Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Rumoured team: Mignolet; Markovic, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno; Henderson, Lucas; Gerrard, Borini, Coutinho.

Borini starting is shocking.

Well that's shit. Don't see us getting a result without him...

Ah fair enough. Would be a good signing. Underrated.

Would be a shite signing. He's a good player, but if we bought him it would be because we saw him as a key player. He isn't going to swap being a squaddie at City for being a squaddie here. Not only that, but the only attackers that we should sign are ones that fit in with how our attacking players play and ones that offer goals. He does neither. We need players who are on a similar level to Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge, not ones who are worse.

Borini starting is shocking.

He's in the shop window. Liverpool won't just send him packing for £4-5m to Italy if they think they can squeeze £13-15m out of a club he'll actually agree to go to.

If he isn't going to perform well, then how does his value increase?

Does your team normally get leaked a day before the game?

I think the idea is he's giving him the opportunity to perform well, if he does he might catch someones eye and get a move. I don't subscribe to the idea, for the sake of £6-7m I'd have binned him in the Summer and probably saved a couple of mil by now in wages.

 We agree on something!

Seriously though, I agree. He has been in the news aying that this is what he wants to do. Seems like he is putting pressure on the owners.

That's because your temporary memory loss last season regarding Liverpool's recent history has warn off.

Liverpool need to get realistic with their transfer targets and so do the supporters. Milner would be an good signing for Liverpool especially on a free.

Don't see us winning with him either. Sunderland get a stupid amount of draws and I think that'll happen again, with or without him.

Yeah.

No he wouldn't.

Christ, how can you start that sack of shite Borini? I watched one of your recent games with a couple of Liverpool supporting mates and they were fuming and swearing everytime he touched the ball. 'Disgrace' was one of the nicest word they had for him

"We have to have confidence that in the time I have been here there have been some outstanding players who have come. Last season, after nearly winning the league, we were in a position to attract a level of player. The team has changed, but the great name of Liverpool is the same"

- Brendan Rodgers backs the Reds' proven transfer policy.

Doesn't look like the 'level' is very good Brendan.

I'm not sure our United friends realise what is coming TBH. Most will do well to retain their sanity. I don't think that there has been anyone quite like Gerrard who has retired in this manner before. Lampard is the nearest but I don't think the nation sees him in quite the same light. Giggs' retirement was too slow and he didn't cross the pond. Beckham went off to Spain and was a too young anyway, so not the same. Anyone prior to them were not part of the Sky Generation.

For the rest of this season it's going to be The Gerrard Story week-in week-out, there will be highlight reels, interviews & quotes from managers and players past and present (not just ex-Liverpool), articles and love-ins everywhere you look, from Spain to Germany to the Prime Minister. Every word, every statement, every match he plays, goal he scores and anything else he does will be lovingly and painstakingly documented and delivered to the public in triplicate ... per hour. The BBC, ITV and especially Sky will be all over this, whatever any team accomplishes in the PL will fade into insignificance .... Gasmanc will be driven to absolute distraction and be consigned to Shutter Island.

I've ordered a case of popcorn, 5 extra cases of Sauvignon Blanc, a box of Cubans and a footstool. feck the football this is going to be ace ...

Ffs :lol::lol:

Even Borini starting ahead of Balotelli. So he is definitely done I take it? Unless he turns it around drastically.

Jesus Christ!

Is Lovren injured or just shite?
He's had a groin injury since the Bournemouth cup tie. Echo reported that he is expected to return to our squad tomorrow though.

Fair dues. Will he go straight back in the team?
I think (and hope) not. If the above-mentioned rumoured team is anything to go by, it'll be Can, Skrtel and Sakho at the back.

He was dodgy against Wimbledon at centre back but otherwise has been a breath of fresh air at the back. I'd rather have him in midfield, and I wouldn't pick him if it was 4 at the back, but in a 3 his ability on the ball helps.

James Pearce is saying Cech is our ideal goalkeeping signing. He's reiterating that we're after Milner and has said we are keeping Lambert and want Origi to return.
The Telegraph are saying Johnson will leave amd that we have tried to sell him now, but no one wants him.

I thought Rodgers liked Johnson? He played him 15 times this season before injury and moaned when he did get injured. Wasn't he playing ahead of Manquillo and Flanagan at times? Sounds like fan wishful thinking to me.

Why would the Telegraph, one of a select few trustworthy papers, report something based on wishful thinking?

Why would Rodgers look to sell a player he has consistently played this season when fit when he's already down to one Right Back and had to play Henderson at wingback at times?

Struggling to see where Milner would fit in. Henderson already offers the versatility and box-to-box endurance whilst being captain elect.
