Apparently CanalPlus have said Fekir to Liverpool is 99% done. Thoughts?

Good if true. Keita, Fekir - those are caliber of players I want us mostly to be after. Someone who has shown his strengths already, but not yet at their peak and glory. Someone we can still improve or influence to fit us more. And not crazy expensive.
Fekir can back up Salah, but mostly he's a Firmino backup in 4-3-3 or behind the striker in 4-2-3-1. Now I wonder if our last game switch to 4-2-3-1 is forced by lack of midfield options or a glimpse of what's to come next season.
If Fekir really is joining then thank God that 1) he has chosen to play for Algeria over France and 2) they're not in the world cup. Our current front three are going to be shattered by August.

Apparently we’re the last team to beat Madrid in a European Cup final and that was in 81. People are reversing the 81 and using it as some sort of sign.

I answered it in the post you quoted. If we lose the final, it's still been a good season imo. Even if we lose, we, the fans as a group, are behind the manager.
The reason why, is because there is progress in the development of the team. We play as a unit and get the best out of the players we've got, and I believe the team are better than the sum of its parts.
We lost Coutinho, one of our top players, in january, and we haven't missed him at all. The team has arguably performed better since Coutinho left. To me, the team is the star, and it looks like our players can adapt to our style and perform in our system.
Sure we need better players in certain areas to really challenge, and our squad is paperthin. But I can't see anything that suggests our manager doesn't know what to do. And he has gotten nearly all his transfers right until now.
If we've had a good season or not, can be measured in the optimism among the fans looking at next season, and I have yet to see a Liverpool fan, who isn't optimistic and fully behind the manager. And that won't change whether we win or lose the final.
Silverware? Yeah.. That would be really nice. Let's see if he can bring that in the next couple of years. In the meantime, I'm enjoying our football.

Well when both the teams have a chance at the trophy why wont you like a shot at the biggest trophy available in club competition? I will always take a shot at bigger trophy if I had the option to chose between two. Also playing CL final gives you more exposure than playing, Infact even winning the FA Cup. More exposure = more new fans aka gloryhunters = more money and sponsors = more spending power.
The list is pretty much the same as last year's, few 60-70+ million players and few 10-20 million players. Btw, we are being linked with lots of creative midfielders( AM and CM) , a defensive midfielder, Winger. Soon we will see few CBs and fullbacks being linked. As for the names, Nabil fekir and Dembele are making the rounds. The links to fekir are more concrete. In short we are being linked to quality players since Klopp's arrival instead of 20 million not so good players under Brendan.
I haven't seen lots of optimism throughout the season from Liverpool fans especially after a 'slip-up' or two.
They were very critical and many were baying for heads to fall - so the CL might be a saviour for the club, manager and players.
United have had 26 great years under SAF and we're still getting the right formula for success under Jose and therefore we can wait patiently until that time comes.
Thirteen (13) Premier Leagues and much more keep us happy for now seeing that there are many, many Liverpool fans who NEVER EVER saw their team win the Premier League.
I believe it when you say, that Manchester United still has the right formula, and that the fans are happy and patient. Good for you. This place must be filled with threads worshipping your team and manager.
