Liverpool - 2017/18

They won't ever turn on Klopp. It will be everyone and everything else's fault before his.

If you read actual comments on here from Pool fans you'll know that's not true. It's not that we're not turning on Klopp. It's just that barring Ancellotti, who may want to consider it, we're not getting a better manager.

Ancellotti would be a good move just not sure hed want it

Think Coutinho is looking of the boil and mane suspension is biting them. They have a sequence of away games now. They will concede a lot of goals as they just cant defend and unlike city they do not have the midfield to compensate for a shit defense. Salah scored a good goal but i think it was a more of a defensive mistake. Still 5 goals at this stage is fantastic. Think Salah might tirn out to be more important than coutinho and mane.

Still better than being at Arsenal

He'd be on more money at Arsenal.
Arsenal have finished in the CL places 9x in 10 years, Liverpool 2x in the last 7.
Liverpool have won a massive... league cup in 10 years, Arsenal, 3 FA cups in the last 4 years.
Would be living in London a world city rather than a shithole.
Wenger for all his faults plays good football, klopp just has his players run themselves into the ground.
etc

From the Liverpool reddit. I noticed it while watching the game too. Look at the lack of defensive organisation from set-pieces! That is genuinely shocking.

EDIT: apologies for the size of the image

Looks like a well played offside trap - if you ignore the fact they've got a defender on the line.

Our defence clearly needs improvement but the season is young. Unfortunately, most football fans are a bunch of reactionary twats.

Straight out of the 'shit football cliche 101' handbook.

Great positioning by Sturridge, Can, Milner and TAA.

i think there's a disconnect between the club's expectations and objectives and the the fans/media. I don't think LFC are aiming to win the league/CL this season, i think their goal right now is trying to cement their place as a top 4 team and everything more than that is gravy. They're not asking Klopp to win now. Problem is their fans can't/won't accept/realize this, and the media still sees liverpool as some giant who are supposed to be competing for titles every year

Klopp isn't in any danger so long as he keeps liverpool in CL this year. Next year now, that's likely when FSG will be expecting major trophies(PL/CL), at least challenging for them

Doesn't look like they are in the same league financially with City, United, or even Chelsea.

They had 65m for VvD didn't they, probably enough for them to buy a defender who'd genuinely improve their first XI.

It doesn't take an Einstein to realise that Klavan/Lovren are simply not good enough for a side battling for top4 let alone a title shot.

He's not in any danger even if they finish 5th-6th. He is the only manager at the moment whose vision fits their budget and ambitions, and at the same time could get more than the sum of the parts out of what he is provided to work with. Its' a perfect fit.

While FSG have shown they are willing to spend, I don't think they can provide the cash that someone like, say Ancelotti, would demand. And if Carlo has the squad Klopp currently has, he would likely finish lower than Klopp.

Not that I think they can attract Ancelotti anyway, it was just an example.

was on rawk looking through their pre match thread, they're predicting a second string line up. Surely not considering the lack of trophies and the unlikelihood of them winning the league, cl, etc.

There's no way Ancelotti does a better job than Klopp unless you spend a lot of money.

There are lot of options available in the market if they sack Klopp. Sarri or Favre or Tuchel all would be very keen to manage one of the biggest club in England.

Benitez would also be a good candidate.

Again, i dont agree with this Klopp out brigade though. Its mostly from the rival fans who want to see a circus at liverpool :)

May aswell sent Ward, Woodburn, Grujic out on Season loans, they'll get more game time for their internationals, what a waste.

Ward and Robertson both had good games tonight. I wouldn't mind seeing both start again on Saturday.

Looking a tad ominous at the moment. We haven't even lost anyone in the summer, we're simply worse than we were last season.

Yeah, that's what I don't get either. We strengthened our squad this summer (although not in the area that needed it the most), and still we look much worse than we did last season. With how things are going, I suppose it's good we now have one less cup to focus on..

Players simply can not play at that intensity season after season. Really should have made the last season count by going for a trophy.

The longer Klopp stays the closer you get to a Dortmund style performance break down. It doesn't look like your players having fun anymore.

Another trophyless season on the horizon (unless they do something in the FA Cup of course)

An uninspiring night. I liked the looks of Robertson, though. Too bad he isn't a CB

I hope they keep Klopp for as long as possible.

Already, this is the grim reality for Liverpool fans. Another season watching us, Chelsea and City most likely picking up more trophies while they pretend everything will change next season. Eternal damnation.

This is Klopp were talking about, and neither of them will be seen again until January. Ward can't get in over Mignolet and Karius, now his route to breaking into for 1st choice is limited and essentially gone, and Robertson was brought in originally to replace the player (Moreno) who was replaced by another player (milner) but is now back in over the player meant to replace him (Robertson) Klopp will revert to type, and he'll play Mignolet and Moreno on Saturday.
