Also you have finished 6th or worse 6 times in the last 8th seasons.

7th,6th,8th,7th,2nd,6th,8th,4th.

Finishing ahead of United isn't a trophy(unless we finish second).
 
They need 3 goals to win and even then its' not 100% certain they do.

Not at all worried at facing them in October. If Mourinho typically stifles their attack with his defensive set-up, our attackers are likely to find joy.

Much respect to you for being truthful and accurate in your assessment of last year's game. We all saw the game. You guys ended up with two trophies last year whislt we ended up with feck all but let's not distort what really happened last October.
 
Honesty @VP89 thanks for standing by your CORRECT views despite it favouring 'the enemy' or whatever I can't believe there are posters acting as if Jose didn't come to park the bus last year. I'm not even taking the piss, Jose is a football legend for that stuff because he's made it work to his advantage most of the time but to argue he didn't do that last year at Anfield... lunacy.

We parked the bus second half at Anfield, but we actually we're the better side first half as we controlled the midfield too. Had the best chance to win the game when Zlatan missed a header.

I'd say that's more accurate. We were terrible in the old Trafford game though. Liverpool were there for a proper beating and we failed to turn up.
 
Liverpool making tough work of the easiest group in the competition.

As good as they can look going forward can't help but feel they'd fair better with a proper CF.
 
Can someone explai to me what Firmino is actually good at? Don't think I've ever watched him play and been impressed, or even thought he fits that position well.

He's a good workrate and reads the game well. Klopp likes him as he's ideal for high press. I agree though I think they'd be better with a proper CF
 
New season, same Liverpool. They haven't progressed even the slightest since that clown become their manager and it's about 2 years since his appointment now.

I think we'd be better off with a CF that can do some of what Firmino does and scores more goals. It's clear we're not clinical enough.
 
I fear what they can achieve with a lethal striker and a few defenders. But for now i'll enjoy the circus.
 
Firminio doesnt look a CF or number 9 for us and he's been poor for weeks. I'd prefer to have someone like what Sevilla have like Ben Yedder, or an Javier Hernandez type, at the moment Salah's filling that poacher role but even he needs dozen chances to score one.

Seems to just waste a tonne of chances. Still think they'd be better with Sturridge as Mane and Coutinho create enough, Salah probably will too, but having a front 4 where none of them are goalscorers makes no sense (as seen in their chances created and finishing)
 
I'm trying to think back to the summer, were they even linked to a no.9?

Just seems like such a glaring area of improvement.

I only saw the second half but Spartak were very poor and Liverpool were good. 3-1 to Liverpool would have been a fair reflection of the game, or the 2nd half at least. I saw Spartak were poor mainly cuz on the ball they just kept giving it away needlessly and not because of Liverpool's pressing. Liverpool were good in creating chances but poor finishing.

Like City who destroyed them a few weeks back? Any big team would expose their midfield and defence no problem whatsoever.
 
It's hilarious, no matter how shit their results are there's still drama queens saying they'll come good soon. Eh no.

They capitulated badly after the red card in same way we did when lost to them 6-2, but prior to that I thought they had the best chances even when one goal down. However, you might be right in saying that their defense gonna be their own undoing, extremely unorganized.

PSG.. Even cannon folder in France has decent amount of chances against them every game, same goes for Barca. Bayern are far from convincing so far and looked clueless against Liverpool at home during the preseason, I'll give you Juve though.
