Liverpool : General discussion

Not winning against Norwich and Carlisle now at home, deary me. They are absolutely shambolic. Feel bad for Rodgers, i believe in him. Give him time, please.

Firmino limped off with backpains - and Lovren carried off with oxygenmask....

Still not blaming our squad. This is purely a managerial issue.

FACKING GET IN. HAVE THAT, CARLISLE CVNTS. Where's ya chants now, eh? eh?

I'm smiling like Rodgers here.

I wonder if it's profitable for the Liverpool board to consistently make Europa and develop young players before selling them on if they become top four material. They just need to restrict Rodgers' transfer spending, Suarez went for loads, Sterling went for loads and I can see Coutinho going for a good amount too if he helps them secure Europa this season. The board are surely looking at profits over trophies, it's going to be too costly and difficult to break into the top four, the sensible decision would be to keep Rodgers.

Their last 6 games

Liverpool 0-3 West Ham
Man United 3-1 Liverpool
Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool

And the last one by just their whiskers.
How on earth is Rodgers still around?

Remember when the Liverpool fans on here were predicting Rodgers would lead them to glory for years?

Actually quite surprised we're 3rd after our awful end to last season.

I remember when a lot of the United fans on here were predicting that too, calling him one of the best young managers in Europe. The Moyes era was a tough year

15 points from the last 45 in the PL.

Chelsea (and us, too, almost - we're probably ahead on GD) leapfrogged by Leicester. Woah.
Arsenal have a tough game coming up against fast, direct opposition with burned out first team players.

Despite how poor they've been I am surprised they struggled against Carlisle. I agree with most on the Ancelotti rumour too. I don't think he'd go there, but I also don't think he is the right manager for them.

Carlisle performance isn't really that important, main thing is to get through. They would be better off pulling a big team out of the draw as they're better as underdogs. I think they'll keep they're powder dry on Rodgers until the summer but can't see him being given funds in January unless they are genuinely competing for Top 4 which looks increasingly unlikely. They'll go for a continental manager, possibly Lucien Favre, who is used to the Director of Football approach. Rodgers is fecking useless, he took over a Swansea team that Martinez and Sousa had playing good football, every year he's been a manager since he started the job at Swansea his teams seasonal possession has dropped. That's alarming for a man who pontificates about "death by football" and the importance of having the ball to create opportunities.

I really hope they don't get Klopp. You can already see them making their Kloppite flags.

I saw the headline 'Liverpool hopeful on Lovren injury' on the BBC website and couldn't help but wonder for a moment if they were hopeful that he would be out for a long, long time...

Firmino limped off with backpains - and Lovren carried off with oxygenmask....

That is actually positive news for them. Hard to imagine worse defender playing for a top side. But then you have to think of Skrtel...

I'm all for the "they're better off without him" jokes and stuff, but no player, any player, getting carried off with an oxygen mask is ever a good thing.

I didn't mean the injury itself. Edited the bold part to only Lovren so it's not misunderstood.

Haven't scored more than 1 in a game since QPR last season.
York City last weekend, while down to 10 men, scored 2 against Carlisle, who have the worst defensive record in League Two.
Scored 1 against Bordeaux, who just conceded 6 against Nice.

How much longer can Rodgers last?

Shouldn't survive much longer, but he seems to keep escaping the sack so I won't get my hopes up.
