Locke or Flocke but I think they're both the same.

Definitely think Desmond is jumping between both universes.

Another great episode

I don't think both realities are happening at exactly the same time are they? I thought Desmond ran down Locke to give him a near death experience so he could remember the island, and from his expression it looked like he did. Did anyone else think his facial expression was very similar to when he looked into Smokeys eyes in Season 1? Also did anyone feel incredibly sorry for alt Locke being run down? Despite it being kind of necessary.

Whispers explanation was a bit random but good to get one nonetheless.

The Illana thing I did not see coming  It was the same kind of shock as the Artz explosion, so early in the ep too.

Also, the boy Smokey saw in this ep was different to the one he saw with Sawyer isn't he. Wonder where it's going with that. Easiest explanation at the mo is young Jacob and young Smokey

I thought the same actually but reading other forums I get the impression maybe he's supposed to be the same boy. Its the same actor as well.

Oh ok then, btw we are supposed to know the doctor in the mental hosp. That's Dr. Brooks, he was the doc there when Hurley was in Santa Rosa in the original timeline. He took the photo of Hurley and Dave and showed it to him to prove Dave didn't exist.

Fuh-King EPIC! One thing people are forgetting is that you DON'T need a near-death experience e.g. Hugo and Libby. It has to be something strong enough to remind of what happened... like an image.

It's a bit sad that they killed Ilana off like that but they can't cheaply kill off any more characters with dynamite because there isn't any left.

I still have a sneaky suspicion of Ben. I just think he's going to get up to something wiley.

Agreed. The shot of Locke was similar of the shot we of him after the plane crash way back. I wouldn't mind betting that he will walk again after this accident, and that's what will bring him images of the original timeline.

I also wonder how they are gonna tie in the rest of the characters becoming aware of the original timeline in such a short space of time. I imagine they will tie in Jack, Kate and Sawyer all at the same time somehow.

I'm worried that there's so little time left, and we're still quite far from having a clue what is going to happen. I kinda love that fact at the same time though. I'm sure the finale will be epic.

If he is dead, I swear I'm going to stop watching Lost. Even if I miss the finale after following the show avidly for years. Probably. Perhaps....

Anyways - brilliant episode. It just keeps getting more and more exciting now

There is no way Desmond is dead... That's a given.

It's coming along quite nicely now though.. MiB has a big following now, I'm very interested in what that kid represents, whatever it is it seems to frighten/bother MiB.

The explanation for the whispers was a bit 'meh'. Michaels 'We are the ones who can't move on' felt like really lame writing to... I mean it's a bit of a cliche isn't it.

Not a chance Desmond is dead, no way if he was going to die it would be from falling down a well

Hang on. Randon thought. How the feck was Richard's bird on the island then? I'm a bit confused, as she had feck all to do with island technically. (I may have forgotten something, correct me if so, there's a lot shit to remember)

Okay, it might just be down to the fact that Hugo can see dead people in general (Charlie while off the island) but it's all a bit confusiong really.

This

Yeah, I think it's probably as simple as that.

By the way, what's the point of this spoiler thing we've got going? Obviously every single post in this thread after the episode has aired in the US is going to be about that episode, one way or another. So we get silly situations like this, where there's a dozen posts in a row, all just saying "Spoiler". Why don't people who would rather wait until it's aired in Britain simply stay out of the thread until it's aired? It's not like they're going to get anything meaningful out of the thread in the hiatus anyway.

the whispers are from the dead people who died on the island whilst hurley can see dead people everywhere but when he's talks with dead people outside the island there are no whispers.

Why were they so obsessed with blowing up the plane? There are plenty of other ways to stop a plane from flying. Like smashing windows, cutting electrics, ruining the wheels etc.

Yeah, I think it's probably as simple as that.

although i agree with you.

It's more exciting having spoilers ;)

...and it looks better too !

That Asian bloke from the Dharma instructional videos, did anyone notice that he looked excactly the same as he did in 70's.

Yeah that was odd - would be a stupid mistake to make, so they must have something in store to explain it.

Well he saw Dave his 'imaginary' friend on the island too but that could have been Smokey or Hurley's madness I suppose.

Yeah, I think it's probably as simple as that.

Some people don't know when they air in america, it's safer this way and it really isn't that much trouble.

i clearly remember you posting a fecking paragraph explaining how mib was good while jacob was evil.
