Liverpool - 2017/18

Liverpool r making a complete fool out of themselves. Leipzig couldnt be more clear, that Keita isnt for sale, but u obviously dont understand a no. There is no chance to get him, but go on and continue believing he will come..deluded.
No harm in trying. Everyone has a price. And let's face it, we've gone after players who 'weren't for sale' before.

If they can sign VVD and Keita, they'll have a good summer and team for next season. There bench I imagine would stronger as well which will aid them in Europe.

I think you are not fully aware of the "goings-on" regarding this transfer and I don't blame you as it's not one that involves your club. This Keita deal is in principle "done." It's just that Leipzig is drawing it out to appease their fans. Every player has a price, and regardless of what their officials say, they are about to deal Keita to Liverpool for around £65M. Remember Sir Alex's comments that "I wouldn't sell Madrid a virus?" and then sold Ronaldo for £80M!

How would that help Liverpool as the preseason had already started?

The season is 9 months long, so it may not be ideal, but Liverpool would be signing Keita for 5 years (and not a few pre-season games) In any case, the same applies to other clubs as the window closes 1st September, but players will still move even after the season starts in August.

They have no reason to "appease" their fans, they are happy enough. Forsberg wanted to leave, too. His agent threw a proper tantrum, alas to no avail. Mateschitz wants a full strength Leipzig in the CL, he doesn't need money, he wants success. And that's why he's not selling Keita this season.
There's zero indication in the German media and Leipzig messageboards suggesting a move seems likely. All drivel from British twitter accounts so far.

That's for the clubs who are yet to reach agreement. Since Liverpool have already reached one why are they waiting for 2 players? They should be with Liverpool preparing for season isn't it? Or what would Southampton and Leipzig get from this? They think their fans are fools? Even more ridiculous is they will have less time to find replacements.

Tbh English journalists said bids are rejected, only this guy is posting some bs ITK stuff.

Don't know why Liverpool fans are so sure the club will suddenly dish out big money for single transfers when they haven't really in the past. They obviously could, but I wouldn't view these signings as complete until they're official since it would be a new thing for their club

I'm definitely not 'sure' he's coming, I'd say it's 50/50 at the moment based on reports from both German and English media.

The manager wants to let Keita go...he doesn't want a player who wants to be elsewhere...it's just the president of Leipzig who is denying the transfer, most likely because he is playing a negotiation tactic. This move will go through and it'll be for about 70million.

Good player, very good player. But is likely to make no difference whatsoever to Liverpool's impact on the EPL.

so u r trying to explain to me now how BL or a club like Leipzig work?

Listen, u know absolutely nothing and u r obviously just another of this clueless PL fanboys. Keita will 100% not join Liverpool this summer and u just talk nonsense.

Okay we will see I guess. What is your source for being so sure, you used the word clueless like you have some information nobody else has.

Will he join? I don't know, but your daft assumption could come back to haunt you.

Also on a forum it's not like texting your mates down the pub, is it too much hardship to use proper words in your post. How old are you, 12?

We aren't so sure, but we didn't spend anything effectively in the last window and obviously have money to spend on Klopp's primary targets.

German reports? There are none. This topic isnt one in Germany, as the situation is clear. No important player is going to be sold this summer and there ll come a time, when even the most deluded Liverpool supporter will get this..prob not before September though, as the very reliable English media will continue to feed u with more fake and invented news. Cant wait for the next ITK reporter from Guinea to come up with some hot news.

Transfers take time, are all of United's purchases for next season out with the squad on tour?

Do I need more sources than Rangnick and Mintzlaff? Everybody who has a say has categorically ruled out any possibility. What sources do u have besides lying English press?

I haven't said he is definitely joining, it is you who are saying he definitely isn't. I don't have any sources for such information as I don't know what is going on.

You obviously do.

Yes cos all people who have a say at Leipzig r speaking with one voice. Not my prob that English media and Liverpool simply just cannot accept their decision. What is so hard to understand that Leipzig have an ambitious project? Why should they bend over for Liverpool, when their target is to become a powerhouse themselves and u wont become that when fulfilling the wishes of others.

They dont need ur money and they said even 100m+ wont change anything. Keita just moved there last summer, so why should they agree top sell an integral part of their young team? Rangnick and Mitzlaff have categorically ruled out any possibility and its also not my fault, that u guys have obviously no idea what kind of personality Rangnick is. When he says there is no chance to get the player, then there is no chance. The big boss Mateschitz would also never do anything to displease Rangnick, as he is the brain behind the project.

There is zero chance Leipzig will change their stance and soon u ll recognize it too.

The chances that this transfer could bite me in my back and haunt me are not worrying me in the slightest. I m 100% sure that my prediction is going to be right thats why I m acting this way. The last time when I said a player wont be sold, but was at the end is years ago and this wont be another case of me being wrong.

u r obviously going to claim u were right all along won't u.

