Liverpool - 2017/18

Watch Lemar fee go past 100M if Liverpool try to get him. Everyone knows they're swimming in cash

Our keeper wanted to leave, we made him the best payed in his position in the world and now there is not a murmur from him about leaving. We're about to improve his contract even more.
Your keeper was a late fax away from leaving...just saying

What I am saying is getting players out of clubs that are part of the financial elite is highly implausible.
This is 100% correct, even more so when the sheiks are involved since apparently they don't care to pay top wages to unhappy players to work as gardeners...

What about them prizing Hazard out of Chelsea who's clearly about to be the highest paid player in the league.
Yeah...Hazard keeps refusing chelsea's new offers, his dad came right out and said he's waiting for real madrid...

oh and from what i've seen chelsea are offering him £300k a week. That's less than we pay to Kroos and Sergio Ramos...

True but the saga has disappeared hasn't it? Or do you expect to get him anytime soon? We all know he wanted to leave for personal reasons, nothing an extra 100k hasn't changed. Highly doubt Ramos and Kroos earn that much, even if true Chelsea will eventually tie Hazard up.

Should have taken the money in the summer clowns club is a shambles

Said all along they wouldn't miss him that much he is very inconsistent player

Funny now to see some Liverpool fans saying the same afte acting like peacocks when they told Barca no in the summer

Liverpool are a great club to be at to build your reputation before moving somewhere to win some trophies

Such a joke of a club top to bottom

Talk and write properly for ffs.

Why would they go in for Mahrez when his best position is the same as Salah's?

Would be good back-up of course but not for the quoted prices. Although I have seen it's false and won't be going through regardless.

Lemar would be a smarter move, very good player and can play left of the 3 in midfield. They would have a very strong team then but still some problems at the back and in the holding role. Mignolet is not a top keeper, and shouldn't be anything more than back-up. Could do with improving their full-backs, and a DM as Henderson isn't good enough.

Not sure if they will get Lemar in all fairness, wasn't his price 97m in the summer? Plus it's world cup year, he may not want to jeproadise his place in the French squad.

Coutinho has been class this season, you can call him inconsistent but at the same time he is far more consistent than he was a year or two ago.

Is he worth 104m + 26m + whatever after that? Maybe not, but ultimately, Liverpool were justified in keeping him in the summer due to his performances thus far, however the gamble of hoping he'd see out the season hasn't come off.

They may struggle without him and a replacement for the remainder of the season, and will have to hope the lowered attacking threat can be negated in some way by being stronger at the back with van Dijk.

Sky Sports inform that Liverpool is neither in for Mahrez, nor in for Lemar. So I guess they are not getting anyone in January. It's almost certain that they already spent all the money from Coutinho in VVD and Keita.

Sergio Ramos earns more than £300k per week? What a circus Madrid truly are.

Man, football fans are so cringey. At r/LiverpoolFC all they're doing is wank over one of Klopp's quotes about Liverpool's "heart and soul" that other clubs would surely like to buy.

Well if Lukaku is worth 80 million then they have got a bargain.

You've got to laugh at some Liverpool fans now saying that Coutinho isn't that good and quoting stats to show how much better they are without him in the side.
Rewind to before all the speculation started, and he was the second coming of Georgie Best.

They have a real penchant for drama.

So easy to manipulate Liverpool fans. Throw in some pretentious poetry and they all lap it up.

The kind of circus that won CL back to back while we couldn’t even finish in the top 4. How everyone is laughing at Madrid, yeah, haha, joke’s on them etc.

So Madrid are free from criticism of any kind including grossly excessive wage structure even though it affects our league because players such as Hazard want to leave as they are being paid less as a star attacking player for Chelsea than an overrated defender from Madrid can earn, just because they won the CL back to back?

By your logic, United cannot be criticised by fans of any other team in England having had the most successful season last year...

Gotta be honest here...I couldn’t give a solitary flying feck about this romantic spiel that somebody has written on behalf of Klopp. I think I could have predicted 80% of the sentiments said in it before reading it. “We did our best”, “club is bigger than any player”, “confident in our squad”, bla fecking bla, yawn fecking yawn.

“The club always goes on”. What the feck has it gone on to do in the last decade? Absolutely feck all. Stop fecking repeated this bullshit line, every top player that has left us has an embarrassment of silverware, whilst our lack of silverware is an embarrassment itself.

The only thing I, and any Liverpool fan, should give a feck about is who we are buying this month. Save your fecking romantic bullshit PR spin. It’s a disgrace we seemingly do not have somebody lined up doing their medical right now. But it will be a fecking abomination if we do not buy somebody by the end of January. AOC and Lallana will not provide enough creativity in an already mediocre midfield, which will stifle our attackers and leave us looking pretty toothless. We sabotaged the first half of our season by not buying a defender, and we have sabotaged the second half by selling our best player.

Here is a spoiler: we won’t buy a single player. Which means we have just willfully sacrificed our chances of winning the Champions League, FA Cup and maybe even getting top four. Yes, I said willfully, because despite whatever the club comes out and says, it was OUR CHOICE to sell our best fecking player.

What is the point of toiling over every point, hoping your rivals drop points, urging the team to score and win, when the people who the club seem so fecking nonchalant about the idea of winning?

Even he is a bit delusional:

Even with Coutinho, did he really think winning the CL was a possibility just because they thumped mighty Maribor?

Why the feck would they care how it affects our league?

I do think this might finally be a turning point for Liverpool, but there's much to be seen and I still think we'll be closer than Liverpool in terms of building to try and dethrone City. They have sold arguably their best player again, though I think Mane and Salah are very close, so it could end up being 'same old story' ala Torres, Suarez, Sterling to a lesser degree (though he's coming more than good now), where they just fail to rebuild. However, unlike Arsenal for example, they've brought in big money for their top players and Klopp is actually looking at the defence. Some may not think Virgil is the man, but he's the player they identified and wanted to try and fix the problem. They're still a few players off being able to challenge on multiple fronts - a new out and out striker to replace Sturridge (not necessarily first choice), a full back, and a goalkeeper would be the priorities in the Summer IMO. Another CM if Emre Can leaves as well. Word is they're not trying to get Mahrez or Lemar which is a surprise, but the way they play and the form of Mane/Salah makes it difficult for a player like that to get into the side. Lallana will have the no.10 role or they'll play three CMs.

I doubt that. Klopp might be a football romantic, but not even he would take over a club that promises him a net spend transfer budget of €10M per window. That is where they stand right now.

Liverpool is not stupid. They have been working to replace Coutinho since August, but so far nothing has worked out to their satisfaction. It´s not like Barcelona came with a surprise offer on Jan. 1st and Liverpool are now scrambling for a replacement on Jan. 7th.

The worst thing Liverpool could do is spend money for the sake of spending money to chase the top 4. Would you rather increase your chances to make the top 4 now by spending €110M on Lemar or wait till the summer and set yourself up properly for the next 4-5 years with a goalkeeper, central defender, defensive midfielder and winger? Even in this market, if you apply it smartly, you can do a lot of damage with that sort of money.

I´m Liverpool I seriously think about Aubameyang. That is somebody, who is actually worth €75M for his on-pitch production. Question is whether you want to deal with the off-pitch BS that comes with it. Mahrez for €55M would also be a great deal. Lemar €100M+ is a huge risk, but maybe they think his potential warrants it.
