Liverpool - 2017/18

For what it's worth (and it's not worth very much) I think the Keita deal is dead in the water. We've tried and tried much harder than I thought we would but it's not going to happen in my opinion. Leipzig clearly don't need the cash (although I've stopped drinking Red Bull and moved onto Monster to try and help) and Keita it seems, is happy to spend another year in Germany.

The VVD developments are interesting. We badly need him and Saints will probably not want to sell to us given our previous issues about a month ago. Chelsea could swoop in and take him which would be typical but hopefully he'll be at Anfield in the not too distant future.

Melissa Reddy has wrote that Keita is unlikely this summer, and I'm more likely to believe her than some "ITK".

We definitely could do with a couple more players, so I'm wondering what are our alternatives, especially in CB.

According to Paul Joyce, Klopp won't sign a CB if we can't get Van Dijk. That's extremely worrying if true but Pellegrini has been quoted today saying that VVD has asked to leave and is training alone, so you never know.

I get the impression RBL defo want to sell him - not because they don't want him but because anything above £50m is a ridiculously good deal - £80m is just obscene. I think they've played their hand brilliantly, as long as they now accept and pretend they're not happy to cash in.

If LPool have that kind of transfer kitty - I'm surprised they haven't been linked to more top players.

Leipzig wouldn't be at the dealing table had they decided not to sell Keita. They are still talking and keeping their fax machine switched on despite their protestations. BTW, the latest bid is €80M (£71,902M) Klopp is adamant that it's Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk. That's why there are no secondary options drawn up yet. Also interested in Oxlade-Chamberlain at the fag-end of the transfer window.

Your name will be changed to BigLie if we don't sign Keita.

That's charming coming from a Liverpool fan! Listen, I don't have the time to come on here in my busy schedule and LIE.

So from deal agreed in principle but only the payment structure was the stumbling block to RBL have shifted goal posts.

Yes roonster, negotiations in business are a b*tch at the best of times, even more so in football dealings and multiply 10X when Leipzig are involved. Leipzig has moved goalposts on both occasions. Why are you surprised?

Yeah their central midfield looks a bit thin when you take into account how often Henderson is injured.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Marko Grujic, Ben Woodburn. With the departure of Lucas Leiva and Kevin Stewart, I expect both Naby Keita and possibly Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be added to the squad. Then the likes of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane can drop back into midfield if required. That's not a bad midfield overall.

You couldn't be further from the truth re Keita being "happy." He is distraught with the stance Leipzig have taken! With regards to Virgil van Dijk, Southampton has very little wiggle room. Why do you think Manchester City or Chelsea (or any other club) are NOT in for van Dijk? He only wants Liverpool - been offered captaincy of the club eventually and he's told other clubs his preference is Liverpool.

You are full of shit.

From knowing the exact amount offered for Keita and him being unhappy, to knowing that VVD only wants Liverpool and has been offered the captaincy and that he has told other clubs his preference is Liverpool.

Worst "ITK" specimen I've seen on here, toss in the delusion of a scouser and you have a deadly mix.

Despite having zero confidence that you have any more idea on what's happening than the rest of us - the bolded part is the best description of late stages transfers I've seen!

The rumour that VVD wants Liverpool is hardly ITK rubbish. It's going on his pronouncements at the start of June that were all over every news outlet going.

As for Keita, looking at certain decent sources on Twitter and using the balance of probabilities I'd suggest it's a reasonable inference to think he wants a move to Liverpool. Whether he's allowed to is another thing all together.

This isn't me being ITK. Just drawing conclusions from evidence.

Since when is Ben Woodburn a central midfielder @BigSky ?

This pre-season, Woodburn has been played in a number of midfield positions. Klopp was asked this and he stated that Woodburn is being schooled about this role to see how plays develop from midfield and how he deals with pressure.

You are full of shit.

I look forward to your written apology once the season starts re both Keita and van Dijk.

I know that mate, but I was responding to a statement made by Speedy30: "Saints will probably not want to sell to us given our previous issues about a month ago. Chelsea could swoop in and take him which would be typical"

This guy seriously is the most clueless muppet I have seen since a long time. You talking about written apology is the cherry on top.

This is great stuff, lads. I've learnt absolutely nothing that I wasn't already ITK about, but very entertaining all the same.

Except there's nothing suggesting Leipzig is sitting at the dealing table, well except your oh so believable claims.:wenger: The deal is agreed you've said. Just posturing for the fans you said. Then it was not wanting to get fleeced. Then it was Rangnick flying off in a huff after having taken a hit in his pride(thumbs up for delivering insights into the mind of even RBL officials) because some non-disclosed board overruled him. Then after Mateschitz repeated exactly what Mintzlaff and the oh so in his pride hurt Rangnick were saying(and your board shit obviously doesn't fly anymore), it's moving goalposts from RBL all of a sudden, when their goalpost was and is not wanting to sell to begin with:lol:
Keep on going, you are a goldmine of muppetry-driven idiocy.

Be careful or else he'll demand a written apology from you as well.

I must admit I haven't seen too. much of Keita but if he is that good how come it is only Liverpool in for him?

Hope you're right but I guess we'll wait and see. Not getting my hopes up on either

If Liverpool got Keita and Van Dijk signed then they have made the most improvements of any team in the league by miles. They signed a very good left-back in Robertson (who If he wasn't Scottish I think every club in England would have been after him) and Salah is decent, not a world-beater but it's an improvement.

As much as I despise Liverpool, they would be huge threat in the league next season, for the top four and would go close to challenging for the title but it's still If's and but's right now.

The club must be getting some form of encouragement in both cases of VVD and Keita. Football transfers aren't just a case of sending a fax and receiving a yes or no. Some form of negotiating is seemingly ongoing.

The players definitely seem like they want to leave. Whether they will be allowed to is another thing all together.

Think they will keep coutinho and sign VVD. Dont think they will get kieta. If kieta has another good year next year then his 48 million clause will look cheap to everyone.
Coutinho will do the deal of staying another season in promise of being let go next season.

Ah it's been deleted. Pity. Some lad basically said Le T. was being a hypocrite since he left his wife and daughter for a teenage girl. Funny as feck, Le T. totally owned.
