Liverpool - 2017/18

Fee being reported as £82m rising to £109m. In this market ? Are you fecking kidding me FSG ? VDD is worth £60m, Keita £70m (it seems) but Coutinho only £82m ?

Riots

It's too premature to suggest it's done yet. He's leaves on LFC terms or nothing imo.

Echo said : Nothing has changed in Liverpool's no sale stance on Coutinho. This was at 15.22 BST.

Could be this is all from that ESPN quote.

Think people on here getting a bit carried away to be honest.

What would the side look like if he left? Milner in midfield and Robertson starting at LB? With Lallana out also they'd be really thin on central midfielders.

Liverpool board about to make Klopp look like a fool.

I surmise Klopp has been playing the politician role for the fan base knowing full well if the player went to the club wanting a move to Barca he would be off. This will only further endear Klopp to the fan base and the finger can be pointed at FSG and/or the player.

Are you fecking kidding. Can't liverpool do anything right? Ffs

Seems ESPN at best jumped the gun at worst listened to an ITK. Echo still saying Liverpool's stance has not changed - they are not interested.
You and Dortmund(ESPECIALLY THEM) both better not bend over :mad:

You wouldn't like me when i'm angry

:wenger::devil:

It's bollocks.
Sunday: Coutinho deal 100% done, 80mil, announcement in 5min. Source - unknown from Brazil, close to someone who knows something.
Monday: Coutinho deal 100% done, 90mil, all agreed on highest level. Source - unknowns from Brazil, but as close to Coutinho as if they're mating.
Tuesday morning: Coutinho on riot ripping shirts and burning bridges, deal 100% done, 100mil, all agreed on highest level. Source - unknowns from Spain, close to someone in somewhere no bs.
Tuesday evening: deal 100% done, 120mil, announcement tomorrow, no bs! Source - unknowns from Spain, close to Barcelona (oh really?? what a surprize).

You get the pattern?
Barca's arsehole is in flames since being hard-perforated by PSG, there will be more rumors in the upcoming days. They will try to sign at least someone. Probably got the player's agent working on their side also for a significant part of the transfer fee.

We get that in 2 years from Tinder. It doesn't look all that bad to me tbh, perhaps could be slightly smaller but it's ok.

Hm, not a fan. I think the less on a shirt the better, hopefully ours looks a bit better.

Sounds like this could be one of the most calamatous markets ever for LFC. Signing nobody of note other than Salah, getting completely blocked on Keita, and potentially losing their best player without any available replacements on the eve of the league season. Sad!

Yep. Another transfer window, another LFC laughing stock. Still can't believe we weren't looking at alternatives to Keita & VVD.

That's harsh on Robertson, Liverpool really needed a LB and he's a decent buy for a relatively cheap price.

Salah could also turn out to be a bargain given the crazy money being spent, plus Solanke albeit in friendlies looks a real decent acquisition too.
The problem is the 2 main positions we haven't resolved yet, and we made a right mess of the Van Dijk chase.

Still 3 weeks or so to go, but to not get some quality in CM and CB would be criminal. Whether that's a criticism of FSG or Klopp I am not sure, we had 2 main targets but they have not materialised. And we made a right old mess on one of them.
What is even more frustrating is we had it seems the money for 2 big purchases (not including Salah), yet haven't been able to get either done.

Well clearly the VVD story has further chapters so it's no surprise at all we've not moved on another CB ..yet. I'd agree on another CM but there's still 3 weeks to go and who knows if we are or are not engaged on other fronts.

As Klopp has repeatedly said, wait until the end of the month before wetting the bed.

As someone that's unfortunate enough to have watched Hull quite often and have many workmates that watched him week in, week out, it's not harsh at all. Hull was his level and £10m is about as high as you could pay for his level of talent.

He'll be gone next season, probably on loan cos we can't get shot of him ala Moreno, Markovic (and to an extent Lucas, Balotelli, Wisdom and Borini before we eventually offloaded them for peanuts)

So Barca have made a second £90m offer for Coutinho and LFC's response :

LFC have rejected bid of 100m euros for Coutinho from Barca. Barca have been told (again) he’s not for sale. LFC consider the matter closed…

Fair play to Liverpool. With Coutinho and Mbappe not moving to Spain its nice seeing the talent spread out a little more.
Im sick to death of these super teams

Coutinho is probably slightly unsettled now due to crazy amount of rumors from nothing. Which is not good, obviously. The worst thing of all is that at least half of the supporters have lost faith and accepted he will move, if not this summer then the next one for sure. I'm also afraid a good CL run and more latin players in the team will not be enought to keep him.
Refusing to sell players does not make a club great. It's the combination of refusing to sell best, acquiring best by ourselves and using those players to exceed expectations that can push a club up a level. And we're clearly not there yet. Signing VVD and Keita in combination with refusing to sell Coutinho would be a strong statement, but I don't see that happening as of now.

Coutinho to get sold in the end?
Not this summer. The current official position is too hard to do a U turn. It's as if you sold Sanchez to City now. Worst case - Barca will get a verbal guarantee he goes next summer, like it was with Suarez. Best case - we duck them up the butt in CL a few times and splash the cash as if we found oil under melwood, and he decides to stay. But I'd say our chances of keeping him next summer are low.
