Neil Warnock has accused them of being a disgrace. They now join the very exclusive list of things Warnock thinks are a disgrace, which also includes referees, linesmen, his own team's defending, the FA, fans, almost every other team and player, sandwiches probably, brexit, the QEII bridge toll, train ticket prices, people who don't pay for train tickets, etc...

The entire league are now seeing how deluded and unbearable these guys are.

Why did they let Clyne leave? Who will be his replacement?

LVG coming out saying he’d bet on Liverpool to win the title? I don’t get this. An Ex united manager saying this is a disgrace. Not what I wanted to read first thing in the morning. I can’t get my head around this. I don’t care if he was sacked. You don’t say that.

He was sacked by Utd, don't think he gives a feck. He just giving his honest opinion.

That's Melissa Reddy? She's been around for ages but still only looks 18 there.

Hoever, even though he's only 16, might feature as well
Never heard of him so I googled and found a clip where Klopp said he is in the squad for Wolves tomorrow. 16 years though.. Gonna be interesting.

Would have had him pegged as a leave voter TBH

Why? He was our manager for 2 years, but there's not an ounce of genuine United in him. And besides, he said he thinks they'll win it, not that he wants them to. Get a grip.

LVG and other pundits/fans overstate Liverpool's defensive solidity. They've been good but also lucky.

First, in terms of xGA, there is virtually nothing between Liverpool and City: 17.10 v 17.30. Even Chelsea are not that far with 18.50, unlike say Spurs with 25.92

Second, in terms of big EPL games, City have outperformed Liverpool so far: Liverpool have conceded 7 goals in 7 games against top 6 opposition whereas City have conceded 4 goals in 6 games.

Against the best attacks in the league (City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal) Liverpool have conceded 5 goals in 5 games whereas City have conceded 1 goal in 4 games.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool start to ship out more goals. It's not like they don't concede chances. Only time can tell, though. 10 GA in 21 games is great, no doubt.

Yeah they aren't as good defensively as the hype, not bad or anything but Alisson has bailed them out a lot (and he did the same at Roma). Not that dissimilar to us last season where our goals conceded column was great yet that was pretty much all DDG.

Nothing wrong with what he said. They do look like they can win it this year. He’s not the coach anymore so he can have an objective opinion. If you’re reacting like this to that, how do you react to negative comments ex long term servants like Scholes, Keane, Neville etc pass all the time about the club or people/players associated with it.

Just seen a load of idiots arguing on a Sky Sports post. Scousers still calling Evra a rat etc.

The whole Suarez-Evra thing was such a dark time for the sport. It completely affirmed that people, including the actual manager of Liverpool, would unquestionably back their player however serious, and much bigger picture an issue was involved.
When I saw John Barnes on tv at the time, saying about how race is a "construct" anyway, I was utterly amazed.

He's clearly doing what we're all doing on this thread though.
Saying they'll win it, to both get used to such a sickening thought, and two, to possibly jinx it.

Now, if he said he "wanted" them to win it, it's a completely different thing.

It's clear to me that Liverpool are favourites for the treble.

I don't see anyone stopping them in the league, FA cup or CL.

Nothing wrong in what he said at all. He's not an United legend or anything.
And even some of our legends are tipping them for the title.
I laughed how LVG said Merson is not normal cause he said Liverpool should quickly get out of CL.

He really said that!? The man who got racially abused constantly?

Yup - it's why I can't take anything Barnes says on the issue of racism seriously anymore. He basically said that because people were ignorant to racism in the past, they can't now be aware of it and condem others for doing it (or some bollocks like that)

Actually, for posterity, Here are his comments:

"From a cultural point of view, [Suarez] has been backed by people from Uruguay saying the word he used is not deemed as a racist term."

"As much as we will say that ignorance is no excuse, ignorance is an excuse."

"Twenty years ago in England, the same people in England now condemning him were ignorant as to what racism is. Why don't they condemn themselves?"

"When Manchester United play Liverpool and 10,000 United fans are saying 'you Scouse thieves', I'd like them all to be banned."

"And Liverpool fans too, when they say 'you Manc or whatever'. So where are we going to draw the line? Racism has to be zero tolerance but this is now a witch hunt.
"

He also said this at another time:

"That is why it is pointless, and pretty ridiculous, to be worrying about a footballer getting racially abused – in no way are they the biggest sufferers, and, quite frankly, if I was someone like Touré or Rose I'd feel embarrassed if I had to look at someone who was suffering genuine racism and take their sympathy. A millionaire getting booed in Russia is nothing compared with generations of people never getting the chance to better their lives and those of their children."

There is an argument that Barnes is correct in what he says of course. But I would question his use of the idea as a way of absolving someone from being abusive on the grounds of racial origin.

Ridiculous. Racism is far worse than someone yelling Manc or scouse thieves. He'd sing a completely different tune if he wasn't a Liverpool legend.

Mistake from Klopp tonight not playing a team capable of bouncing right back. Dumped out of both domestic cups in the first round and all eggs in the PL and UCL baskets

Poor team selection tonight, can’t expect to beat Wolves with that. Better hope it’s worth it then, la.

Breaking news: Liverpool have confirmed they will be increasing their ground capacity by knocking down their trophy room as it won't be needed anymore.

Hopefully Brighton can nick some point off them at the weekend especially given they might only have VVD as the only available central defender. I think if they lose points and City are within two they'll just not be able to hold City off. City have been woken up and have KDB coming back.

They'll beat Brighton comfortably and VVD has been a one man defence for them for weeks already

With a tough Champions League tie on the way this could be a nice little anti climatic season. Too good to be true?
