Television Lost: The Final Season

Ethan was taken off the island on the sub when Chang ordered it. In the original reality Ethan was eventually taken back to the island to be their doctor. However in the alternate reality the island sunk so there is no way he could have been recruited.

I did forget about the scene of the island underwater, nothing else has been explained about that though has it?

I think it was the piss poor cgi shark that made me blank it out. Why don't they spend a tad more money on the cgi scene's, i can't watch the freighter blowing up without laughing.

 Yeah that was great.

I remember seeing a scene they filmed before they added the cgi polar bear in the pilot. They threw a stuffed doll at the camera and it looked so bad it was unbelievable.

But that still doesn't explain how he's never been on the island ? The island was destroyed after dharma had there stint on the island! or maybe he was off the island doing some recruiting when the island sank and now he's stuck so he decided to work as a doctor.

It was never claimed he hadn't. He left the island as a child and either he was, as you said, off island when it sank or, more likely in my opinion, never went back.

Because of the budget...in S1 and 2 the cgi was great, especialy in S1 because they had a huge budget.

I had one the other day, Jack was shouting at me. He's actually quite intimidating.

I had one years ago which was basically the scene where Boone was covered in blood talking about falling up the stairs and i was in Locke's place. Quite freaky.

I still don't know why the last episode got panned. There's blatantly some important stuff being laid out in the plot. I think Ethan knew more about what's going on than he let on, for example...and Claire returning is also significant.

That was awesome.

Could the numbers next to the names have anything to do with Hugo's lottery numbers?

"Don't tell me what I can't do!". I guess there's still some Locke in him.

That kid, is it a young Jacob or someone else?

Good episode!

Was funny when fake locke threw that 'Good' stone into the water and when was asked by Sawyer what he was doing, he replied 'inside joke'.

Oh and that little kid was creepy

I wonder if it's any specific order, seeing as the remaining candidates have The Numbers, and Locke was 4, the first of them.

4 - Locke
8 - Hurley
15 - Sawyer
16 - Sayid
23 - Jack
42 - Kwon ("I don't know if it's Sun or if it's Jin". How about Ji Yeon?!)

Is it in some specific order, ie Locke as 4 being the first candidate? It would seem to suggest that the candidates aren't crossed out as they die, because Kate isn't crossed out.

--------------------------

Great episode, answered some questions. Jacob represents the white side of the game or whatever it is. It also looks like the island always has a guardian, and as long as he is alive (if it's Jin all the remaining candidates are male, any significance? Ji Yeon's a girl, right?) Smokey can't leave the island. Also, he can't leave the island himself, so he has to recruit someone to go along with him.

Kate wasn't even on there though was she? Either Jin or Sun are not candidates, so it's not surprising if Kate isn't either. The fact Locke got crossed out very much suggests they're crossed out as they die.

Also, the "inside joke" line was class!

Other stuff
- How did Locke end up in the wheelchair then? Helen mentioned Locke's dad as if he is still actively involved in his life, so you have to assume it wasn't his fault.
-And what is Smokey recruiting for??? Looks like he got Sawyer, and he tried to get Richard.
-What's with that kid? Suggests all the apparitions we've seen previously were not neccesarily Smokey??

Good episode overall. Story progression and plenty of character moments, was nice. Much better than last week for me.

We don't know. For all we know, Kate could have already been crossed out seeing as she was an unfit candidate for some other reason than being dead? We don't know if all the names that are already crossed out are of old candidates that are now dead (ie not any of the Losties) or if all the 815 survivors were candidates and then crossed out one by one.

I think we need clearer images of the crossed out names. Maybe he brings the candidates to the Island six at a time and always gives them one of the Numbers?

But yeah, now that you mention it it would make sense if Kate never was a candidate, hence never on the wall, and that they are crossed out as they die. I think that it'll turn out to be Ji Yeon who's the candidate that goes by the name of Kwon. Something that may kind of support that theory (if you try really hard) would be that he has the highest number, meaning he was added latest (upon Sun getting pregnant, that is) of all the candidates. Also, did you all notice that piano tone whenever Jacob touched a candidate? The sound wasn't there when he touched Jin and Sun simultaneously, which could mean that the candidate was created by the two of them through his touch, or something like that.

Quality ep.

Lots of stuff to chew on

4 - Locke
8 - Reyes
15 - Ford
16 - Jarrah
23 - Shephard
42 - Kwon

Interesting that theres no Austen. Perhaps if the Kwon is Jin then it's an all male thing.

- Little kid was strange, wonder what that was about. Young Jacob? Island spirit? Maybe he put the rules in place between Smokey and Jacob, a sort of peacemaker in the middle?

- "Inside joke"

- Real Locke buried :(

Also

These names were also spotted on the list thing

10 - Mattingley

20 - Roup

34 - C?

64 - Goldstein

70 - Faraday[1]

75 - Costa

90 - Troup

14X - Lewis[2]

115 - Bargas?

195 - Pace

222 - O'Toole

233 - Jones

291 - Domingo

313 - Littleton

317 - Cunningham

346 - Grant

Number Illegible - Reynolds

Number Illegible - Almeda?

Number Illegible - Goodspeed

Number Illegible - Sullivan

Number Illegible - Pickett

So we have Daniel Faraday, Claire or even Aaron Littleton, Charlie Pace, Charlotte Lewis, Horace Goodspeed & Danny Pickett that we know. Troup was the guy sucked into the turbine on day 1, Mattingley and Cunningham were the names of two of the men with Charles Widmore in the 50's when Locke killed one of them.

Lewis was Charlotte's surname too.

Also, don't think the numbers are in any age related order as Hurley is younger than the rest I think.

Very Good ep, Terry O'Quinn's bad guy acting is superb this season, and Josh Holloway has stepped up in the last season. Jack's gonna need to do a lot of shouting and crying to work his way back in the drama stakes

He has ben excellent, I don't even see him as Locke anymore, jsut a completely different character which is a testament to his acting ability.

Where are you getting to watch these episodes before the official screening time.

I want in!

Thanks, guys. :)

On the other hand, if I do that, then come Friday night I'll wish I hadn't.

I dont see it that way, afterall by downloading it in HD I get it better then if I didn't download it, then when it is on Sky it's a nice little re-cap :)

I hope they explain why likes of Ethan and Ben are alive off island in the sideways flash when they were on the island when the bomb went off. The island, which is supposedly underwater now due to the bomb

The cop out regarding smokey retaining Locke's appearance for now, was hilarious.

Good episodes though I am not sure how long I can keep watching with religious undertones becoming increasingly frequent.

Very nice episode.

You all talk about Kate being dead. When did that happen, I must have completely blanked that out with the overlapping time travelling.

Searching for the answer on Google was not a good idea, it's filled with spoilers.

Kate isn't dead, who said that on here? We are just wondering why Kates name wasn't on Jacobs wall, that's all. At this moment in time Kate is heading back to the temple after seeing Sawyer at the Barracks.

Maki when he said:

Indicating she's dead.

Could the blonde kid be Aaron? Wasn't he supposed to have big role in this series seeming as he was born on the island and stuff. I can't remember what happened to him, if he stayed in the real world or not.