I will claim I was never sure we were going to sign him anyway which is pretty much what the Liverpool fans on here are saying.

You wont see me bragging about being right at the end. I ll just enjoy in silence being right.

I m also reading in RAWK and the delusion there has been pretty high since months. Ezekiel is doing good work there, but u guys r not believing him or me there too.

There's no point arguing with you about this. If it happens you'll look like a fool, if it doesn't I still won't be wrong since all I ever said was I think there is a possibility to sign him, which there always is.

Bild reported a £57m bid was rejected by the way and we'll likely make an improved one next week.

An ITK called Nostradamus.

We can all go home now because this debate is done...

they dont sell its that simple. they dont need money whatsoever. nostradamus is right the situation is absolutely clear in leipzig

I think you should calm down a bit. Also, properly writing out the terms "you" and "are" wouldn't hurt.

The rejection was accompanied by a firm response, saying there'll be no pain barrier for a transfer. So, a couple million more will not make a difference. As I've said before, Forsberg's agent tried to force a move, and failed. Now he has backpedaled in public. Seeing that Keita is even more important to their mission, which is an international Soda promotion gig, there's little reason to doubt Rangnick's words.
This supposed improved bid better be substantially improved, like +30m improved to make it a viable thought.

My feeling is that Liverpool will sign Keita. I think RBL's stance is a bargaining tool. I'm also under the impression that Klopp and Liverpool would have backed out of this move if it was so dead in the water.

That's my take.

They can't keep him beyond next summer even if they wanted too. He's got a 45m release clause that kicks in next summer. Also, I think you've taken what club officials said too seriously. Just because they dismissed a transfer doesn't mean it won't happen. Allegri had said Pogba isn't for sale the day before he signed for us.

You should place a few quid on this "100%" outcome if you truly believe this. Odds are currently 1/6 in favour of Keita moving to Liverpool and 7/2 for him to remain.

Your arrogantly unwavering belief is bizarre, even in light of an English press that knows feck-all (I agree the press has been useless regarding transfers this year).

Strangely, I feel we've more chance of landing him since our bid was rejected than I was in the weeks previous. I don't think we'd have put in a £57m offer unless we'd already sounded them out about the possibility of him coming here, so it seems that possibility exists. Like everyone here, I can only interpret what the various sources are saying, but it seems there's a difference of opinion amongst the board and management about whether to let him go, with their DoF Ralf Rangnick set against the move, whilst others at the club are more accepting. It also appears that Keita himself wants to move here too, which might count for something. I certainly don't think that what Rangnick has said about the deal not happening should be taken as gospel, and I'm surprised that any football fan (particularly any transfer muppet) would put such weight on his words. Besides anything else, his isn't the final word on the matter.

I would still only put our chances at around 50/50, although I thought a deal was all but dead this time last week, so hope springs eternal!

He won't be key to their "project" or "mission" in the future, and they know that very well. If he doesn't leave this Summer, he'll 100% be gone after next year because of his buyout clause (€55m). A club is led by businessmen, not Rangnick. Why keep an unhappy player for one year extra and lose out on ~€20m profit as well (I know they don't need money but still)?

Keita didn't feature in their kit release. He went back more than a week earlier to discuss his desire to leave. All the signs are there he wants to leave Leipzig. Liverpool isn't linked with any other midfielders, Klopp seems to be confident it'll get done. I'm not but the chances are definitely there. So outright saying "it won't happen 100%" seems a bit rich at this point.

Who knows, if he can't leave this summer he might sign a new contract for much bigger wages at Leipzig.

The odds that Liverpool is going to sign keita are very small and knowing them they'll end up with another Southampton player.
Leipzig will do everything to keep him, they don't need money and can offer cl. Additionally when he plays another season like this, top5 clubs will be after him. It is not now or never for him. Quite the opposite.

Are you texting this response? Edit* Just seen the above posts, is he like 8 years old?

Go out in the CL group stage instead of advancing, and there go your 20m, on top of the loss of Marketing buzz, which is all what this "club" is about. Rangnick btw *is* Mateschitz's governor at Leipzig. He's calling the shots, the only other person of notice is Mintzlaff, who's been saying exactly the same things. I have no idea who these "businessmen" supposed to overrule them are.
I'm sure Keita won't grief too much about staying there another year. If he performs as expected, a lot of the top clubs will come knocking.

Well, I didn't say 100%, just that I see the chances being rather slim, unless Liverpool makes a truly outrageous offer. Besides, Leipzig isn't linked to any other midfielder either, and have declared their transfer business completed. Hard to imagine if they were to sell their most important midfielder.
Let's see how it pans out.

How you are so sure of all this? Given the stick Nostradamus is taking in this thread for his conviction that he won't come to you, Liverpool fans are happy to go along with you who is also pretty sure that he'll come to you inspite of no evidence of that.
