Lovely gesture :
When a young student posted on a website after getting stranded in Liverpool, he probably never expected a complete stranger to rush to his aid. But that's exactly what happened when the Leicester City fan, known as LCFCRyan, took to the internet to share his predicament. The youngster had travelled up from London to watch Leicester's 2-2 draw away to Liverpool along with his 10-year-old nephew.
But joy soon turned to misery for the pair after a taxi driver took them to the wrong station meaning not only did they miss the last train back to the capital, but the £54.20 cost meant they were left with no other means of getting home and had to walk back from the airport to the city centre. By that point the station was closing and desperate to find an indoor public place to spend the night, the sixth former wrote on the Liverpool FC page of Reddit.
They wrote: "Wait near the main entrance to Lime Street (the entrance facing the big TV screen) and I'll give you the money for a hotel room and a taxi so you can get there safely. I'll be there in about 15 minutes."
The next day, LCFCRyan thanked their saviour once again adding "I just want to tell you how thankful myself, my nephew and my family are. My sister who is also the mother of my nephew is driving up to Liverpool right now and I don't think she'll be letting me take him on another trip soon. "In all seriousness I don't know what we would have done if it wasn't for you and I personally will never forget your generosity."
