Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

Not to derail our abuse of Liverpool, but I imagine a good physiotherapist can help her manage the situation with strengthening and teaching her proper movement patterns to avoid irritating the nerve etc.
Thanks Tim but I'm afraid the issue is the degeneration, the tissue can not be replaced or regrow so it's a case of managing it as best we can. This is a real blow because we are both very active travellers, hikers.

That's terrible, back pain is an absolute bollox, having been there myself I know just how bad it is, the pain is intolerable at times from sciatica, my thoughts and best wishes are with you and Mrs Raf.
Hope you don't mind if I still rip the piss out of LFC though, because I will regardless :D

Thanks mate, appreciated. It is terrible to see her in such pain and you know only too well how that feels :(

re. baiting (err sorry I mean banter), I would expect nothing less ;)

Health is the one thing we take for granted but you can at least reassure the wife that sciatic pain has fkall on watching Liverpool ;)

Have you watched United ? You will be hugely disappointed, we bordered superb today, the foshiffy we all heard about has emerged :D

Yes, I can imagine. If you are ever in the UK you should seek out Dr. Damian Fahy.

Looked pretty even in terms of chances on the MOTD highlights, about 4 or 5 decent efforts each. Great header from Lambert for the goal and Johnson did really well to put that in.

you are very strange to reiterate this point about you taking the piss out of liverpool in light of this man describing what his wife is going through

I simply have better things to do. You can count that as a victory if you want.
Yea, it was a rather odd when you you chimed in with "what are you on about" it felt like a poor attempt at insult at the time, should have realised that in reality you actually didn't have a clue.
It's noted.

Sorry but amid "taking the piss out of Liverpool" Rafa brought that up, it's of course very sad, ive had similar back problems myself and made a full recovery. I have wished all well and continued to take the piss out of 11th placed Liverpool.
Making light of a situation sometimes makes it less stressful, for example, I could ask Raf if it's lower or middle back pain subtly referencing Liverpools league position etc, but I wont.

Poor thing. Been there done that. I used to do a lot of road running - 70-80 miles most weeks and it ruined my back. Had neurosurgery on fecked discs in lower back nearly 20 yrs ago now and have been managing it since. If you want to chat about it PM me; I'd be happy to give you a call. Sounds like you're a very supportive, empathic partner which will help her enormously. I've been lucky that way too.

That sounds awful mate - glad that the operation was of some success and that you have managed to regain a modicum of your lifestyle. Serious back issues are just so debilitating they can completely destroy a person's life. Many thanks for the PM offer - she is recuperating well now but if it reoccurs I'll certainly revisit this thread and seek out advice from those having offered it.

Appreciate the support mate. It's OK though, I've got broad shoulders and Gas' quips can even raise a smile at times :D

for sure ha. it was just the fact it kept being reiterated that it seemed bizarre to me. that's all. hope all is well man

Mignolet is officially the worst keeper I've ever seen at Liverpool. And I've seen a lot of bad keepers.

It really is baffling how he's still your first choice keeper. Should ship him back to Sunderland if they are willing to take him.

Defence & Keeper need scrapping in January nevermind the summer. That goal was just a clusterfeck, Glen "Im not crawling" Johnson out of position. Yeah you can't run back either dickhead. Even a headed clearance off the line can't save us.

Raheem Sterling has created 22.8% of Liverpool's chances in the league this term, more than any player at the club. Gerrard next on 19.9%.

Another win for us. Nice to start picking up a bit of momentum. Gerrard proving his critics wrong once again and showing why he still can play a big role in this Liverpool team. He was very good tonight. I thought everyone excluding the back four and Mignolet played well. Mignolet was awful, Skrtel was rubbish, Manquillo was fine defensively but not great going forward, Moreno was poor, Johnson was okay and Toure was okay too.

Lee Mason put in one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen. He was atrocious. Even saying he was atrocious does not do him justice.

Not sure I'd say Gerrard was very good, every time I cast my eyes at the TV he had a midfielder coasting by him. He's a luxury player at best now.

Matty James was the best midfielder on the pitch there today.

First part of that is nonsense. He tracked back well considering the position he was playing and he had a very good game tonight.

James was okay. He was not anything special. Lucas and Gerrard were both better than he was today.

From what I seen in the background I thought yous were nothing great at all, even pretty poor again to be honest. But a win is a win and that is all that matters at this point I suppose.

Just seen the highlights. Can't believe Cambiasso missed that open goal. Schmeichel also handed them their 3rd.

If I were to judge them just from those highlights, then I'd have to say I'm still very confident going into our game against them.

The way Rodgers spoke then on BT Sport it sounded like Gerrard is weighing up a move to a foreign country. Talking about lifestyle decisions for his family etc, not salary issues.

Pretty much. Far from our worse performance of the season but not too good either. Just pleased we won, need to scrape through this bad spell.

Telegraph said similarly yesterday. Said we'd offered him a new contract with a coaching role to come after retirement, but he wasn't sure what his role would be in the side for the next two years. It also said he wouldn't do a Lampard and join another British team.

We weren't great. Going forward we were good, but defensively a shambles (Lucas aside).

They had an interview with Gerrard on my river and he was not open to talking about it at all. Just said that he would come out and make an announcement when the time was right.

I'd back him to stay and be a 1 club man. Was interesting that McMannaman and Owen, men that know the real Steven Gerrard, dismissed it and said while it's a possibilty, knowing him like they do, with his young kids all in schools and the family so deeply routed to the city they suggested him leaving would be unlikely and that he'll stay. Could of course be a PR trick by Rodgers to get a public showing of support for him and turn the screw for the fans and generate good stories about Stevie after the negativity he faced of dropping him.

Yeah, I think Stevie will stay too. All the BT lads were saying they expect him to.

Among more mediocre defending there were some signs of swagger. Finally. Lallana might have scored but he did fck all for the rest of the game. Allen immediately made us solid and dangerous going forwards.

Gerrard looked good, still got a bit of class in and around the opposing area. Just keep him away from defence and we should be ok against Basle (key, key game). Maybe rest Stevie on the weekend?
