Television Lost: The Final Season

to be honest, I'll stick to end to see how they do it, but it would be a crappy end for me if thats how it plays out.....far too much deus ex machina supernatural cop outs

There is absolutely no need to introduce any new characters now at all. Hate the new Japanese guy in the temple. We are suddenly supposed to believe there is this very important "other" who was never shown or even mentioned in last 5 season, during which they actually showed all the others living together and even how they were in the past.

It is too late to introduce all this stuff now. At least we have been hearing about Jacob since beginning of S3. You already have enough players for the big finale- black smoke monster, Jacob, LOSTites, Ben, others, Wildmore, Richard. Any story or mystery can be told via these characters instead of wasting screen time on establishing new ones.

id like to see a smokey centric episode with flashbacks to see what he meant by "You have no idea what I've gone through to be here"

I think we kinda know what he has done. From the moment that plane crashed there he saw this group as his opportunity to twist them and get Jacob to die. Though the planning might of been for even longer so yeah would be interesting to see what exactly he has done.

My thoughts:

- Sayid. The main temple bloke said it was very bad for him to die. Part of me thinks that fakelock will assume his body in order to get inside the temple, but this doesn't make sense for two reasons: 1) Locke's body is still around so he might not take Sayid's actual body; 2) Why would Jacob risk telling Hurley to take Sayid there? etc. But I seriously doubt Sayid will be alive and well and things will carry on as normal.
That monster can only take the form of dead people and we have seen nothing to suggest he has to take the dead persons body to take it's shape. He has not taken Locke's body and is able to take his shape. I think basically he can take the memories and shape of all dead people, Sayid is not dead yet. Nor have we seen he can bring people back to life like Jacob can.

nicked this off from lost-forum.

Richard Alpert is, indeed, from the Black Rock.. (Explanation follows)

In 'Exodus, Part II' you see a series of shots from inside the Black Rock, one of them portraying a skeleton (former slave/prisoner) in shackles.. Or actually, a lot of skeletons in shackles..

In a later shot Jack is touching and looking at OPEN chains.. Not Broken, but opened, by somebody or something.. Even though the other chains are untouched with skeletons still occupying them..

Jacob brought the Black Rock to The Island, we saw and heard it in finale ep of season 5.

Richard is ageless, Jacob 'made' him this way.. Why, when and were is yet to be explained, but the producers have promised us 'extensive Richard Alpert backstory' in season 6. Looking forward to it :) Note that Richard knows somethign about Flocke/MiB/Smokey/Chuck Norris, this hints that he knows something about the battle going on.. But at the same time he is very upset to see Flocke/MiB/Smokey/Chuck Norris roaming free.. Why? What does he really know, or more important, what have Jacob told him? These are the REAL questions..

The tapestry clearly tells the tale of Egyptians living on The Island either under the protection of or recieving good favours from the Egyptian God Horus..

Smokey is depicted in hieroglyphs on the cerberus chamber-door facing Anubis, also recieving it's 'grace' or it's 'gift'..

Anubis is the God of Judgement and the God of the Dead, and the brother of Horus.. The Egyptians leaving The Island could mean they lost the favor of Horus, and suddenly found them self led by Anubis's servant Flocke/MiB/Smokey/Chuck Norris..? Can't find the connection between Horus and the Lost storyline though, so maybe i'm lost..

Sidenote: We all know the importance of names in the show (pointless to illustrate, as its everywhere, and if you missed it, you're just not worthy..) but no one has mentioned the fabled First Mate of the legendary original ghost ship, the Mary Celeste (Mary Celeste - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

His name was Albert Richardson.. Read up on Mary Celeste and do the math..

Summary: Richard WAS on the Black Rock and Jacob brought the Black Rock to The Island..

Bonus Info: The 'Home' Flocke/MiB/Smokey/Chuck Norris talks about, is beneath the Temple..

Jacob's nemesis - Lostpedia - The Lost Encyclopedia
The writers on Lost have been quite clever in how things link back to things we see even early on so a very good spot there. Jacob obviously saw something in him because as far as we know even some of the so called leaders of the others don't meet Jacob whereas Richard knows his exact location. Though from what we can see Jacob does seem to come to the Temple often so it does make you think how Ben doesn't seem to know him. Has he not met Ben in particular or maybe just those two guys at the Temple meet Jacob often and they are in more senior positions like Richard? Also when they learn that Jacob has died they seem to know the drill pretty well and John Lennon knows now that Jacob is dead it leaves them open to the fake Locke so needs to keep him out of the Temple, I'm assuming the Temple might hold the key for getting him back home like he wants but can't get there while Jacob is around. So maybe the lot in the Temple are a different faction the others who lived in Dhamaville? Hopefully they will shed further light on that.

Jacob has been around for like forever and quite possibly made Richard like that as he knew when his time would be up that Richard has a role to play. He had bought the likes of Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sawyer, Hurley etc to the Island I believe to stop the fake Locke after he died so I think he had a good idea of when his time was up. You can tell that fake Locke was a bit shocked when he told them they are coming so while he has planned to kill Jacob for who knows how long Jacob seems to have been preparing for that moment for even longer.

Locke visited him when he left the island but didn't ask him to come back because he thought he'd been through enough. I think his story is done, but we still may find out why he was so special.

They'll most likely try and explain it through Michael...they have to address it somehow, they would've know he would grow when they started surely?

Makes you think - why don't they start trapping the smoke monster slowly into one corner of the island...using the ash...

like that game where you had to cover a certain percentage of the space without getting hit by the dots.

So all those episodes revolving around Walt's kidnap and rescue were a huge waste of time? Na I'm fairly certain they'll explain it.

When did I suggest anything like that? There are some things that they wont be able to answer in the show but will answer it when questioned at events such as Comic-Con

I'm sure Richard or Ben or someone will say why Walt is special at some point this season. In fact I'm sure I read that it was a definite question to be answered.

Are we to assume that all the redshirts are dead now btw? I kinda miss them despite them not doing much.

out of all the main characters sawyer is the only one who hasn't encountered the smoke monster or its other manifestations.

I find stuff like that weird. Like also have you noticed Sawyer and Desmond basically never spoke to each other, I think maybe once when Hurley tricked Sawyer into being nice and he went boar hunting with him. Also the episode 'The Variable' when Daniel is in the Dharma house telling them his plan (kind of), that is the only time Hurley and Daniel see each other in the entire series.

If everything has a reason then there is a reason all of this:

Which you said was coincidental

I have forgot and this is bugging me...

The flight that the Oceanic 6 got on, back to the island, along with Ben and Lockes dead body...after that crashed, how did Jack/Kate/Hurley end back up in the past but Ben and other people ended up in the present?

There was a flash which took Jack, Kate and Hurley off the plane and back to 1977. Why it didn't take Sun and Locke we still don't know.

Sun is still a mystery. But I assume it didn't take Locke because he was dead?

How the hell did she live after the bomb went off?
Why are there 2 Locke's?
Who are the ones with Locke's body.
Iam sure that Desmond was not on the original flight ,was he not down the hatch ?

She didnt.
One is Essau/MIB/Flocke/Jacobs enemy/Smokey.
People who are on Jacobs side.
Its an alternate reality.

If time changed, he wouldn't have ended up on the island...but it's a million to one chance he'd have got on the same plane, so something else must be at work

During the alternate timeline, its strange how every character only relates to those with whom they have had contact with/relationships with on the island.

i.e. Kate and the blonde woman in the taxi. Kate and Saywer, Jack and Locke...etc etc...

Des is the constant. I had a feeling he knew what was going on.
