Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

The worse part about the whole day for them is they still have to go back and live in Liverpool :nervous:

It was always going to be difficult with more games this season and no Suarez, but the money they got for Suarez has been spent bad.

What to say about that? Absolute shit in all areas, just like our season.

Forget the fact that it was Liverpool, that was absolutely abysmal. They offered absolutely nothing all over the park. Probably the worst performance from any side with intentions of finishing in the top 15 I've seen this season.

Will be a walk in the park for Chelsea next weekend and when they play Madrid midweek it could well be double figures.

I said second at the start of the season and I still think that's attainable. Thankfully City look shite too.
You thought you'd have as good of a season this year, with added champions league games and without your one world class player? Even the most optimistic fan couldn't have expected to challenge for the title after the summer you had...

We should put the Liverpool result in context, they have had a medium finish of 7th place in the past 5 seasons, their squad is not under performing. Most Liverpool fans I have come across talk as if their club normally challenges for the title but that is their delusion.

Take Newcastle, they finished 5th in 2012 and then the following season 16th, this is the nature of football.

The champions league is hurting them in my opinion because of the reduced time spent on the training ground. I think once the group stage is over and we get past the busy christmas period combined with the return of Sturridge they will look like a much better side, they just need to work on a few things.

I do think some of the Liverpool posters on here now look silly though with their comments this summer.

Liverpool still have more points than us. I know United's prospects seem brighter going forward but even this piss poor Liverpool side are currently outgaining us.

I don't want to bump Lovren's thread again but he was absolutely woeful again. Not just with his defending but his non-existent first-touch and his shoddy passing as well. I can't even think of any Liverpool player who had a positive game. It's just a disaster waiting to happen with the likes of Mignolet, Johnson, Moreno and Lovren all having an error or two in them.

Skrtel is hardly a defensive stalwart but he is probably their best defender right now, which says a lot about Liverpool's state of defense. Midfield struggled to assert themselves with Henderson being off-colour. Sterling was anonymous and Balotelli was well, Balotelli... Why wasn't Lallana starting? He has been decent and probably Liverpool's best attacking player after Sterling so far. Surprised to see Borini come on before him. Resting him for CL? I don't know what to make of Gerrard's performance tbh. Wasn't woeful or great either.

They aren't just struggling on an individual level but they can't seem to function as a cohesive unit when defending and attacking as well.Their football was extremely stale and lacked any sort of tempo to it. No organisation when it comes to defending and couple of real error-prone defenders and keeper at the back. Overall, they have a shaky defense, an uninspiring midfield and an attack that relies on Sterling and Sturridge playing well.

They don't look to be progressing and signs that they are improving are non-existent, at least to me. It just doesn't look good at the moment and they could really really really do with Sturridge for some individual quality to bail them out right now...

Aye, it's tragic. In the long-run we'll be ahead though, no worries.

One. With a game in hand. All we need is a draw against City to level with them. Even if that doesn't happen, I don't expect them to stand a fighting chance against Chelsea. And let's not forget we've yet to play each other. At a time when Falcao will, hopefully, not be injured and will have picked up some steam. I'd reckon we're in a far better position than they are.

You can say exactly the same about Sturridge and he's much more vital to us than Falcao is to you.

Horrific performance today, absolutely no positives. I hope Madrid will have mercy.

Their fall is all the more sweet because of how close they came last year.

A lot of Liverpool fans thought that last year was going to be the beginning of an era for them.

I think the issue is Liverpool fans have got carried away again, not only with their own performances last season but with United's under Moyes.

It is easy to see why United fans are so excited, and whilst most accept that they are a long way from where they want to be, they have a world class manager at the helm and are putting together a frighteningly good squad of players bit by bit. Liverpool on the other hand have sold their best player and are playing some really poor football all over the pitch.

United got a lot of stick for spending 150m on the likes of Shaw, Rojo, Blind, Di Maria, Herrera and Falcao. A lot of that came from Liverpool fans on this forum.

Liverpool spent 120m and we were told it was wonderful business by Brendan and far more shrewd than van Gaal.

For the sake of 30m pounds would Liverpool fans like to swap business with us now? If they had added the quality we had I have no doubt they would be doing much better already this season. Facht.

No positives at all at the moment. We look absolutely shite and except for Spurs away it's been like that every game.

So many arrogant posters in here, we are in no position to laugh at Liverpool right now tbh, they have already lost 4 games and are still ahead of us in the table, if we don't get a result tomorrow that will continue.

I'll laugh at Liverpool when and if we go at least 6/7 points clear of them in the table.

It could have been the beginning of something good for them but fortunately they spent a load of money on squad level players.

There'll be at least a good 10 points or so between City and Liverpool come the end of the season, and they won't be in your favour.

We keep getting told that Liverpool have had much harder games than us though.

Well after tomorrow we will have played both City and Chelsea and the worst we can be is a point behind them.
