Like GDH says it is open to interpretation. Dogen quite explicitly says "As soon as you see him plunge this into his chest. If you allow him to speak, it is already too late."
If the way to kill Flocke is to stab him before he speaks then I am not even sure what to label it since ridiculous does not even begin to cover it.

My theory is that smokey can only be killed by the person who's following him just like jacob was killed by his follower (ben).
That would certainly fit into my theory on the last page that Sayid's other dimension story implies he could still come good.
I hope so. It would be a nice overall character arc over the course of the show if that were to happen.

The 30 second clip of Ben as Dr. Linus explaining the island of Elba to the kids and how Napolean was trapped there and stripped of all his power. He also mentioned that he might as well be dead. Definite Smokie tie-in there. Looks like Smokie did something very bad a long time ago and has been imprisoned on the island since and Jacobs been his jailor in a way.
there is a theory going round that smokie is a genie. apparently stories talk of some genies once being men, who sinned and were then forced to be trapped forever in one place unless set free by their owner. so if jacob captured him, that might be why he needs jacobs candidates to help him to leave. genies also travel in pillars of dust/sand/smoke and originally come from deserts, which is where the islands exit is. sayid and dogen spoke of smokie granting him a wish.
No and i don't intend to see it. All i see is a promo that's shown on tv after the episode finishes.
Saw that the other week, its US residents only unfortunately.
When I first read Genie, I almost laughed. But got to admit that makes a lot of sense - the smoke, the desert, the wishes etc. But I guess all of this could easily tie into Egyptian mythology just as easily - and add the statues, the hieroglyphs etc and it all fits. Which ones though - popular theory is Seth/Osiris.

Fair enough. That was pretty great as well. Looks like its redemption time for Ben. Its interesting how his story arc has progressed. From master manipulator to a pawn in someone else's plan. And the death of so many people on his hand - The Dharma folk, The Others, Alex, Widmore's people off-island. Thats quite a nasty toll he's got there.
Hope to watch it on veetle today. Fingers crossed for a good feed.

Well its released on the net at 8:30am (my timezone) so i download it then and watch it. Last season when i was in uni i still watched it and always missed the first lecture.
