Liverpool - 2017/18

Cant remember a more convincing performance from United team against Liverpool during that first half. Utterly dominant in every sense of the word from Bailly through to Lukaku, everyone knew their role and followed it through to the letter.

Wave after wave of Liverpool attack crashing against that brick wall in from of DDG, a defensive master class. Lukaku and Sanchez a consistent threat on the counter, the former winning practically everything that came his way and more often than not released the ball to a team mate, and Sanchez, although very much lacking room to breathe in his position behind Lukaku, grafted tirelessly and created a few decent moments with clever movement and knowledge of the role. Against a weaker team he will prove far more effective, we have found his best position if you ask me. Rashford a constant threat off the right flank and 2 lovely finishes to boot.

Matic and Mctominay were outstanding too, the latter seems to progress his game on a weekly basis. Didn't give him a hope when I first saw him play, gladly he is proving myself and many others wrong.

Positives for Liverpool? There were none, you were shite. Live with it.

We need to learn from games like this. This is why United win things and we don’t. Everyone blasts Mourinho for occasionally playing defensively but if we had anything near the same tactical know-how that he does, we’d probably have a Europa League trophy in the cabinet and maybe we wouldn’t be 2-0 down right now.

Lovren needs to be binned though.

How is he in a team with aspirations ? It's completely beyond me. He's shit and a liability . Them two tackles he done on thingy were comedy. Pure feckin comedy .

Delighted to see him start. Matip might have his faults but Lovren shouldn't be ahead of him ever.

Their fantastic record against the big clubs has become a myth.
They were excellent last season, but it seems like this season the big clubs have found out how to play against them.

Anytime he opens his mouth to the press, after he has had a few good games, you can be sure he will be shite next time out. His first half performance wasn't far off his Spurs at Wembley level, just not quite as comical.

To be fair I did say in the summer that they'd do very well to get anywhere near the same points against the top 6 sides this season compared to last.

It was going to be a case of whether they could improve the points against the lesser sides enough to compensate.

Looks like we have so far. A few too many draws but we’re on course for a good points total.

If he hasnt played his last game for us Iam finished. Its a similar situation to Moreno who hadva good pre season then waltzes back into the first team. We have some youngsters in our first team but they are good with big potential but still learning and get found out too many times. Our squad is like this.

1). Good players
2). Average player who can put in a shift from time to time
3). Young players with potential they play well but get find out
4). Absolutely fecking shite players who should be binned

I agree with this. It’s one thing to lose a header but hold the player up and don’t fall the feck over like a newborn deer. Christ. Every season he does something that leads to goals.

4th season in a row without losing to them in the league. 5 wins 3 draws.

Aren't we the only top club Klopp yet to register a win on it in the league ?

One dimensional in their attacking play. I still think they are over achieving with that they have. Klopp has done a good job but for the next step he will need to add extra elements to their attacking play, and find VVD a partner.

Can, Milner and Chamberlain in midfield should not be scaring many teams.

Yeah but we’ve played four of those five league games against Mourinho. He knows how to play against us.

Klopp has a real problem with Jose. Thats 4 in a row when they haven't scored a legit goal from open play against us.

A fair amount of time has passed since his departure. Could have quoted anyone but I always like to pick the confident predictors on here. Seeing as my predictions are usually called up.

Quite a few of us said numerous times he was not our best player last season (Mane) and he isn't this (Salah). Before that even wasn't it Suarez?

Anyhoo, since his departure we're the only team to have beaten City. Doing well in the CL against fodder. Scored 17 league goals. Haven't counted the cup goals. And in a better position in the league now than when he was here. Slight blip being the FA cup exit, something Coutinho has also been involved in for five years.

So, Kraftwerker, comfortably our best and most creative player, eh? Maybe you should go to Specsavers.

After watching that toothless shit-show from your attack, can't help but feel having Coutinho in there would have been better than Oxlaids.

But what do I know :smirk:

Ifs and Buts.

Can't speculate on a player who's heart wasn't in the team and isn't in the team anymore. There is no guarantee that he would have made a difference, especially how our defense played today. Watched the game live and:
- Man Utd defended with utmost discipline
- Mane had a really bad game. Instead of staying wide, he kept drifting in and misplaced a lot of the passes
- Lovren --> Need I say more? The two challenges on Fellaini pretty much summed him up. Even Klopp was furiously shouting at him
- Midfield - Matic and McTominay knew their roles and did well. Our midfield was running around like headless chickens

I am optimistic about our team, but we definitely need to improve. A new CB would go a long way and we need a midfield destroyer that can sit in front of our CBs. A loan option on Krychowiak would have been a good test as the system would have suited his abilities. Naby Keita will surely improve the Midfield, but it would be nice to get a consistent partner with him in the midfield.

Wish Rafateria was here now :D

I'm sure he'd be telling us how losing against Utd today, and going 8 league games now without beating us, is actually a good thing for Liverpool but because we're bitter biased mancs we can't see it.

That tends to be his style when Liverpool feck up.

That's 4 league games now against Jose and Klopp's Liverpool have scored 2, a penalty and a bizarre fluke own goal. Attacking is meant to be his strength too.

Funnily enough Van Gaal won 4 out of 4.
Three against Rodgers who didn’t have a great record in that top six mini league.
Fair play to @Klopper76.

He always comes in and faces the music without any excuses. One of the best oppo fans here for that.

See if the others surface later!
Can’t really hide when we’re deservedly beaten then post loads when we’re winning. I’m really disappointed with today. I think Mourinho did a bit of a number on us.

Still think we’ll come third though.

Why they didn't sign N'Zonzi for his very low release clause I'll never understand.

Perhaps waiting for Oreol Romeu if Southampton goes down.
