Having looked many places but I assume that the media are having a go at them for devaluing the competition for playing a weakened side?

9 Games in 30 days. Everton, Napoli, Manchester United, Arsenal, City amongst those. Totally understandable why we rested some players. Our squad members just didnt turn up.

Brighton's a must win match. City play 3 more matches than us this month. Might be a factor in the long run.

Think we might need to sign at least one player this window.

 Can a loss be a win?

Is that guy serious with the last tweet?

Chelsea-Arsenal-United-Arsenal-Arsenal-Wigan-Chelsea-Man City-Chelsea-Chelsea-Portsmouth. That should be the last ten winners. If you go back two more years you would get to the last time they won it.

If Lovren is injured who'll they play on weekend? Shame Lovren is injured if I might add.

Two games against Burton and a home game against Burnley reserves. All I can say is City's whole squad will be match fit going into the final part of the season.

Then all the more reason our smaller squad should be too. Right?

And thats fair enough. They have a better squad than us..We must nurse the same 11-14 players to be in with a small chance of competing with them.

The thread title jinx working perfectly for Caf.

A sense of Deja Vu. This January is turning out the same as last January. 2 games 2 losses so far. :nervous:

I am afraid, by March End, this has a top 4 fighting season written all over it. Especially if Klopp stays so stubborn and doesn't get a proper leftback and a CB. Ki Jana-Hoever can't be the answer for Premier or Champions league.

Proper losers mentality to want to go out of a competition.

They entered 4 at the start of the season, they should be aiming to win them all.

When you saw the team selection it was inevitable Wolves would win. I struggle to understand why they need to rest basically their starting 11 for a game against Brighton.

If that had been us under Ferguson after losing to City, we’d of had a strong side out and made a statement.

Loser mentality from Klopp.

Can only imagine you meant RB.

No left back. Have you seen Moreno. If Robertson is injured, the team is done for. Right-back is needed too, but the more pressing need is left-back. Milner is too slow to cover in full-back.

I'm not sure I follow you. It's the same problem if TAA is injured, no?

Great result for Liverpool tbf.

I remember Martin O'Neil describing Leicester City getting knocked out of the FA Cup in 2015-2016

"Put it this way, I think they'll be disappointed... for about 5 minutes."

The way they sound remind me a lot of arsenal fans from 2007 to 2010. All talk but no substance. They have won feck all and act like some big shots. When in reality all ambitious clubs actually take every cup competitions seriously. Beggars cannot be choosers. I would be embarrassed if United manager ever gave up on a trophy. I still remember how pissed I was getting knocked out against Coventry in 07-08 league cup. Celebrating a loss is not a sign of great club. If you want to dominate the world football you have to win everything.

Mistake from Klopp tonight not playing a team capable of bouncing right back. Dumped out of both domestic cups in the first round and all eggs in the PL and UCL baskets

Too early to say whether it was a mistake from Klopp. The goal is the league and possibly the CL. If we go on a losing run, you could in hindsight call out Klopp FA cup selection as an error. If we end up going on another winning run in the league, Klopp taking a calculated risk with his team selection in the FA cup will look like the right move.

It is quite clear he has his sights set higher than the FA cup and is willing to risk going trophyless for a shot at the big prize(s).

Would a few extra FA cup fixtures really hurt their fitness/concentration levels that much?

Probably would've hurt us less than failing to get back to winning ways, I reckon. Said it in the match thread - We shouldn't have been happy to lose the game coming off the back of such an important defeat. If we drop points on the weekend now, part of the blame will be on last nights selection/performance... It was the perfect chance to get some confidence back.

The kids were alright, though.

Because they played their most high intensity match of the season they had to rest players. Heck Lovren one of the few who was not rested did his hammy within minutes. And weird to bring up Ferguson who understood the importance of rotation better than anyone.

It seems VvD was ill and will be back, Gomez supposedly won't be back until the 19th for the Palace game, and Matip at the end of the month.

I'm guessing VvD will partner Fabinho against Brighton, I really hope so! Will be no easy feat scoring many away to Brighton to make up for their defensive frailties.

I think Klopp is secretly happy, the less fixtures for them the better.

At least Gomez can cover for TAA, when he is fit. Who is cover for Robertson? And Robertson is a far better defender than Trent. I don't know why Klopp let Clyne go.
