Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

If they hang on for the win... how many points were we ahead of them earlier this season? How many posts of green smilies? Shit.

10 points ahead at one point.

Really down to Liverpool actually improving and United just staying at the same level.

Yep, while we've been poor to an extent, they have managed to find some very good form.

Really galling to seeing Liverpool thoroughly outplay City yet we're complete cowards whenever coming against them.

Watch us get trimmed by City in our 2nd game against them... can't see us getting top 4 now.

What a brilliant result. First half was good from both sides, but that second half was brilliant on our part. Coutinho was obviously the standout, but Allen, Skrtel, Moreno, Henderson and Sterling were all very good too. Lallana, Can and Markovic weren't bad and even Lovren improved in the second half. Rodgers deserves so much credit for turning us around.

Don't think Allen has had a better game for us than to be honest. Credit where it's due.

Looks a different player to the one that played at Spurs. Nine points from Spurs, Southampton and City is good. Should allow us for an off day. We'll lose to Chelsea and can't see us getting more than a point at the Emirates, but hopefully in our other fixtures we can maintain this consistency.

Since our 3-0 win against Liverpool at Old Trafford, Liverpool have won 8, drawn 3 and lost 0 in the Premier League. This run including Spurs, Southampton away and City.

Here's hoping they feck up a few games against teams they should be beating, like when they drew 2-2 to Leicester.

Scouses were the better side overall but nothing to write home about. Both teams were pretty ropey at times. The serious difference was Kompany who had a strange game again. Both sides looked worn down by their Europan games. Rodger's is not the great manager people think, mid week proved that with an aweful performance. Certainly all club performances here and in Europe indicate just how far the quality of the EPL has declined.

Allen was excellent. Hope he can keep it up.

Allen has had many better games for us but he's an obvious target when things don't go well. He did good today no doubt.

When they want to they play fast, direct, pass and move attacking football.

It's attacking, it's exciting, it's how I wish we played again.

Instead of this side to side to side to side to side to side to long ball, lose it, win it back pass side to side to side to side to long ball and repeat

It`s the LVG safety first way though

Yep. Whilst a few people were praising him against Besiltas I wasn't, I thought he gave away possession far far too much and was generally shite, he doesn't play well when we are on the back-foot. Today we played more to his strengths, going forward, excellent control and picking holes in their midfield. Excellent game.

Just got back from the game, not sure what you are on about - considering the late return from the midweek game our energy levels were fantastic.

Allen for example looked exhausted at the end of the game on Thursday, I thought he was excellent today.

The pre-game yap about City winning was ignoring the fact that Liverpool are currently the league's best team if you use the last two months as your guide. Rodgers has the team working incredibly hard coupled with individual players turning games at key moments.

To be up to fifth now and so close to top 4 is a lesson in how you should measure your vitriol and criticism in 'the moment'. Seasons are built over time not by the end of November.

Yep, use that tough away match to 'prove' your point about Rodgers. Ignore the 8 wins in 11 or last season's endeavours or his capacity to adapt time and again.

Your lot were pretty flat for the first 10, lucky with the post, and very square for the City goal. If you read what I wrote I still gave your lot the benefit of the doubt, but they couldn't get much worse after mid week.

You have to hand it to liverpool. While the majority of players they have brought in have been average to poor, right from the get go there was clear intent to build around a attacking style of play with plenty of pace and flair. so while on a player for player basis our squad is arguably better, they play much better football.

How the feck did SEP get promoted? He's goddamnawful.

Perhaps in the EPL but in Europe being twice dumped out of cups in one season isn't much of an overall improvement.

Thank feck we`ve still got to play Liverpool , Arsenal and Spurs . At least it`s still in our own hands to take points off them .
